    So many things to say about this video. 1st: My husband & I got married at the Red Rocks Chapel Sept. 4, 2004. The chapel was sold in 2018 :-( but we'll always have our wonderful wedding day to remember. 2nd: Concerts seen at Red Rocks - Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, Big Head Todd & the Monsters & Seal. 3rd: This is always on the list to see when we have visitors that come to visit us in Colorado. 4th: On the To Do List - Yoga on the Rocks. Thanks Marc & Trish for all you do. We love watching your videos. - Michell

    Love your "backyard" comment. We are from central CA and there are so many hidden treasures. Ocean, mountains and we have been blown away by what is less than 3 hours from our home. It has really blessed us and given us time to learn and grow and see more of California. Love all your vids and tips.

    It is so awesome to see folks enjoy my next of the woods AND still learn new things from them. I've been to Coors several times through the years and still learned more by watching your vid. I thank you. My daydream is to have a smaller coach and had out into the real world someday. But..bills keep me cemented firmly in this waking nightmare. Keep up what you do for those of us who cannot.

    Back in 1980 with 3 kids in tow about the ages of your kids we went to a John Denver concert pulling 18 foot Hobie Cat behind a 11 1/2 pick up camper. We had been camping at Chatfield Lake and did not want to leave our newly purchased sailboat at the lake. Can’t believe they let us park there. Now that was Keeping Our Daydream for sure. Always enjoy your videos. ❤️❤️

    Love your videos! My wife and I are active duty military but after retirement in the next few years, we're considering the full-time RV life. We currently live in Colorado Springs and this is such a beautiful state with so much to do. It is so cool to watch your adventures. Your Breckenridge video was great, we love visiting Breck... it's such a great little town. Take care and be safe!

    Thank you for the tour of the Coors plant. We should do it the next time we are in the Denver area in the winter. I liked the tip about going in the winter.

    Great vlog, If your ever off hwy 50, 30 miles passed the royal gorge, there is an rv resort called Cutty's in Coaldale colorado, it"s in a box canyon. we spend about fifty days a year there. We have about 5 more years left before we retire full time RVers.

    This past summer we took our 25' Airstream to Alaska. You mentioned protecting the front of your RV, this is very important with an Airstream. Rock Tamers, tried and tested in Alaska. A couple of tweaks that make them protect even better. Make sure you adjust the length with the trailer hitched up. I found anything less than 4" of ground clearance will just flip rocks back up in the air. Most people set them up to provide more protection favoring the outside. Mine are adjusted 4-6" towards the inside. When on the "roads" of BC, Yukon, and AK, you'll find more rocks get flipped from the inside of the tires towards the front of the trailer. Not the outside. Rotating the arms that hold the flaps 5-10 degrees towards the trailer, puts a little pre-load on them to counter act the wind when towing. If your truck does not have factory mud flaps, invest in Weatherbeater's no-drill flaps for double the protection. Just slow down when on the bad sections of roads, and you'll be fine. If you can plan ahead when you see on coming traffic, get as far to the right as possible, it might just save your windshield. People drive those roads like idiots. Don't cover the front of the trailer with anything like foam, blankets, etc. You'll get so much dirt behind them, it will scratch everything. Good luck, trip of a lifetime. 8200 miles round trip. :)

    Marc and Tricia- You all are a total inspiration! I was so lucky to find you on TH-cam way back in season one and you have been part of our Sunday night routine ever since. Now my wife and I are planning for our first RV! Like you said "you only get 18 summers with your kids." Question for you Marc - where do you find all of the music for your videos? You always pick such awesome songs that I have never heard of. Maybe Tricia will have a KYD cookbook and you can make KYD season soundtrack CD's? Just a thought! Thank you for all the laughs and great ideas! It's an honor to join you all each week on this journey. Take care!

    Red Rocks! I went to a concert there while on vacation in the Denver area a couple summers ago. Absolutely amazing (and I didn't even care about the band all that much)! Also while on that vacation, I hit about 9 breweries & a cidery, but not Coors. There's so much to choose from in that area when it comes to breweries. My favorites were Denver Beer Co and Stem Ciders. Thanks for another fun video...it's a favorite part of my Sunday.

    Oh so many memories. Believe it or not our school use to take us to Coors every year. It was real exciting but we never got to go to the tasting room :-( .
    As kids we use to ride our bikes to red rocks and have picnics. I'm sure it much more developed now than it was back then. I' supposed to have a market down there in August, so I'm hoping to take my oldest son with me and show him around. I think he will get a kick out of it. Thanks and happy travels.
    Oh ya you missed all the snow up here. Check out the snow in Browning drifts up to the eaves of the houses and all roads closed.

    I went on the Coors tour when I was in college. We had a wrestling tournament there at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. They had a two beer limit back then. Some of the guys from the team choose to take a swim in that waterway that comes into the brewery underneath the building!

