@@ST-LA never had Cajun jambalaya that looks like that. I would love to know what restaurant. Apparently all they serve is boxed dishes bought from Wal-Mart.
I been a boiler professionally when i worked at a grocery store If you’re not wishing you got a respirator to protect your lungs from the spices you aint doing it right, sha
I gotta be "that person" but the only "mardi gras" food was the king cake, everything else is New Orleans/cajun cuisine, and eaten year round. Good job giving the area some attention, but name it correctly. Kthxbai
I can see other Louisianians commenting about it being year round food in our state aside from the King cake. So I'll just add this. If the crawfish was authentic not one of those kids would have called it bland. And also, maybe more of them would have enjoyed the crawfish.
As someone from South Louisiana just judging from the looks of the food y'all need to come down here and try real authentic Cajun food. There is no such thing as bland crawfish here
stayed a week in South Louisiana for a week around July 4th. had a crab boil the second day there! can honestly say Louisiana and especially New Orleans are my favorite places in the world now! sittin on the Bayou at night is so peaceful. I love my Texas, but Louisiana stole my heart!
I got a trip to New Orleans for a graduation present and it was THE BEST. We stayed in the heart of the city, and I ate so much good food! From gumbo, to bread pudding (I tried like 5 different kinds), to braised pork belly with "red eye" gravy and crawfish. Nothing like it straight from the local chefs. I also ate so many po boys...amazing.
Coming from someone who is Cajun and is from New Orleans, EVERYTHING THEY ATE WAS NOTHING LIKE IT IS DOWN HERE. ONLY PEOPLE FROM LOUISIANA WILL UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT WAS TO WATCH THIS VIDEO. Wtf kinda crap is that? THEY LET THEM EAT THE CRAWFISH WRONG AND EVERYTHING. IM CRYING.
From New Iberia Lousisiana, and I have to say it's hurts me to see how the beans came out.and didn't even eat crawfish right.the only thing good about it was the king cake :(
Kinda like funnel cakes. You gotta eat them fresh too when they're warm and puffy and with a coating of powdered sugar. Best not to wear black if you get some at Cafe Du Monde or some other place. You will get sugar on you... but that is part of the experience.
Goodness the saltiness from Alabama people This is just everyday food southerners eat And New Orleans just happens to be the spot everyone celebrates Mardi Gras in
bruh there is like ZERO sugar on thoe beignets. I used to work at a Cafe Du Monde in Mandeville(about 30 minutes away from New Orleans). You are supposed to cover those things homie.
From Louisiana here. There is a reason people travel to New Orleans for real New Orleans food. If you've experienced it, you would understand. It's like Texas BBQ.
Everyone I know who moved away is so desperate for actual Louisianan food when they come back. I don't think I ever want to move. I don't like being in a red state or a region that gets hurricanes and hot weather, but the culture and food keep me here.
I live in Louisiana as in below New Orleans, and all I can say is wow on how I saw some of these dishes were prepared. I cried on how they ate the crawfish and wondered what that sauce was that in the bowl. Again...just wow
Cara Vinguard girl i agree i’m from the jambalaya capitol of the world (gonzales, la) and it made me so sad that these “authentic” dishes are not so authentic.
Although I'm glad that they did this episode. I was really sad that most of these dishes weren't prepared the same way they are here. I also live in Louisiana by the way
I’m happy that they did this as well, but I wanted to cry when I saw how some of these dishes were served. I understand that different areas prepare meals different too, but I’ve never seen a King Cake that looked like that. The red beans looked weird, and I’m still trying to figure out the sauce for the crawfish.
OMG I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH!!! Mostly because I was born in Louisiana and still living in it. Been living in this wonderful state for 14 years now. KING CAKE!!!CRAWFISH!!!
"Cajun Jambalaya is also different due to the fact that the Jambalaya is served on top of the rice. In other methods, the rice is generaly cooked into the Jambalaya." Okay, resident of Opelousas, never seen Jambalaya on top of rice. Am i tripping?
Im from south Louisiana and i literally had no idea that other people dont eat red beans and rice LIKE I EAT IT ALL THE TIME LIKE I DONT UNDERSTAND. WHAT DO THESE KIDS EVEN EAT
as a person from new orleans, here's my commentary: "cajun jambalaya" nah that's just jambalaya i don't think i've ever eaten crawfish during mardi gras... where are you supposed to cook and prepare crawfish during parades? beignets, a classic (but cafe du monde will always be the best) red beans & rice, another classic king cake... Nonna Randazzo's should always be someone's first impression of king cake
