  • Just dropped this one off in the garage. A 1971 Honda CB100. It runs and actually looks like a pretty quick motorcycle restoration project.

I am currently restoring my 1970 CL100 that I rode in college (yes, I'm over 70) and that has been sitting idle in a building on our family farm in Illinois. Had it shipped to me in California 3 months ago. Totally in tact. It is now fully disassembled and fthe frame is at the powdercoater now. Will be fun to watch Brian restoring this one! Be sure to download the parts list...it will help a lot!

That’s incredible! You’ll probably be done before I even start mine. Good luck and happy wrenching.

I think that rectifier is right. It's the same as my CL100 1972. The CB/CL125 of the same era does have the more modern rectifier though, but they kept the older style ones for the CL100 - if I remember correctly. I could be wrong though. I put dry wall tape on some cracks inside my headlight bucket and filled the cracked area with two part epoxy, sanded and painted the bucket satin black and it came out decent. You can also just buy cheap Thai ones - total new replacement on eBay. Awesome bike - in great condition. I'm already looking forward to watching you work on it in your live streams. Thanks for sharing.

I think you’re right. Interesting. I’ll have to do some research.

Good looking bike. I've repaired head light buckets like yours by lining the inside with fiberglass resin and material to provide structure. Then using bondo on outside to fill the cracks. Will look new when you're done.

Two loose wires are for the turn signal flasher. Looks good. I did a CL100 restore. Fun bike to work on.

I think you need to add some 'period correct' rust-through holes in the muffler. Paint is not bad!
