The only issue with Release FX is that is also turns off your filter knob.. my gosh its so frustrating that it also turns off the filter effect on the filter knob.

I really like the options you get with editing the pads. Like, I never use beat jump so that entire section is about to get reassigned. Thanks for the vid.
TIP#2 is totally genius. I've been watching a ton of videos trying to find out where the play and record is for the sequencer and had no luck. Didn't think about mapping it until watching this. Thank you
I totally dug the 1st tip about modifying the pad buttons to comply with your own personal style of playing, so that you can choose what effects and controls you want to be readily available to you. Something Pioneer needs to extend to all their controllers. #WeAreCrossfader
Thanks for the MIDI mapping tip. I just turned my SLIP buttons to do preview play/stop. Never use slip mode, and that button sits nicely next to the browse rotary. Works like a charm!
One of your best videos yet! All the tips were extremely helpful, and I found the midi rewriting one with the sampler recording to be the most helpful. It's gonna add a huge element to my sets now! You're the man
The 1st tip is definitely the best. Customizing the pad shortcuts as you want, so you can bring the mixer's performance to your personal DJing style, no matter how this style is. Plus, the capacity of having 16 shortcuts on two 8-buttoned panels, increasing its possibilities. #WeAreCrossfader thanks for these videos :)
What a great tutorial on some tips that I didn’t know. Thank you Jamie! Really well explained! Just got the ddj in a couple of days ago and this really helps to get some extra powerful knowledge on the controller and thus even better mixes! Cheers!
omg I never noticed the colour FX parameter saved each colour setting individually. I was waiting for an update so we can finally map it. thanks for the tip :)
I think my favorite tip was the color effects parameters setting. Nice to see you can tone down those effects which are a bit much. Thanks for all the great tips! #wearecrossfader

Great video Jamie. Tip 4 is my favourite. Having the countdown to next cue point is really useful on tracks you may have only listened too once or twice and makes mixing them well a lot easier.
Hi Jamie one more awesome tutorial as always...my fav tip is NO.2 MIDI MAPPING..i jus loved it very useful.. thank u so much..keep u da good work #WeAreCrossfader
Another great tutorial from Crossfader! To be honest, my favourite tip would be the ones with the FX - tip #3 - as I'm the type of person that really like to add things to the song & make it my own and this tip really helped me with that. Cheers! #WeAreCrossfader
Love your stuff Jamie! My fave tip is #5 - Crossfader Curve - I've been wanting to learn how to scratch for a long time - this will come in handy! Keep on doing what you're doing! #WeAreCrossfader
#WeAreCrossfader My favourite tip is the #2! Not only midimapping gives you the chance to customize your controller but you can also add buttons (like the missing color-fx selectors on my ddj-400) with some small midi pad units!!! Love your tutorials thanks!!!🔥🔥
Tip #1 is my favorite, it’s a great way to mix and match and get creative which is something that can really set you apart from other dj’s. I love your videos, keep up the great work! #WeAreCrossfader
i like the tip #3 fx parameter specially the combinations of release FX and Fx. For me that was an awesome. Thank you #Crossfader for sharing us your knowledge all the way. I really appreciate you!
I find all these tips really useful, but particularly the remapping. Love my DDJ-1000, but really struggling to make ‘it mine’. Going to give this a whirl! Thanks Jamie and Crossfader 👌🏾🎛🎚🎧 #WeAreCrossfader
Being a beginner I’m always looking at ways to perfect my phrasing so my favourite tip has got to be customising the jog wheel view to show the countdown until your next hot cue. Love the vids, keep up the good work #WeAreCrossfader
I always thought you had to go through the MIDI settings in order to just change what pad modes actually triggered any modes I wanted to use, so tip #1 was really handy to find out for me! #WeAreCrossfader
I really liked the midi mapping to add the sampler recorder because I've wanted to make live remixes on the fly to add more flare in my Mixes, can't wait to get this controller and set this up to show off my skills. #WeAreCrossfader
Love tip #5 the scratching tip is something I’m learning how to do right now ! I love these videos and crops fader school/website keep them coming!!!! #wearecrossfader
99% this controller is the next upgrade for me. Should I stay with Serato Pro version of move to Rekordbox version? I have no problem changing platform in the long run.. What's the pros and cons to each? And which would you recommend?
Most of the videos here claiming to be “tips and tricks “or really just pointing out general features and I found a few of your suggestions actually worthy of the title, so cheers. Regarding the noise and filter effects etc. and their volume, it can be adjusted by the knob labeled level/depth right above the button that is used to engage other effects.
Hi, thanks for your videos. Can you make a video with Ddj 1000 and 2 computers connected, like if 2 djs were changing positions using the same controller. Thanks
Really informative video for a user of the DDJ-1000! Will be using the pad editor to full effect once I can get my head around how to use the sequencer... #WeAreCrossfader
i own a lot of dj controller in the last year .. including Roland 808 505 707m A&H Xone96 DDJ 800 Traktor S4mk2 S2mk3 and so on... The last buy a FLX 6 from Pioneer was soo "shitty" in build quality and most crap the unsymmetric outputs for 570€..so, always audio problems with other gear.. The last travel for me is the "old guy" from 2018 the Pioneer DDJ 1000 .-. i mean in 2021 its still "the Controller" for rekordbox. The Mixer is a tank, the overall build quality - in and outputs - combined with a XP2 Pad Controller. They updated the firmware still in 2021 alongside the drivers for MAC/WIN - Thanks for the sequencer midi tutorial. Amazing Channel - thanks for all the high quality videos.
Great video! The best tip was the midi mapping one for sure. I've been trying to change up my midi mapping on my controller and it clarified a lot. Thanks so much for the videos! #WeAreCrossfader
Overall I liked #2 and #3, but what I like most since I have this controller is that you can do almost everything straight from the controller. The only thing I use rekordbox for in performance mode, is the library #WeAreCrossfader
You save my life with the sound color effects tip :) thank you very much! Do you know if I can add a decimal point to the BPM in the Jog Wheels? Would be great to have 2 as in the software. The problem is that the BPM is not very accurate in comparison to the program...
Probably the first tip of semitone up and down...I always never liked the keyboard mode and wish there was a tone up and down like there was on the DDJ SX3...your first tip just totally solved that issue for me #WeAreCrossfader
damn dude as soon as you were talking about which button to remap for the sample sequence rec & play controls I thought "maybe sync?" and you went ahead and used that lol!
Hi Jamie and all at Crossfader! I just got a DDJ-1000 and the scratching is all warbly/wobbly with the jogwheels. No matter what buffer size I set... there's an obvious fast wobbling sound, especially if you are scratching a vocal sound. This issue is not present in DVS mode, at all (it's flawless). The same problem is present on the DDJ-800 as well. There's a handful of people who have experienced this issue. No matter what sound output I choose (the 1000 itself, a Motu M4, Focusrite Scarlett, etc).. the same problem is consistent. Have you guys ever found this to be an issue? It's a brand-new unit, and tested with Mixxx, the jogwheels are absolutely fine. It's like a Rekordbox thing, or some type of setting that I cannot for the life of me, figure out. I tested with Traktor as well, and it's fine. It's just with Rekordbox. Tested 5.8, up to current version 6. Any help/thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys!
Thanks Jamie, great video. will you please make a DDJ 1000 tutorial/comment on how to map the Sound Color parameter to any unused knobs (MIC 2 for example)

The only issue with Release FX is that is also turns off your filter knob.. my gosh its so frustrating that it also turns off the filter effect on the filter knob.
also, there are not any cfx keyboard options
oooof very helpful