    Hey Marc and Trish! My wife and I have been watching you since July 2017, which your channel was recomended by The Motor Home Experment which we love watching as well. I have commented on here before and got some good feedback. Thank you for that! But an update is we purchased a 2018 Palomino Puma 27ft couples fifth wheel and will be going out this month of March two different weekends close to home just to get the ins and outs of being Newbies! So Thanks for the inspiration and hopefully will cross paths. I see your in Austin Tx this Sat. but Mollie has to work. So maybe next time but would be better out on the open road. We plan on going half time starting next year like 2 months out, then back for two months. that way we can still see our 8 grandbabies through out the year. Well its nice to see you and your family every week and we cant wait to start our adventure thanks to KYD. Have a blessed day and may God keep your family safe.

      Grapevine is a beautiful area, we have hiked over there but never camped. If you ever get a chance check out Gulf waters RV resort in Port A, the location won't beat some of the places you have been but it's a beautiful resort!
      I am trying to figure out a TV for it and having a hard time finding SRW for the weight, I wouldn't mind the 350/3500 SRW but it is looking more like the safe option is the DRW. Hopefully we will get to catch up sometimes, hoping to travel more once my wife finishes up her Nurse Practitioner degree in August but in the mean time we enjoy keeping up with your VLOGS.
      Was wondering if you guys are having a harder and harder time getting reservations while traveling?
      Thanks again and have a great week!!

    Maybe it was just a few parks. Anyway, you do what you have to do. The new rig size may limit you in some places. When we had our 5th wheel we were only 50 ft but that was a problem trying to get into older
    Parks . Now our 21 ftTT gives us all the flexibility we need. Of course, we are not fulltiming anymore but have lived in it twice fo4 6 -8 months. Rving is so great. Enjoy !

    Been to Alaska 2x with our travel trailer. The main issue for us was the frost heaves in the roads. We ended up having to replace our axels. Rock or mud from the truck onto the trailer was never an issue.

    I miss Colorado so bad. Ok if you're going to do the incline in Colorado Springs, you absolutely have to walk for water in Manitou--check out the springs there. How's the new rig in colder temperatures?

  • @AKRichardM
    @AKRichardM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wider mudflats closer to the rear wheels are much more effective than the full width one at the bumper. BTW, after 23 trips to/from Alaska, I've never had a single rock chip. The rocks get thrown up and you run into them so you have control on the speed of impact. Slow down for approaching traffic and the problem is minimized. And clean up the "mud" as soon as possible as it has calcium carbonate mixed in to keep down the dust. It sets up like concrete. Only an issue in the Yukon and Alaska and the construction areas are the only unpaved sections now. Last summer, it was maybe 50 miles total. The bigger issue for RVs are the frost heaves. Again, slow down. Most travelers seem to be in too much of a hurry. And lastly, travel on your own. The packs of RVs aka caravans are a traffic hazard.

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our neighbors at the RV park we're at now have been to AK for the past 6 summers. They said exactly the same thing. It's good to know all the hype about the road is mostly hype. Thx for the comment.

    Ahh I'm excited for you guys to do the Colorado Springs incline hike! Back when my family lived there, my dad would take my brother and I up regularly - I was 11 at the time and loved counting how many steps there were :D
    Pro tip - Know your options to get back down after you make it to the top. Are you going to take the 4-mile switchback trail down, or go straight back down the incline? If there's ice, I recommend the 4-mile trail down; the incline is so steep it's a wee bit terrifying to go straight back down, even without ice! Good luck to you all, my husband and I LOVE your channel and are now dreaming about getting our own rig someday! :)

    Hey guys
    So cool to see you in the other Golden. Looks like you had a blast eh.
    Anyway the invitation to visit our Golden (BC) Canada is still open and wouldn’t it be cool to do a video about the two places called Golden. We have a brewery but it’s not quite Coors but still very interesting as it’s brand new and you would just love the owners.
    I know you have not chosen your route to Alaska yet but if I can recommend Coming up Hwy 95/ 95 though Cranbrook to Radium Hot Springs then turn right at the lights and up to Castle Mountain junction, then left to Lake Louise and the right to Jasper on the parkway passed the Columbia Ice Fields. It’s one of the most breathtaking drives in the world.

    I spotted a "Sailing La Vagabond" fan at :22 seconds. It's funny to see another one of my favorite You Tube channels when watching another favorite. I always read through the comments, and I know I'm not the only La Vag fan here. wink wink

    Having driven the Al-Can highway 4 1/2 times over several years I discovered bouncing rocks off of trailers cause the most damage to your vehicles. First thing is to slow down when passing oncoming trucks and trailers on the gravel sections of road. Second is to put mud flaps on your rig and put some kind of covering on the lower section of your trailer. The best prevention is to keep the rocks from coming off your tires. The best trip I ever made going up to Alaska with a 30 foot travel trailer was in late June. I saw more wildlife in that trip than any other and the RV traffic is much less. Have fun.

    Thanks for all your work on your videos! I thoroughly enjoy aging along in your adventures! I had an idea-you could put a command hook on the bathroom door and then put another on the wall and use a ponytail holder to make a door lock-that way you could still get inside in an emergency but it would let someone who was opening the door know that it was occupied 😁-it was just an idea and you've probably already fixed the issue but wanted to share it with you! How long are y'all in Colorado? 😁 have fun and be safe!
