Out of curiosity when you had the 2018 Genesis did your side cameras off your mirrors work? In my 2017 I noticed there appears to be cameras underneath the mirrors however I don’t think they are functional. I don’t have the ultimate package which I figured would be the only way to have the side/360 camera but maybe I’m missing something?

I just purchased a 2018 G80 3.8 HTRAC and this is my favorite car I’ve owned thus far (this is my ninth vehicle). Blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, back up camera, auto folding mirrors, Apple CarPlay, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, window shades, AWD. The body style is beautiful and the interior set-up was executed PERFECTLY. 60k miles, I plan to have this car for the next 7-10 years.
I have a Genesis G80 with the 6 Cyl Ultimate package. Awesome automobile! I have never regretted my purchase. Mine is a rear wheel drive. More Comfortable than the Mercedes E550 - I loved this cat and the smoothness of Mercedes V8. The Mercedes is very expensive to maintain But a wonderful Automobile. My Lexus was a wonderful Car. The G80 My Favorite! Quality and attention to Details. I enjoy this automobile!!
1 thing I've figured out on my 2018 G80 RWd is because the car is so heavy and the wheels almost weigh 30 pounds each, that its best to torque the lug nuts with a torque wrench at 95lbs or higher. Ever since I torqued my wheels lug nuts to 100lbs each in a even star pattern my car drives straight, steering is precise and the car feels overall just quicker.

One thing to note with an AWD car is make sure you rotate your tyres regularly or you stand a very good chance at wrecking your AWD system which can be very very expensive, also don't have lots of tread on one set and not the other always replace all the tyres at the same time and this is important for any AWD!

@@MeynMotorGroup No worries, another very important tip is tyre pressures, nothing wears them out faster than under inflation and also affects you big time in an emergency situation so always go by the placard and add a touch over and check them once per fortnight as it could not only save your life but someone else's. And yes alignments are important for the very same reason, helps stop uneven tyre wear which in turn stops damage to the AWD system which in turn saves money in tyres and AWD system repairs which could run into the thousands of $$$$

So I’m in the market for a used G80. I had a 2000 LS 400 years ago. Car was outstanding to me. I drove this the other day and was very impressed with it. Smooth and quiet! Definitely would like to find one. Nice vids man✌🏼

Just got a 2018 Ultimate RWD version.....I'd say find the same, don't settle for a base model! Love it, very smooth, quiet and comfortable. You won't regret it!

Only thing I HAD to do to it was plug in a $300 pedal commander to address the noticeably sluggish throttle response these gdi cars all seem to have. My wife audibly gasped with how easily the car pulls now just breathing on the pedal compared to stock.
I've got the '16 Genesis with HTRAC and it tracks so straight that on level straight roads, I've had the alarm go off for me to put my hands back on the wheel because I haven't had to turn the wheel right or left, but my hands were on the wheel the whole time! If it doesn't feel any input from the driver, it assumes your hands are off the wheel.
You definitely want to get an alignment... Mine used to wander a bit on the road, too .. An alignment solved the issue.. Do make the point that the two wheel drive 3.8 , gets up to 34 miles per gallon, on long trips.. I went over 630 miles in combined town and highway ( mostly highway ..) averaging 75 to 85 mph .. ( just following the flow of the traffic , officer. .) Also you can subscribe to their Blue link, and get all the remote thingies , without an Alexa..it just uses your phone .
This car is soooo underated. Super smooth, super quiet on highways, and just feels like a true luxury car. I never regrett buying this car and prob buy a genesis for my next car. But one thing, I honestly think north american models come out differently from the models in Korea and this car is pretty much made for Koreans. Somehow they look bad in NA idk. Its hard to explain there are features that we love and others find it weird. I drive a fully loaded 2017 g80 3.3 rear wheel drive with a 19 tire in Korea. I get a electronic gear shifter which looks better than the mechanical ones. A full screen which covers the entire space in between the gauge clusters. Back center console has multiple buttons for the people to control the front navi screen and the seats etc. The front grills are the same ones from your car.
I am in North America and have everything but the multiple buttons for the people to control in the back seat. NA models didn't come with a full control knob for back seat passengers; however, we did get the rear heated seats and rear sunshade button on the Ultimate trim.
Some have mentioned that before haha we both share pretty similar ideas and thoughts on cars so I’m not surprised 😂 glad this video was of use this is one of my most favorite cars and Mark really knows what he’s talking about!
Good luck getting service or any of the promises The Genesis Group makes. I have a G90 and can't get the 3 local dealers to help me. 1 will not call/text back, 1 refereed me to the #1 dealer and the 3rd dealer refused to do the promised Valet service because I didn't purchase it from them. I might as well have purchased another BMW if I wanted to be treated this bad.

