- A Pokemon Evolutions Booster Box is opened in this video. The Evolutions set is brand new to the Pokemon TCG and today is the official release date. Evolutions is a Base Set reprint set and contains all 1st Generation Pokemon. I bought this box from Collector's Cache for 94.99. The booster box includes 36 booster packs total, with 10 cards per pack, plus 1 online TCG code card in each pack. This is part 1.

I opened 2 boxes yesterday... and I'm buying more just because of how much fun it is to collect this set i want to of everything the cards are fantastic and i can not get over it. I hope you do more box openings i look forward to knowing the value of these boxes!

Pretty good pulls. Not so high on the secret rares though, they seem way to common. But the holo pattern in these are just epic. Im glad i was 90's kid

I love this set the pull rate is op as and all the cards aren't overpowered either
Ha, the Overgrowth theme deck was the first thing I ever got too, how funny. I didn't even know there was such a thing as booster packs so I went to Barnes & Noble and bought the the same deck again because I wanted more cards and then the deck with Machamp too
I have the original mewtwo holo from base set and it looks really cool! I wish it had more than 60 HP though.

I purchased some Evolution boosters from my local Walmart they came in a pack of 3 for $9 so I bought 3.. opened them up and pulled a EX full art blastoise and Dragonite EX full art holos! Just wanted to thank you again for pulling out the kid in me😎

Nice pulls, I put my box up on Monday and had 7 Secret Rare pulls, managed to get one of everything too. This is an interesting set and pull rate.
Definitely pretty good pull rates for this set.
PrimetimePokemon agreed, i pulled 7 secret rares, 2 mega ex full arts, 2 mega ex, 2 ex, and a bunch of holos and reverse holos.

I am 27 now so I grew up buying a lot of packs as a kid. I miss wizards of the coast pokemon cards. As a child I always pulled a lot of Electrodes. I was lucky enough to pull a Charizard as a kid. I still have it and I still buy cards to the day!
I just wish I was able to have bought more cards when I was younger, I certainly like those cards way more than today's cards.
Getting back into Pokemon! And I stopped at the evolution set, so I'm catching up right now 😁

I hope they make some tins or blister packs for Evolutions! It is nice to see they reprinted the set, that way people who just started collecting Pokemon cards can have some cards from the Base Set can buy some packs for a much lower price than the original Base Set packs! I am hoping to get some of these as well, maybe I can get the Charizard holo.

Blister packs will definitely come with the set, new tins won't come out for awhile.

I'm going to get this booster box for Christmas and I really hope that I at least get 7-8 exs 5 exs and 2 break cards I've never opened one before I have a plush Pikachu that I love so much more than any other stuffed animal in the world I hope he gives me good luck and god is with me and gives me good luck I hope he does and I hope my cute awesome Pikachu that I love so much gives me good luck beginners luck I hope☺☺☺😃😄😄😄😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
I remember when we got that fat pikachu card in the VHS movie for the mewtwo movie (I think it was lol I'm old..), and how hyped we were about it. Good times.

I was so excited! I went to my nearest target and got the Charizard Trainer kit! The set up reminds me of a Pre-Release tournament. 8 packs, 5 of each energy plus some pokemon official Dice and really nice poison and burn tokens, plus 65 Evolutions sleeves.... I guess incase you loose some.
My pulls were... okay really. I got a MewTwo EX and a Slobro EX but no other holos besides that. I would have liked to see a Raichu like yours or anything. Got a lot of Nidoran Ms and Nidorinos but other than that, I can't really build a decent deck out of anything I pulled. I know this set is really made for nostalgia and collecting more than competitive battle but, still nothing in here really screams "Put me in a deck!"
It looks like base set pokemon but... the old Wizards of the Coast cards had a very specific Feel about them... and having the esthetic without the feel kind of ruins the experience of opening these cards. I know... if I wanted old cards, I should open old cards. (which I have... actually. I found some at a flea market and opened them before opening this box :P) I guess what I'm trying to say is... couldn't they have used the same artwork as the old cards but put them in the newer format?
Never the less... I am still pleased with the experience, the deck box is very professional and high quality built with starting collectors in mind. If you are new to collecting cards (Like I am since I sold all my older cards.... sort of a "reset") than this is the perfect way of jumping in head first!
I somewhat agree with you, when I first started opening Evolutions, the different style, especially the font, really stood out to me, but after opening a booster box, the only thing I dislike is that there is no holo of Blastoise and Venusaur.

talk about a nostalgia overload. Kudos to pokemon for reprinting the base set. It gives the new collectors an idea of how pokemon cards originally looked like as well as bringing back memories for old school collectors.

Omg I love evolutions
I'm so glad they buffed these cards, the original versions were quite weak in comparison, for example originally Machamp was 100hp and his Seismic Toss did only 60 for 4 energy, but now he has 160hp and Seismic Toss does 120 for 3 energy.
I like the idea quite a bit of doing that :)

Indeed, an amazing box overall.
Forgot they made a base set 'reprint'... I remember being so confused back when Base Set 2 came way back in the WOTC days, but maybe I'll have to pick some of these up to relive the base set.
Nice Vid! I think the BREAK cards don't work with this set. Also, if you'd like, you could separate the booster box into 4 parts so that each vid is less than 10 minutes long.

Nidoking was originally a grass type and one of my fondest memories. Personally I am not a fan of what they've done with psychic types.
One of my favorite looking holo cards from this set, but I would have liked seeing the types stay the same.
