    Hi Cam, I stopped by the Gallery Aquatica store two weeks ago when I was travelling around in the east coast of Australia( im from the Netherlands). Unfortunately you were not there but I really enjoyed the beautiful store and just wanted to say I really enjoy all the videos you and your team make and they help me out with my own reef tank alot :)

      Good question Christopher! Ania normally tries to get over there for MACNA, but she missed this year. Maybe next year if we’re lucky. Cam

    I have one of these tanks, it’s been running about 4 months and I just cannot beat the hair algae 🙁 no matter how much I remove it literally comes back over night, I’m using rowaphos and my phosphates are 0! Really frustrating.
    Your customers one is absolutely beautiful though! 😊

      New tank syndrome, just keep on top of your nutrients and manually remove as much as possible. It will pass :)

      Algae turf scrubber, grow the hair where you want it, out of sight.

    Lovely video. Now have Ania give us the details about how the wet/dry works. I have never understood it.

    If you have sponges growing on your sponges do you keep them?

    hmm I'm not too sure I get your point about the nitrates and the trickle filter. The tank can only produce as much nitrate as you add nitrogen sources. So to keep the nitrogen sources as anything other than ammonia and nitrite, isn't that just the dream scenario? :) Nice video!

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn’t explain it well. The trickle filter pushes nitrogenous waste to nitrate so quickly that the skimmer doesn’t have time to pull much of the waste (ie the precursors for nitrate) so some people think the trickle is making nitrate. I need to do a video dedicated to this, coz it’s difficult to explain quickly. Cam

      @@GalleryAquaticaTV Oh okay, thanks for clarifying. I'm imagining that the biofilm on the rocks could suffer a bit, since the nitrifying bacteria are super saturated at the filter instead, making real estate for nasty/useless bacteria on the rocks. Just a thought :) You could use the whiteboard and an in store session about nitrogen in reef tanks :D

      Natural seawater. It’s the cheap and easy option for us. Cam

    Hi Cam. It is really hard to agree that aqua400 skimmer is a skimmer. It is a very poor and cheap box. I removed it and bioballs. I put a high quality buble. magus inside the chamber with boballs - far better performance. cheers Piotr

      Hi Piotr, many will agree with you, which is why we have fully swapped out the sump and skimmer on many of these. Check out our video Sump Swap Shuffle to see what I mean. Cam
