Ya it’s not bad, I actually took it off because you cannot get into the the piston chamber or use the factory sling clamps…. Well after swapping to the mid west, I still cannot get to the piston chamber so either way requires something to be disassembled. Not sure how important scraping the pistol chamber is but ya, cannot get to it with either rail lol
They have been discontinued for years…. I’ll tell you, I found out why. I just picked up the FN SCAR cleaning kit and guess what? There is no chance the gas piston can come out. So in short, there is no way to do a deep clean without pulling it completely apart. So, it’s technically junk and not recommended but I do know where 2 more are at though but they are not cheap… Video going over this dropping in the next week or so.
Keep the FN extended rail; it was made for that rifle. Also, have and use dedicated hollow ground tool kits made for specific use for firearms, such as Real Avid. You’ll get better results in your work. Consider getting a Magpul bipod too.
I actually like the Midwest Industries rail better. It seems stronger and a better design. Especially if you don't plan on swapping barrels, I would go with the Midwest

Super hard to find, they were discontinued a few years ago. Once in a while the pop up on eBay and gun broker. That’s how I got mine. Good luck.
