$100 for a single game on top of whatever microtransactions are guaranteed to be in it is just too much. I remember at one point after GTA5 was out for like a year or 2 they had the audacity to say "We're commited to making single player games" only to never release a single story expansion for 5.
@@ehellstrom7127 server cost, bandwidth, maintenance, etc for a digital copy is roughly the same as the cost to make a physical copy. It’s a negligible difference in cost
Nintendo 2 is a better investment sure their performance isn't the best compared to console but that's not the main focus the focus is the game they are just fun
Bro i don’t even buy my favorite games when they come out with ridiculous prices and i still to this day waiting for some of them go on sale because this is just stupid…
Honestly think GTA 6 will be one of the most heavily monitized games in history. Not right from the start. To ease in players. But GTA 5 has proven gta players are willing to lay down the BIG coin. I will not be surprised when its 100 bucks. And Im sure most people will buy it and a lot of people that are against 70 bucks games right now will switch to "yea but gta6" without seeing the problem. The heavy monitization in games is a result from the decreasing price of games. But 100 bucks for gta6 will show that players will buy expensive games AND in game purchases. Im all for making games more expensive. I can understand 70 bucks when the project cost 300mil. But also make smaller projects. Nintendo does this with for example Pikmin. They were celebrating 3mil sales, which is small compared to other AAA games. But 70 bucks, let alone 100, with in game purchases? Man gtfo.
Absolutely no shot. Even ignoring scalability, direct-to-consumer sales through, for example, the Rockstar launcher as opposed to distribution through stores, upfront manufacturing costs etc. the margins are not comparable. The price is a fair market value and that's it.
@ the margines are not the same because of the distributer cut but that never has and never will effect final price of any product. The few dollars it costs to make and ship a physical copy is negligibly different than the cost to run and maintain the digital server, and process downloads when purchases are made. If you really want to go down to the pennies, the difference is basically less than a dollar
Well, I'm not going to buy it at that price. If I get it, it would need to be on sale. I do not suffer from FOMO.
agreed
Based non-FOMO enjoyer

For a hundred dollars what you steal in game should be yours for real
I'm one of the people that complain digital games aren't cheaper than physical
@@TheMysteryDriver I have a problem with that as well. I won't pay full price for a game I have to download.
The price that it takes to make both physical and digital are the same for the manufacturer, so why should it be cheaper for the consumer for one?
How can the price be the same if there are no costs for physical materials such as disks, cases, and covers? Where did you see this statistic?

Just buy a pc or a steamdeck 🤷♂️

I don't pay $50 or $60 for a game. I'll never pay $100.

F GTA 6.
Digital games do cost the same as physical games