I find my lights pointing low as well. I see there are holes on the plastic trim like most cars you can stick a screw driver Phillips tip and turn counter or clockwise to move beam up or down whilst Parked in front of a wall that you can see the line of light across the wall moving as you turn.
I have a 2917 G80 Ultimate 5.0L. You keep stating that this is pretty much the most perfect car ever, but you miss a few things: first off, the ultimate version does not support Apple CarPlay. It’s a really big miss on the part of Genesis. Their top-of-the-line flagship does not have Apple CarPlay. But all of the trim lines underneath does have Apple CarPlay. Also, there is some throttle lag or transmission lag that keeps the car from getting off of the dime quickly. It has power, but it’s just not as responsive with that power as its competitors. Look at the online forms, and you will see a lot of issues with throttle lag and transmission lag.

Check your bumper if you have 4 small circles you have sensors and if it’s square parts you don’t and the button is beside the heated steering wheel button
@@yeb7997 We got it with I believe 39,000 miles, it now has around 55,000 if I remember correctly. Only real issue it had was a check engine light for a faulty electric thermostat(Car still ran perfectly fine). We got it fixed under warranty, but even if it wasn't covered it wouldn't have been a big deal. Hyundai has a TSB for that electric thermostat going bad and they have an upgraded version to replace it with. Smooth sailing after that. I highly recommend these cars
@@yeb7997 Good question, so the answer is "no" for a couple reasons. 1. The car is pretty Dang good in stock form. I have the base model V6, but the 311 hp pairs very nicely with the 8 speed transmission. My other car is a mostly stock Shelby GT500 and the Genesis' acceleration is actually comparable (not faster) in terms of seat of the pants feel! Not to mention all the creature comforts, LED lights etc the G80 comes with. 2. Its not a super common car (yet) so there is virtually no aftermarket for it. You could probably throw an intake on it but you won't find any ecu tunes for it. Bottom line: Its a phenomenal car, but if you are a hardcore gearhead that loves to modify cars, I wouldn't recommend this as a primary project-type car. This car makes a killer daily driver as long as you don't expect to take out AMGs and M5s.

You right not many aftermarket parts for it and I don't really see this cars on the road as such unless people are keeping them in their garages for the most lol I once was messing around with a super snake on the highway when I rented an Audi A6 3.0 and all I can say is you have a monster of a car even in stock form. I own 2015 G 80 3.8 H-Trac. It rides in straight line and lane assist works really well. I love my car on the hwy. I drive on hwy a lot and am thinking of getting new 2020 G 80. Great car!!

The unit software can be updated using the SD card. I have a 2016 and Apple car play works perfect. You can do it yourself through the Hyundai website or have it done at a dealer.

I'm very new to the Genesis Market I own a 2019 G80 base model with a 3.8 L naturally aspirated. Is your ultimate a 3.3 Turbo?

Unsprung weight is pretty much irrelevant; rotating mass is much more important

Yes my 2015 wouldn’t stay straight until I bought aftermarket wheels and tires and it drives in a straight line now even with crazy crown
snow mode splits the H-Trac to 50%-50% and gears it lower

The 2017 G80 ultimate does not have any type of Apple CarPlay. They may have added it for 2018.

@@yeb7997 Good question, so the answer is "no" for a couple reasons.
1. The car is pretty Dang good in stock form. I have the base model V6, but the 311 hp pairs very nicely with the 8 speed transmission. My other car is a mostly stock Shelby GT500 and the Genesis' acceleration is actually comparable (not faster) in terms of seat of the pants feel! Not to mention all the creature comforts, LED lights etc the G80 comes with.
2. Its not a super common car (yet) so there is virtually no aftermarket for it. You could probably throw an intake on it but you won't find any ecu tunes for it.
Bottom line: Its a phenomenal car, but if you are a hardcore gearhead that loves to modify cars, I wouldn't recommend this as a primary project-type car. This car makes a killer daily driver as long as you don't expect to take out AMGs and M5s.
@@chrishernandez2490 okay, it's pretty much a good daily and comfortable smooth ride. You right not many aftermarket parts for it and I don't really see this cars on the road as such unless people are keeping them in their garages for the most lol
I once was messing around with a super snake on the highway when I rented an Audi A6 3.0 and all I can say is you have a monster of a car even in stock form. Hope you enjoying it.

I own 2015 G 80 3.8 H-Trac. It rides in straight line and lane assist works really well. I love my car on the hwy. I drive on hwy a lot and am thinking of getting new 2020 G 80. Great car!!

The unit software can be updated using the SD card. I have a 2016 and Apple car play works perfect. You can do it yourself through the Hyundai website or have it done at a dealer.
Ultimate didn't get Android auto and apple car till '18. But the lower models have it.

It's all the quality that's why it's so heavy
The chassis frame is steal. Not aluminum. They had to cut some corners for the lower price. The frame is one of them.
Also the suspension is very heavy. Nothing wrong with it. Just heavier metals. That's it. Heavier metals on the car is a cost savings.