im from south louisiana love mardi gras season and the food! mardi grad is the best! i loved watching the kids eat the louisiana foods! made me so happy
I hope you told Tyler it's not a carnival but it's Carnival! Also I'm glad they tried the food, maybe when they get older they'll enjoy it more, after all their pallets still have to change as they age.
We had a yearly crawfish boil at my college in Mississippi and I'd always make sure to sit with one or two people who didn't eat a lot of crawfish and then finish off theirs, too.
Platypi007 I live in Washington state but I know a sea food restaurant that surves craw fish during the late spring though to the fall & it's always a special treat for me. 😉😇
Being a citizen in Louisiana, I think these kids need true authentic Cajun food.
Zoe Madeline agreed
U LIVE IN LOUISIANA U ARE BEAUTIFUL
Yes just ....yesssss
The ingredients they listed for the jambalaya sounded gross. I live in La too, in the Jambalaya capital lol
@@ST-LA never had Cajun jambalaya that looks like that. I would love to know what restaurant. Apparently all they serve is boxed dishes bought from Wal-Mart.
Born and raised in Southwest Louisiana, I have never seen a beignet with so little powdered sugar on it.
angelus184 It’s a crime, they should be covered in the stuff
everyone knows the normal amount is a bag and a half
TRUEEE🙌🙌
@Rowdy Jr. sorry you can be here but not relate your like that cousin a person can be here but not relate
Me 2
Im from louisiana that doesnt look like louisiana jambalaya😂. And i bet its bland in comparison to what we actually eat
What's it actually taste like?
Greatness it looked very unhomemade cooked
IKR btw im also from louisiana and how dare they say Crawfish isnt good ;-;
AbBeiBei 526 amazingness
Man strait up jambalaya is fire and that ain’t jambalaya
as a kid from louisiana I am highly disrespected on how they ate the crawfish lol
same omg hahaah i was just about to say the same thing
Retweet
😂right
They're kids, get over it.
you have to break them open and suck out their innards.
I can tell by the way the kids explained the taste of the crawfish that it was not seasoned correctly.
michaelzachary00 yea sounds like too much lemon, no Cajun seasoning etc
Yeah, I know this too because I eat like 5 pounds of it. It's so good when it's seasoned
Exactly boiling crawfish is an art and i doubt the kids could take the heat as well
I been a boiler professionally when i worked at a grocery store
If you’re not wishing you got a respirator to protect your lungs from the spices you aint doing it right, sha
Me trying to find the polite way to say this 😂😂
King cake was the only real Mardi Gras food. The rest of the food are all the time New Orleans food
U r right the king cake is supposed to have a baby in it and king cakes don't have Mardi Gras beads on them
minecraftianwarrior7 I’m so glad somebody said it
Ya
Its more like all of most of Louisiana not just new Orleans. (I say as someone that lives in Louisiana) but yeah i agree.
I gotta be "that person" but the only "mardi gras" food was the king cake, everything else is New Orleans/cajun cuisine, and eaten year round. Good job giving the area some attention, but name it correctly. Kthxbai
Cyndi King I was about to come on here and say the exact same thing.
Cyndi King if only king cake was all year
And Crawfish are harvested in March-May. We don’t get them often in winter. Not a Mardi Gras food.
every louisianian is QUAKING
including myself
Very true
Sydney Zaunbrecher I know
Damn right
FACTS lol
No gumbo?! Not a true NOLA experience!
I love gumbo 🤤 now I want some
it’s a shame that I haven’t had gumbo in so long
Now I'm craving gumbo
There is not enough sugar o those beignets!
When you live in Louisiana and laughing at them bc they can’t handle the spice😂
Deanna Carrington yessss omg same
Deanna Carrington Ikr
Deanna Carrington Lol yeah true
Ik it's the best, you can laugh at them while you eat spicy foods without a problem
I totally agree with you most kids cant handle the spikes so sad
"Authentic" HAHAHAHA
K Cleveland Yeah! HAHAHAHA!
Lol
Louisianaians stand up 😂‼️🐊
Kamryn Johnson Here!
*stands* *up*
Right here and going no where
*comment because I'm too lazy to stand up* but says here
Kamryn Johnson *raises for the national anthem*
I can see other Louisianians commenting about it being year round food in our state aside from the King cake. So I'll just add this. If the crawfish was authentic not one of those kids would have called it bland. And also, maybe more of them would have enjoyed the crawfish.
We all wish Crawfish season was year long!
Melinda Bradley pfft year long or not we still find a way

