      It is also known as intarsia crochet. Intarsia is also what you would use to get close to the fair isle knitting pattern.

    The sweater is adorable! For next time, instead of cutting your red yarn and having to weave in all those ends, just drop it when you switch colors and pick it back up when you need it. I think it's called tapestry or fair isle crochet. LOVE ACNH!! Lolly is my my girl!! :)

    Best tip for stuff like this: with the color changes for the heart, don’t snip the red at the end of the correct amount of stitches. Just leave the yarn attached and when you go back the opposite direction, pick up the red again where you need it. Doing that means there’s no worry about each row of red potentially unraveling whenever you wash it.

    • @haileybeebee97
      @haileybeebee97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh! And you won’t see the red peaking through the pink because you’re not carrying it through.

    there are several different names for crocheting with different colors because there are quite a few methods :) the most common are intarsia, fair isle, and tapestry! also it's really funny this came on my feed bc I'm making a sweater in a similar style with different colors just I'm using the red heart father pullover pattern and I drew out a landscape I'm crocheting into mine :)

    It wasn't a bad sample work! And it was a very good explanation of the applying the basic concept of a Graphgahn to clothing! (Excel/Google Sheets is your best friend for things like this! Pop your picture in, call each square one stitch and change colors accordingly-almost like a cross stitch!)

  • @marialuisamuracoschobesber6953
    @marialuisamuracoschobesber6953 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    This looks so cute! I don't know why but this color combo is just really pleasant to the eye? I was wondering, when you sewed the sides closed you did it with a hook and I presume kinda like a single stitch type thing but going through both layers, and I was wondering if sewing panels together with a crochet needle (and like a matress stitch or something similar) doesn't work that well for like sides or sleeves because it's weaker or something? Or if it's just a preference thing? I'm an absolute beginner and haven't even gotten that far on my current project so this video got me thinking and I thought I'd ask before doing it wrong myself. Also, thank you for being my valentine, don't even celebrate it in february as is, but alas, thank you :P

    • @annakallajian
      @annakallajian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done both, using a crochet hook to crochet stuff together (like the sides of panels) and using a yarn needle to sew stuff together, and I like both! I think I prefer crocheting sides of panels together and sewing sleeves on, I think this makes it most secure and flattering imo, but either option works!

    What you could do is drop the red yarn without cutting it and then pick it up on the other side when you need it. You’ll have like a line of yarn on the inside but it makes it a bit easier then weaving in all the ends.

    So cute! I think you did a great job freehanding and recreating AC sweaters would make an adorable series. If I may offer some unsolicited advice, leaving your tails at least 5-6 inches long will do wonders for the longevity of your projects. After all the work put into them, it would be a shame to have ends popping out or coming undone

  • @juliemanley5233

    Looking good! 😁 A tip for ya though 🙂 crocheting a sweater like this is easier in the round cuz there's less seeming, also working the sleeve from the shoulder down in the round makes it easier to get the right length so you can account for the cuff at the end 🙂 also a good way to get the neck line closer to the size you want is to measure from the base of your neck all the way to the edge of your shoulder, for example mine is 7 inches, but I also have wide shoulders for a lady, most womens shoulders are between 5 & 6 inches 😊 I hope this helps for when you wanna make another sweater without using a pattern 🤗🥰

    Cute. It came out cute. I want to experiment with sweaters and tops for myself too but I have approx. five projects to finish up and it's a first for me to have so many on the go that now I am just working one project at a time because usually I do a large and small project and these are all large projects so I have to finish those first. after I am done (when I get the chance to finish one at a time) I want to knit a few baby sweaters I saw that I want to knit badly and have enough yarn for. I can't wait to see what you make next.😋
