Boogie 2988 is a long time youtuber who recently had a documentary by Mike Clum get released. This documentary would reveal Boogie's toxic views of women and relationship and reveal his relationship with his new girlfriend that is almost 30 years younger than himself. Boogie has a toxic history with women in general ranging from his exwife and past and current girlfriend. From a massive youtuber that was a cornerstone of the website to lolcow, Boogie 2988 has revealed who he truly is and has emerge a lolcow to many ready to be laughed at and watched out of curiosity. He attempts to play the victim and faces constant humiliation, but Mike Clum's documentary reveals a man who doesn't want to change. Boogie once picked a fight with his ex-wife while she was having an allergic reaction. What was the fight about? He complained that she didn't watch his videos despite working 60 hours per week and then coming home to not only look after him but to help write and film his videos. This was on the same day he proposed to her. One can only imagine the horrors she went through during their relationship and one can only shudder at what the new girl is in for.
PS. His ex-wife signed an NDA as part of their divorce settlement.

A professor of mine talked about faking good vs faking bad. Boogie has faked good for a long time. It’s sort of like the faces and the heels in wrestling. There are a lot of faces who are awful people behind the scenes and heels who are very kind behind the scenes.
Saying “I don’t think I was capable of [misconduct] at that size” instead of “I could never do such a horrible act” is pretty telling that he’s a piece of garbage.

I commented this on anther video about Boogie and I'm going to comment it here as well: the only reason he preys on girls 18-19 is because if he went any lower he knows he'd be breaking the law. Not because it's wrong and disgusting but because he's too scared of being caught. He would 100% prey on a 15 or 16 year old if he could. I remember him so vividly bragged on the H3 podcast like five years ago that his girlfriend just turned the legal age to drink and he's just gone after younger since then. I understand the implications by saying this, but Boogie also wanted us to see who he was in that documentary and he showed up he's an abusive, manipulative, immature, creep. And it's the fact that he's obsessed with the childish/child-like aspects of these girls, he said so himself. I think the appropriate age range for a 20 year old to date is within 3 years of their current age. I know
20 year olds are adults on paper but they’re not entirely independent most of the time. They still have limited real world experience, they’re largely dependent on their parents for financial support, they may not think things through yet

What Boogie is doing with that girl (who’s the exact same age as me btw) gives me fucking goosebumps. She’s being completely taken advantage of, and no one can do anything about it but watch. You're not the only one. I am only a few years older than her, but I see a more extreme version of my younger-self within her, and I could feel her pain when she was talking. Feeling alone, hating yourself, crying in the dark, being directionless, and thinking you desperately need someone to make yourself feel whole. I was there. When she broke down crying, I genuinely almost broke down crying myself...like, I felt the genuine father in me want to help her...tell her all the advice that I learned on my own...I really hope she finds happiness...she has such a pure heart.
8:00 the transition where Boogie was speaking with his character voice and switches to his real voice before destroying the mannequin thing was disturbing to watch. Even if it’s an act, it projects super hard. He just proved Dez right and it’s so obvious that’s who he is directing that too

In that documentary he keeps telling to the new Dez how he wished he had taken better care of his health, when he still can recover, but he is acting like he is already with his days counted. Regarding the job interview, he told everything wrong he could and sabotaged the whole thing. Sure, in part he is deliberately doing this for attention, but at the same time dude is just going digging a deeper hole for himself and dragging Dez and possibly others with him

As a survivor of childhood abuse (in various forms), it's not a license to spread that pain onto others. Your job as the survivor is to get therapy, heal, and do your best to be better than those who abused you. It's NOT a pass to skirt responsibility for the pain your own mistakes have caused. Once the Boogie mask fell, I just couldn't be surprised by anything else I'd heard about him.

He is. There was a situation like this on TLC’s 600 pound life: a mainpulative, morbidly obese woman took advantage of a mentally disabled/abused man to basically be her full-time caregiver so that she didn’t have to take care of herself. Like Boogie, she had that man bringing her food, cleaning her house and basically hanging on to her so that she wouldn’t have to do anything for herself (was drawing disability like Boogie as well, but was perfectly able to look after herself once her bf figured things out and left).
I just hope this girl gets out before Boogie has her washing his behind when he’s too lazy to wipe.

This pisses me off the most. It's one thing if he wants to open up to talk about his struggles with mental health, but he uses it as a tool to get sympathy imo. He uses it as a defense and excuse, rather than explain and try to improve.
as someone who attempted, and is currently dealing with liver problems from it, yeah it's infuriating...I'm realizing how valuable life is, and how depression and all that, it's what you make it. you can manage it. you can't manage death. I wish more people would realize this without needing a major wake up call like I did, and also wouldn't use it as a threat, that just makes it more likely for someone to ignore someone who actually needs help

Okay I just realized his new barely legal girlfriend looks nearly identical to his ex wife AND they have the same name?! Very strange! I feel so bad for his current girlfriend. I have been where she is with lots of trauma, shitty male role models and older men trying to take advantage. You lack so much real world experience at that time it’s very easy to get yourself into a dangerous situation where you’re being controlled and manipulated for months before you even realize what’s going on. At that age you also have a very fatalistic view of love like, if you don’t have this person you’ll be alone forever and the abuser makes you dependent on them (she is clearly financially dependent on Boogie and dependent on him for a home already) and it can be so hard to get yourself out of the situation. He is disgusting and shameful.

I saw the Boogie documentary, and at certain points, it was a tough watch for sure. One thing I did come away believing was that his current girlfriend really does love him, but as you said, she is not emotionally mature enough to see the pitfalls that will likely arise in this relationship. In short, there is a really good chance that she is being set up for a terrible heartbreak. I've tried really hard to like Boogie (and I still subscribe to his channel), but it's difficult to overlook the things he's said and done. I've even tried to take the stance that they're both adults, and if they're happy, who cares? The thing is, he could hurt this girl in ways that will wreck any future relationships she may have with men. I hope for her sake that doesn't happen, but I fear that this is where things are likely heading. Boogie's got a lot of his own emotional baggage, and I'm not sure he knows how to have a successful relationship with a woman. He'll often play both sides of the fence depending on who he's talking to. Sometimes he tries to come off as an alpha and says really abrasive, misogynistic things, and other times he tries to come off as the sensitive nice guy who is understanding and says all the right things. I don't think he even knows who the real Boogie is. All of that is being projected onto this young woman who is not equipped to deal with it and has seemingly never had any positive male influences in her life, so she doesn't know how to suss out the fact that she's being taken advantage of.
