I so thoroughly appreciate all of your instructional videos. I hadn’t even the slightest clue on how to begin working with leather before your videos and after watching many of your tutorials now, I feel confident enough to be able to tackle my project that I have planned as a gift for my dad. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these so clear, educational, and informative. You also had me laughing with your eyelet/rivet mixups.

I like this guy. Don't buy Chinese cheap stuff, or at least try not to. You really get what you pay for. Love your honesty.

cheapest hole cutters out there a bit of paraffin wax around them a good solid strike and they went through 3-4 mm leather but perhaps not the best

Is there a way to install a snap where...if you have double layered material...like shirt collar, the snap backing won’t be visible from the back?

Hello. Yes. You can use "single-sided" studs to fix the male part of the fastener. This can then be covered with the fabric of your project.

what brand do you recomend for the smaller eyelets/grommets? I'm looking to start a leather project with small eyelets but am afraid of rust and having them tarnish.

@@Yusmila Hello again. I’m in the UK, so I can’t recommend a brand in your country. But generally speaking, if you by brass(with any colour finish) they will not rust. Avoid the tin ones . All metals will tarnish with time.

It IS one of those days innit? That's not an eyelet, it's a grommet. Eyelets are one piece, grommets use a washer. Washer = Wallace, Grommet = Gromit. Both have two. It's no wonder you want to call that thing anything but an eyelet, it aint one. Eyelets are for thick material, grommets for thinner, weaker flapping in the wind ones. Enjoyed the video and smacked the like eyelet ah rivet argh button!

I agree Geordie. Save time and money and by quality tools. Cheap tools will not turn out good product. It's bad enough to use Chinese snaps eye lets or buckles etc but cheap made tools only compound the problems on both ends. Poor too guality and poor findings equal a poor finished product. No one wants that.
