Hey Mike.. a question. What's the function of the "check ball" and weight in this carburetor?? What happens if the ball does not seals well or if the seat is dirty or surface is irregular?

I don't have black spark plugs on my 1964 Galaxie with the 352 at sea level elevation. I was running a 2 barrel carb and had no pinging problems. I bought a 4100 1.12 carb off ebay and had it rebuilt. I should have looked at the jets when I did this 12 years ago. The 4 barrel gave me more power but now my engine pings. What should my jets read for the 1.12 carb for the 352 at sea level? An old time mechanic said to increase the jet size to stop the pingining - does this make sense? Love your website as i have bought parts for this carb form you in the past.
