I gotta say, as much shit as a lot of us tend to give Fortnite, if I had stuff like this as a little kid I would've been going insane with all the cool stuff that happens in the events.
Last time I played it, the big event going on was a 50v50 deathmatch mode. The fact that this game has pretty much zero appeal to me makes me feel like I'm getting old.
This season's paid skins are gonna be anime themed so both him and Naruto and basically confirmed to be happening due to leaks. There is also a Demon Slayer blade in the battle pass.
Although I find it quite weird what this game has become (not that I can unsrstand it anyway), I'm still really impressed how they can host these cinematics, map changes and updates Real-Time and live In-Game.
I don't play the game myself, but I'll always appreciate the effort put into how they always change up the game while packing in its own storyline, and how each season is treated as a continuation of that story and not just an excuse to pump more cosmetic microtransactions into the game. My favorite event was back during the game's first phase, when they did that "Worlds Collide" theme, and Epic placed physical props based on objects from the game world all around the real world, including several loot piñatas that contained V-Bucks vouchers, and there were coordinates you could find by decoding audio files and such. I'm a sucker for well done video game ARGs, so that stood out for me.
This is really cringy to us but the kids playing this now will probably look at this the same way we look back at building castles with friends in minecraft