Midnight Killerinstinct here
Midnight Killerinstinct yo yo yoooo
Mais, rite here T! I done lef dem a comment up dere somewhere.
Got me
Just by looking At the food and because I’m from Louisiana and you could tell her that was not authentic
Bland....yeah that's Cali food for you. Louisiana will always make it the best !
Kassidy R places that aren’t Louisiana shouldn’t serve “Louisiana” food 🤦🏻♀️
LOUISIANA REPPIN! But a lot of the foods in this video are just typical foods we eat. the only mardi gras exclusive was king cake.
Sameeee. I’m like WHO MADE THIS
Being from New Orleans and watching this my emotions were everywhere... but gotta remember they are kids lol
0:57 A carnival... A CARNIVAL???? THE CARNIVAL!
J Frilot You mean 0:57
How do you talk about king cake and not mention the baby?
As someone from South Louisiana just judging from the looks of the food y'all need to come down here and try real authentic Cajun food. There is no such thing as bland crawfish here
TJ Folse ikr
Preach!
stayed a week in South Louisiana for a week around July 4th. had a crab boil the second day there! can honestly say Louisiana and especially New Orleans are my favorite places in the world now! sittin on the Bayou at night is so peaceful. I love my Texas, but Louisiana stole my heart!
Always trust a guy with Folse as a last name when it comes to food from here lol.
Yah I'm from Mississippi and crawdads are not bland at all it's like didn't even boil it in anything
3:21 YOU TAKE THAT BACK. CRAWFISH IS AMAZING
Those crawfish are so tiny...it made me sad :,(
Right? Probably some store bought crawfish that they literally just boiled. No. Seasoning, nothing.
Im from louisiana and i can tell you this food was not made right hunny.
I feel like they had chiefs try to recreate it. Authentic lousiana food is made personally and passed down by different families.
chubbybunnyisfunny20 i’m a year late but FAX.
chubbybunnyisfunny20 so am I and I was thinking the same
I was saying ot throught out the whole video
chubbybunnyisfunny20 especially if they said the crawfish tasted like bland shrimp lol
I just love Sydney, she's so well spoken and adorable!
Before i read the comments i bet people from new orleans about to have a heart attack lol
I passed out half way through the video 😂
Absolutely 😂 I’m on my death bed
Yep! 504
The amount of times they complained about the spice and we down here throwing jars of spices in our food
GalaxyWolf Yep XD pretty much
You have an intolerance to spicy food?? You better have some pepto bismol or tums near by.
GalaxyWolf “white people dont like spice” said no one from south Louisiana ever
Crawfish aren’t the same without jars of spice on it
Bland crawfish??? ... Looks like the beignets were cooled down before they added the powdered sugar ... And the red beans didn't even look right 😶
True. Have to question a 'local authentic' New Orleans restaurant in California. Gotta be there to get the real thing.
If only they knew how people really acquired those beads 😭
Louisiana Represent❤️❤️
Coming from someone who is Cajun and is from New Orleans, EVERYTHING THEY ATE WAS NOTHING LIKE IT IS DOWN HERE. ONLY PEOPLE FROM LOUISIANA WILL UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT WAS TO WATCH THIS VIDEO. Wtf kinda crap is that? THEY LET THEM EAT THE CRAWFISH WRONG AND EVERYTHING. IM CRYING.
Same
Seriously I’m in pain after watching this
They could have at least peeled the crawfish for them
This video also pains me to watch
Madison & Lelo same I’m from Lafayette , Louisiana and this hurt my soul
From New Iberia Lousisiana, and I have to say it's hurts me to see how the beans came out.and didn't even eat crawfish right.the only thing good about it was the king cake :(

