Even with Publix BOGO's, I can shop other stores, purchase the same 2 products at regular price and still be cheaper than their BOGO! Look at their cut watermelon and fruit prices. I can purchase 3-4 whole watermelons for the price of one large container of cut watermelon. Plus their managers make over six figures a year.

But moved the price up to $13.99. I was in Iowa over Christmas. It was $8.99. Gues how much a 40 oz bag of Starbucks coffee is at Sam’s Club this week? $13.88. Over 3 times as much for less $. Before pandemic, they used to sell a dozen of eggs for 50 cents and a gallon of milk for a dollar. I've been to ALDI in Austria and their cheeses and sausages were very high quality and very inexpensive.
Publix has been a money grab for years now and thankfully it is coming to an end. Publix has been ripping off customers with some of the highest food prices with their monopoly on Florida and it's about time Florida residents had a more affordable alternative. Florida is ripe for the picking (no pun intended, lol).
Aldi is from Germany, where many still walk to their local corner grocery store like we used to in America. They aren't into the One-Stop shopping like us. Walmart failed in Germany and lost over $1B.
I wish I can walk to an Aldi’s where I live, I live in Lake Placid, Florida. I live near public grocery store, I am blind, and I can walk to the grocery store and back home again, however, the problem is the buy one get one free stuff, in the state of Florida for publix, you can’t just get one item and only get it for half off, you have to get the second item, or you’re going to be charged full price. I just found that out today and I didn’t even know. I wish they would build an Aldi‘s in Lake Placid Florida. It would be so much better, than my family member driving us, to Aldi‘s that is at least 20 or so miles away from me.
Grocery prices are very high in Florida especially Publik. Way out of line. Aldi is a much less expensive store and their store brands are excellent. The meats and seafood are also outstanding.
Winn Dixie screwed it's employees for years. The company was sold 4 times since the 80's and each sale took away benefits and deleted employees. So maybe before speaking look into what the company did not to mention they were getting ready to declare bankruptcy prior to the sale last year.
@@dannyb7166 They have sales better than ALDI. Weekend sales great. Poor people love it. Publixs getting more and more expensive and for some folks a long drive to Aldi. German company you cannot buy stock in.
After my last time shopping at Publix where the shopping is HORRIBLE I left my things on the counter and walked out. The cashier had no idea what she was doing beside chewing a large chunk of gum likw a cow chewing it's cud.
Publix is freaking ridiculous I use to love it but it’s definitely a rich person’s store now, 4.5 billion dollars in profit later, I hate to even pop in and grab a couple things so I don’t have to go across the street, I cringe at every single price, the buy one get one, no such thing they just raise the price and not that they will, but they should seriously be ashamed of themselves, i’m sure they will right on their big fat yachts lol

I agree. Have no idea what they are complaining about price-wise. It's been many years since I lived in L.A. but prices were high. At least in L.A. I had a choice of stores.
I'd love to see Wegmans and Kroger come to town. Then Publix would have to respond. I was getting nice fruit salads in GA all summer for $5. Publix was selling fruit salads for $8+ and they weren't good quality.
A large container of cut watermelon costs close to $20 and I can purchase four whole watermelons, 6 in the summer time for that price. Plus they pay their managers over six figures. Publix mark-up is not for the customer and has never been a pleasure spending that much money.
In my hometown in Florida, Aldis stated out with low prices, but one year later, their prices are the same as Wal-Mart and a few pennies cheaper than Publix. I rarely shop there now. The store is always under staffed and has low inventory and out of what I needed, so I end up at Publix or Wal-Mart.
I've noticed prices creeping up since my Aldi built a supposedly bigger store, and inventory shortages for the last eighteen or so months on certain common items only bought there. I also wrote to HQ a couple of times to request more sugar free items. Aldi is only one of several places for my groceries...price-wise they're pretty good but the selection is okay at best.
They hire a lot of people other industries wouldn't hire and then pay them minimal wages while their managers make well over six figures. I spend about 20% of my grocery budget. The rest goes to Publix and Walmart. Aldi simply does not have enough products to meet my full needs. I stopped buying their canned pineapple because it smelled and tasted like something in the metal was leaching out into the fruit and juice. It's an impossible to not notice an odor right after opening. I now get Libbys at Dollar Tree instead, and consistently without issue.

Many inexpensive products at Aldi's come from Canada, so... Seems they can sell chips for less than $2, while American companies charge over $5. A similar cost of living, so they must be more efficient, and then of course, there is the cost of health care in America...
