This has become one of my favourite TH-cam channels. I love how Jacob not only tells us about pagan beliefs but also shows us how important they are still in the modern world. It’s helped me reconnect with the magic of this planet.
The Sutton hoo finds have close connections to Vendal era Sweden. Remember the Anglo Saxon tribes originated in Denmark and northern Germany, Woden was a principal deity in Anglo Saxon practice, unfortunately we’ve lost the Anglo Saxon tellings of the myths. Not too mention Beowulf was set in Denmark but the story was told and written down in England by the Anglo Saxons I
The intricate designs just makes my spirits rise. Seeing all that craftsmanship is just amazing. Thank you so much for sharing all this and weathering the strange faces of normies and the circling security guards 🤣🤣
Thank you so much for these educational videos! I'm a Pagan who has a strong calling to the Celtics, and your videos have shown and taught me so much. I've always been interested with the ancient past.
Videos keep getting better! I couldn’t take my eyes off this one. I geek out hard on that kinda stuff. So many interesting artifacts in there, and the museum itself is beautiful too.
It would be interesting to visit one of the last places in the British isles to practice Druidism, Harta or st Kilda . These islands were still maintaining a large number of Pagan altars and other Pagan places into the 1730s when methodist scumbags arrived to rob them of there great heritage . There was even a ancient stone circle with its own priest on an outer island
I love the way you explain everything about Paganism. I have started to really understand why I am so interested in the subject and how my Norse and Gaelic ancestors worshipped their Gods. My DNA is all Northern Europe, and my last name means “Deer or Roe Deer” in both Norse and Gaelic. I recently found out that studies indicate our DNA has information stored from our ancestors memories. Very interesting to me, since long before now I have always felt a strong connection to Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Denmark and Finland….all present in my DNA. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
That museum is great. If you are heading this way at any point you may get a nice feel of visiting the Wrekin in Shropshire. Home of the Cornovii tribe pre-roman, thought to be Cernunnos followers. If nothing else there is a good feel about the place and awesome views.
I love this channel even though I follow an Irish pagan path. I'm surprised what a good job you do with Irish and other Celtic paths, especially the pronunciation of the languages, which ain't easy believe me, and I'm even into it. This has given me a new appreciation of the Norse or Nordic path and a lot more new and useful info.
That means a lot! I do my best to be respectful to language, but it can be a struggle to bounce between Gaellic-Old Norse- Germanic- and my American English 😂
Excellently and elegantly done introduction to these pagan artifacts ….inspiring and intriguing video. Your channel overall is superb and I’ve watched many very good educational and historical TH-cam creators…. but your style is very unique and refreshing …..subscribed! 🦌🌲🦢
This was so interesting! I did see a lot of that in person, but it was before I had the appreciation I have now :) I need to go again someday! Thank you Jacob!
Incredible video!!! I love this new journey you’re on 😊 the golden cape reminds me of something a bride would have worn…showcasing her family’s wealth on her wedding day. But who knows? That’s the fun of history, all the guesswork, lol. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your thoughts with us ☺️
I was there on the day this video was uploaded (22nd of march) wish this came out a bit earlier so i knew what to look for beforehand (sadly didn’t have much time)
In the bronze age section they have a collection of homemade pots that they found in graves in east Yorkshire that all contain the left humerus bone of a sheep... They do not know why this was done but...
Did you just call London Northern Europe 🤣 loved the video, super informative! I think I'll have to go to the museum again, it's been over a decade since the last time 🙈
@@TheWisdomOfOdin i have a plentiful access to bone, antler, stone, wood, metal and the resources to create them. i am also skeptical if they went through the right rituals or not because of the dozens of types of rituals, spells or even just what would happen if the Mjolnir were to be blessed twice. that's why i was wondering.
I made a post about it here on TH-cam. It felt like a natural evolution as I take on more of this travel channel vibe. Also helps with networking a little. More “normies” will react better to my name rather than Wisdom of Odin 😅
@@TheWisdomOfOdin awesome man! I must of missed that other video. I'll go watch it now. Love your channel. I've been a Norse pagan for a year now. You're channel really is the best for Norse pagan. Keep it up and good luck.

It makes me genuinely...sad to see how you, as is seemingly the case with most english-speakers interested in paganism, are pretty much going out of your way, though rarely overtly, to try and elevate all things scandinavian, often deliberately at the expense of the likes of the anglo saxons (perhaps other groups get similar treatment I'm just not aware of). The amount of bs people spread here is consistently unbelievable to the rare people who actually care about this period of history in that part of the world. Including the base of your summary of the anglo saxon timeline, which was poorly informed at best. You implied they disappeared, or were subsumed by another culture, when they just became the English. Even your insistence of the term "odin" is wearing your heart on your sleeve. Where is woden? You'd think that honest commentators would opt not only for the culturally appropriate language, but also for a term more closely related to the proto-germanic root. Why the scandinavian supremacism? Why the contempt of the anglo saxons/english? It's always odd to me how americans are from a country whose origin and cultural core is from england, yet americans will consistently look to the scotland, ireland, or scandinavia with adoration and wonder, and england with contempt, or indifference at best. It really seems that hateful state propaganda seeps way deeper than I'd imagine possible. interested

Thank you, I am happy that my new videos are being enjoyed. And I am looking forward to sharing the videos I have coming up!
Jacob is literally living the (All Fathers )Odin lifestyle, may the GODS continue to bless you Brotha.

Great video Jacob, the Frank's casket was made in Northumbria but found in an antique shop in Paris by Arthur Frank hence its name Cheers from Mercia

Glad you liked it!

Awesome video. Ancient Britain is a neglected treasure trove in our circles.
Fantastic, thank you a million times for your knowledge, very interesting 👏👏👏👏👏

The Salisbury and Devizes museums are both extremely interesting for neolithic and bronze age Britain and well worth visiting if you get a chance.

No matter the reason, that cape was the Gucci of the time 😆

The balls at the beginning are from ancient quidditch. Easy 😂

Nice video, not been the BM for about 10 years, Regards from Cheshire, about 3 or so hours from London
Thsnk you.
Jacob, I work as a historian and I very rarely look at pots. 😁
2:22 OGAM ohhh ahh omm
Ironically useful for a paper I am writing about Celtic pagan symbols in the early church
I recommend my video on Pictish symbols if you haven’t watched it already 👍🏻

More north than France init?! 😂
Good video. The British definitely looted all the good stuff wherever they went.
Good stuff !
Are you planning a trip to Cornwall?
i was wondering if it were better for me to make or buy a Mjolnir and if i where to buy a Mjolnir from where
If you have the ability to make a mjolnir I would say do it. However I believe most people buy them. I recommend finding a small crafter on Etsy

I always thought Oceanus was the Greek TITAN of the Sea. Neptune being the roman god of the sea
Why did you change your name? Sorry if you said elsewhere. Right now I'm playing catch up with your last few vids.
Like the Anglo saxons time
lol pots ;) i agree
I had an art history class that spent 4 weeks n the same 4 pots. I was in agony 😂