This whole video was offending me 😭you ain’t had real New Orleans food till it’s made by your grandma watching the saints game
Jeanann09 you ain’t never lying
Also, if you’re in New Orleans, Café Du Mond has THE best beignets!
Kelly Long YASSS
If they aint get it from New Orleans or Southern Louisiana then it aint gonna be accurate.
So you never eat food from other countries unless you are inside that country?
Of course, but you don’t eat foods from other countries and then claim authenticity.
every restaurant in the world claim that their food is authentic
Exactly
Being Creole from South Louisiana, I'm enjoying this episode.
Shoutout to the South 😛 where all my Southerners at?
Texas my dude👌🏻 Hurts my soul that they think crawfish is disgusting. I fucking wish I had an entire pot rn.
Mobile, Alabama here bish
SOUTH LOUISIANA WHOOP WHOOP!!
You forgot to talk about the baby in the king cake!!
Ah. Mardi Gras time. I live in Louisiana, and I love when Mardi Gras time rolls around so I can get king cake.
Y’all. The little boy at the head of the crawfish instead of the tail. Dear God help him 😂. I can’t help it . I’m from Louisiana.
me too
Princess And The Frog💚
These kids are killing me. I live in the south and I’m all about some Cajun jambalaya and some crawfish.
Same
Hey it's Bai same I felt so offended
Cajuns call them CRAWFISH, not crayfish.
Same here, even though I'm not a southerner. Cajun food is some of the best on earth. Shame that some kids can't appreciate.
Lithium4babydolls autocorrect. trust me I know.
That was a criminally small amount of powdered sugar on the beignets.
What do beignets taste like?
Kinda like funnel cakes. You gotta eat them fresh too when they're warm and puffy and with a coating of powdered sugar. Best not to wear black if you get some at Cafe Du Monde or some other place. You will get sugar on you... but that is part of the experience.
Taste like shrimp. Y'all need to get some real crawfish
Super Sayian Blue Rosé amen to that
Take The Dende “it’s bland”
Where the zatarans at???
They really do
Yeah
Honestly, if you've never eaten crawfish type of food, shrimp would be the closest flavour to describe the crawfish flavour.
We also get a week off from school for Mardi Gras break!
I miss when I lived in Mobile. I miss the Mardi Gras parades☹️
I smiled the entire way through this. Hit em with the CULTURE OF NOLA BABY!
I’m from Louisiana and this makes me happy.
Who else lives in Louisiana?
Me

