Only Clark has brought this current amount of attention, spectators, and influx of money and television coverage. It started when she stepped on the WNBA court.
The real question is, who brings the greatest value to the WNBA? Clark is it, hands down. She improved the Fever standing from bottom cellar to playoff participant. She improved the game of her team mates. She broke records longer than your arm. And she increased attendance, attention, awareness, gate receipts and income to the WNBA, much much more than any player. Take away Aja Wilson, and no one will notice much. Take away Caitlin Clark, and the WNBA will drop back to the insignificance that it was before Clark exploded into the scene. In fact, not many people knew of Aja, Reese, Reeves, Taurasi, Swoopes, etc., before Caitlin came along, and made those folks famous. That is why Clark should be MVP.

How much value a player brings to the WNBA has nothing to do with who the most valuable player. That is NOT the real question because the award is not about who brings the most value to the WNBA it is ( MVP ) who is the BEST PLAYER. Right now this year, no one is better then A'ja Wilson and just so you know I have spent over 200 hundred bucks to watch as many of C.Clark's games as possible because I just love her style of play plus she is a great person. In my heart she is number one BUT in reality she is number four in stats. She came from a winning program and when Indy lost so many games in the beginning of the season it hit her hard and took some time to get into a rhythm with the team. Next year she WILL compete with A'ja Wilson for MVP and that is as good as gold.

I just read that the tickets for All the playoff games last year could be bought for a total of around $130.00. That's for whole series. The tickets for the first game of CC and the Fever starts at $130.00 each. Imagine last year could see the whole series for what the first game goes for. How many more millions of dollars are the league going to see from this playoff series over last year.
Also some kind of special signed CC rookie card just sold for $84,000 . The attention she has single handedly brought to the WNBA is unmatched by any other player regardless how good they are. The WNBA was so, so TV before CC, now it's must see TV.

Check A'ja's stats from her first year, while you're at it, check to see if she was in the NCAA tournament right up to the championship game before getting drafted and playing with people she didn't know. The only one CC knew was Aliyah, because in 2023, they played against each other in the final 4. You couldn't ask for anyone to be a better friend or teammate than Aliyah. Same # as CC. Looks like this long up court passes make her the Queen of the quick two strike.
Aja is a good player at her position because she doesn’t have any competition. CC is a great player and teams have to adjust their defense just for her. Cheap shots are another obstacle for CC because she doesn’t know when someone is going to hurt her. Everyone stays away from Aja.
I’m not a big professional basketball fan. I started watching NBA because of Michael Jordan. I only started watching WNBA because of Caitlin Clark.
If you include how a player has affected her team and the league, you have to pick Caitlin Clark as MVP. She is the reason why attendance has soared wherever she played. If you look throughout the league, I suspect that you you will find (with every team that has played the Fever) that those games against the Fever were the highest attended games for that team. The Fever themselves are at the top of the attendance records for 2024. That certainly wouldn't have been the case for Fever games before this year, so you have to ask what has changed on the Fever team this year. Caitlin Clark is the answer to that. Caitlin has shook up her team and has shook up the league. No other player in the league can match her attendance numbers, and it isn't just the improvement in the other Fever players that has brought this change, but that, too, can be tied to Caitlin.
Caitlin has raised the entire team with her passing and assists. Almost everyone on the team has improved stats due to Caitlin's actions. Then, you can talk about records. No other player in the league has racked up so many records in one year as Caitlin, and that was while she was focused on improving her team, and not just herself. A clear comparison is with Angel Reese, who got the rebound record before she quit. A large percentage of her rebounds were from her own missed shots, so in a way, she was padding her rebound stats by missing shots. Was that good for her team? I don't think so. I have been watching the Fever play this season due to Caitlin, and I have never even liked basketball, let alone women's basketball. She just makes the game more exciting. Most valuable? Hell, YES!!!!
No one would know who Aja is without CC. But, because of CC I watched Aja and she's a super star. I think if she get's the MVP, I think everyone should be proud of her. I feel the same way if CC gets it. Both have different skill sets. It's those two and a huge drop to anyone else.
Wilson is a profound player and MVP. Caitlan plays the same game as Wilson "all in at all times" and will do it much better in years to come so, Rookie of the Year, with MVPs to come.

CC just wants to play and win. She's not self absorbed she's trying to lift her team up and they are working together like a fine oiled machine. It's my hope they move on in the playoffs they've worked hard.
Men watch the WBA and they think "I can do that." If I were a junior high or high school coach, I would encourage my players to try to learn all they could from the WBA.
Now that Reese is out of the picture ,they have to start talking about someone else. Both let it go at that. If Wilson has to be cover Clark, then that is a compliment to Clark. Both are very good at what they do.
