Can leave bed made up and use seats and table at front. Good idea about making a bigger table for front half dinette, mine is a little round table which is too small. Great video, we are starting to look at vans ourselves. Can I ask, is that A.C in the roof midships and we have been wondering how you get on with a transverse bed. What happens if the one nearest the back wants the loo in the night?

    • @KissisAdventures
      @KissisAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Geoff. That is AC on the roof but needs repairing. On it when we bought and never found a need for it. It needs 240v and we tend to avoid EHU. transverse bed ok, I have to do the climbing over in the middle of night for loo but having a fixed bed in such a compact van easily outweighs that issue. Hope this helps.

Our solar panel is only 100w so probably at least 200w would be better to top the batteries up. With a suitable inverter there is no reason you couldn't run those items. I recently bought a second hand one of this model and thoroughly enjoyed your video. I am interested to know whether you managed to fit a second leisure battery and where / how? Yesterday I visited my dealer and asked about it. He said that it was problematic to fit it in the long cupboard in the garage because after you put the battery into one of the boxes that he says are necessary it becomes too high to go in. I suspect with a little ingenuity a different box could be made to fit, or perhaps line the cupboard... His suggested solution was to put it in the garage behind the present battery, but I want to avoid that. Liked your DIY table!

    Hi guys, loving the content and the both of you, really enjoying your adventures. We're looking for a motorhome and just starting out, what made you go for a 6m van? I note a 3.5kg weight limit for standard driver's license, but am looking for as much space as possible under this limit. A few vans come in at around 7.5m so wondered what your reasons were for 6m?
    Cheers

      We wanted something we could take down most roads, get parked easy .. .. ish and be reasonable on fuel. Ours is also a narrow profile. If you are happy driving something bigger then go for it, you'll be glad of the extra comfort. Ours is a bit cramped sometimes especially if you are away in colder times of the year when there's no outside living. Thanks for watching, hope you get sorted :)

      @@MrFrobbo roads are great in France and Spain so size is not an issue. Scotland and France a different story. Depends how confident you are and what you've driven before. I wouldn't let it put you off your ideal van just make sure you're confident with the size. You thought of hiring one? :)

    • @MrFrobbo
      @MrFrobbo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KissisAdventures thanks again guys. Yes I have pondered a hire, although I'm reasonably confident as used to tow a 29ft tourer caravan so have some experience. Nightmare when I ignored the road closed signs (as you do) and had to turn around 🤣, parking not particular easy without a motor mover too! The MH has dual purpose, emergency 'home' and travel. Thinking UK summer pitch to provide a base and Spain 4 months a year for warmth as parks generally close (if redundancy etc, tough times during a recession too). Any other advice more than welcome. Cheers.

    We’ve just bought the same van,I noticed in the video you have a lock on your drivers seat,I like that idea,we have a wheel clamp for when it’s parked on the drive at home (very heavy)and a Disklok and a clutch claw for when we are out and about....a bit over the top I know,but like you said,they are very desirable.
    Could you tell me,how you have fixed the lock to the seat, I’ll try that one as well 😂 nice video by the way.

      Hi Mike. Thanks for the comments. I put a thick chain through the big hole under the seat and an even bigger lock. You're right, can't have enough security. We love the 125. We've had a few warranty issues but can't blame the van for that. Bad service from marquis regarding a faulty water heater.

      @@grumpy55 we're just moving house as you may have seen from one of the vids, in order to have the van at home. Will have to take some advice on that. Solar is great btw.

    I prefer less windows on a motorhome especially for full time living. 6 meters is just a little short and really not much difference in handling compared to a 7.5 meter rig.

      @@doglifehub We bought a 7.5 Rapido and full timed in it around 20 plus countries in Europe for over a year. I was a bit nervous at first but very quickly got the detentions of it. In my opinion it’s the minimum and perfect size for full timing and many nights we spent in supermarket car parks here and there. Even being able to stop at Aldi etc to grab our supplies on the way to a campground was great. Anything smaller for full timing would be a real challenge I think. Good luck so jealous that you’re doing that because it was the best time of my life and will do it again… in Australia now 🙂

      @@doglifehub just a few things I’d mention on passing from my experience… I’m guessing you guys are in the UK or Ireland as you mentioned Tesco. If you’re going to spend most of your time in Europe I’d absolutely buy a left-hand drive van. Also, we read lots on forums with lots of handy tips about security etc, like leaving a battery radio on in the van if we were gone out etc. Also we were always so careful where we wild camped (Norway anywhere Eastern Europe nowhere) For full-timing I’m glad we decided on a fixed bed for a more homely feel instead of having to pack a bed away every morning. Also glad we insisted on a separate shower instead of a shower-toilet together as this is just so impractical for full timers. Anyway I could talk about it all night lol. Hope you get round to Australia one day it’s a special place. 🙂