LA gang
Wow! That Sidney kid is SOOOO funny!! Love her!!

And New Orleans just happens to be the spot everyone celebrates Mardi Gras in
bruh there is like ZERO sugar on thoe beignets. I used to work at a Cafe Du Monde in Mandeville(about 30 minutes away from New Orleans). You are supposed to cover those things homie.
ItzSilentStorm Omg I miss Du Monde's! Community coffe & beignets! ♥♥♥♥
Why would you give your customers diabetes
It broke my heart seeing the kids with the craw fish, not knowing how to eat this delicious creature!! / Dedicated Swede, from the land of Kräftskiva
go eat something normal and not animals
From Louisiana here. There is a reason people travel to New Orleans for real New Orleans food. If you've experienced it, you would understand. It's like Texas BBQ.

All of this is common everyday food here in Louisiana except for the King Cake.
This is awesome because I’m from New Orleans and I can’t wait for Mardi Gras
I live in Louisiana as in below New Orleans, and all I can say is wow on how I saw some of these dishes were prepared. I cried on how they ate the crawfish and wondered what that sauce was that in the bowl. Again...just wow

Although I'm glad that they did this episode. I was really sad that most of these dishes weren't prepared the same way they are here. I also live in Louisiana by the way
Yea I'm from New Orleans and the jambalaya was so gross looking I have never had jambalaya that moist
I’m happy that they did this as well, but I wanted to cry when I saw how some of these dishes were served. I understand that different areas prepare meals different too, but I’ve never seen a King Cake that looked like that. The red beans looked weird, and I’m still trying to figure out the sauce for the crawfish.
When she said "Nawlins" it made me cringe. Maybe when these kids are 18 they can really experience what Mardi Grad is all about.
OMG I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH!!! Mostly because I was born in Louisiana and still living in it. Been living in this wonderful state for 14 years now. KING CAKE!!!CRAWFISH!!!
Taylon Roy as a guy from Louisiana that celebrates this every year this is awesome to me too
Born and raised in Texas but my grandma's entire family was from New Orleans. This stuff is so me too :D
This made me REALLY want beignets. Café du Monde has go to be seriously packed right around now
louisiana sweetie... all of this looked so gross, as a louisianian (?) im offended
Agreed like that food looked to dry like where the juice when people from the north try to create our food damn yanks
AH! It’s good to see Mardi Gras being appreciated by these kids! I’m from Louisiana so this I can appreciate!
Vixen SaberSpark YAY!! Another person from Louisiana!!!!!
Do y’all not know how to teach them babies how to peel a crawfish 🤦🏼♀️oml
"Cajun Jambalaya is also different due to the fact that the Jambalaya is served on top of the rice. In other methods, the rice is generaly cooked into the Jambalaya." Okay, resident of Opelousas, never seen Jambalaya on top of rice. Am i tripping?
As I am from Louisiana, This is great!
Edit: So glad you called it Crawfish. If you call it Crayfish or Craydads, you can leave. Lol.

Lucas, Tyler and Sidney are the best.
Im from south Louisiana and i literally had no idea that other people dont eat red beans and rice LIKE I EAT IT ALL THE TIME LIKE I DONT UNDERSTAND. WHAT DO THESE KIDS EVEN EAT

as a person from new orleans, here's my commentary:
"cajun jambalaya" nah that's just jambalaya
i don't think i've ever eaten crawfish during mardi gras... where are you supposed to cook and prepare crawfish during parades?
beignets, a classic (but cafe du monde will always be the best)
red beans & rice, another classic
king cake... Nonna Randazzo's should always be someone's first impression of king cake
Absolutely loved the beignets at Cafe Du Monde
why was that kid eating a crawfish side ways. People from the south are crying inside right now
SONICNEBULA 13 right 😂😂
RIGHTTTT I was cringing so hard
As someone who lives in South Louisiana these.foods.are not Mardi gras foods except for.king cake. We eat the rest through out the year
Yea especially Jambalaya and gumbo, crawfish is during crawfish season lol #Acadiana
Being from Louisiana I was raised on all of those foods. Now that I am in Ohio this episode reminded me just how much I miss it. . .
I know. It's so weird to see their reaction to it.
For them to say that the mudbugs were bland, just tells me that they weren't seasoned correctly. . .
Well Lucas all that suger completely runout of you with all that screaming in challenge chalice 😆
omg. The way they ate the crawfish.
Texans and Louisianians stand up!
Oof Nation YYYEEEAAAHHH
Mardi Gras is great and I live in New Orleans
all of these foods (minus King Cake) are served in Louisiana all year long....
cigooden
I mean, I WISH they sold King Cake all year long...

The way these children were peeling the crawfish really bothered me. I forget that not everyone eats them lmao
Itsmekyleigh how many times are you gunna comment man
STFU, One comment is enough.
So crazy cause that’s everyday food from New Orleans.
michelle duhy I was about to say the same
That's every day food in Louisiana. Lol
and the rest of louisiana
Hey guys, just wanted to point out that crawfish has nothing to do with mardi gras. Crawfish season is at a different time...
OrangeBananaMonster yeah, they think just because it’s common IN LA that means it’s common around Mardi Gras...NOT!!!
Im from Louisiana #NOLABABY
I hope you told Tyler it's not a carnival but it's Carnival! Also I'm glad they tried the food, maybe when they get older they'll enjoy it more, after all their pallets still have to change as they age.
Where my New Orleans squad at!?
Biach I'm right here
That wasn’t so much Mardi Gras food as it was New Orleans food, ha.
I guess craw fish isn't for everyone kids but I am addicted to craw fish. 😇💗💙💖
Platypi007 my favorite sea food restaurant also puts corn bread with my craw fish. 😇😉
When you hear someone say “New Orleens”
I get triggered
OMG I HATE THAT!!!! "Nawlins" is even worse
I love Sydney so much. She's like one of your bestest friends ever.
“Oh I love New Orleans even though I never been there” lol
