what a cool idea for a anime. stamp men. they meet in the bus, and the older guy tells about his stampbook and the stories behind them. somehow the man forgets his book. the younger guy then finds out, that the book is magical and that he can dive into the stamps and travel back in time were the stamp was exchanged... from there a whole world of plots can be written...
🍻 I don't know about Czechoslovakian stamps in particular, but in the past a lot of paper glue (probably stamp glue as well) was made of almonds, so that might be why they were so delicious.
There’s a glue in Italy that contains bitter almonds, and that smells good. The package says it has potato starch for the glue and almond for fragrance.
The Mountain Retreat video is actually my favourite Abroad in Japan video :D my favourite part is were you ask your mountain guide if you were allowed to talk if a bear attacked you and he straight up says. "No." I perished
Dear Cruciferous Chris and Poaceous Pete, I have already listened to audio version of this episode and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am just here to give you my one insignificant viewcount on TH-cam. Thank you. Yours sincerely, Sayantan.
Japanese people do play board games. It's kind of a stereotype to play Life on New Year's, but they also have a lot of card games. Go to Loft and you'll see all the quick card games they have now. They've translated a lot of western boardgames as well. Like Catan and Monopoly. And there's even a boardgame café, Jelly Jelly Cafe that's quite popular. It's always full when I want to go 😅 They have so many games, and though most are in Japanese, they do have some with English instructions. I recommend you visiting if you like boardgames and don't have a big apartment to have friends over for a game night.
Hello affable Chris and same age Pete, currently I'm in Japan for the second time. Given that last year I did all the major cities going south all the way to Hiroshima from Tokyo. This year I've decided to go up north and visit places from Journey Across Japan non stop north which featured Fukushima. I booked a reservation in Okuma near Ono station and since I had 4 hours to pass before check in I decided to go for a walk. After navigating a labyrinth of construction sites with several workers screaming dame dame, I have set out for the 3/11 memorial. After a while I reached a check point with another set of construction workers blocking the road but with new site on sight trying to stop from proceeding. Have been fed up with my earlier interactions I've decided to hold my ground and told them that only the police would convince of going back. So they did and for some reason the secret service came with them. After a brief discussion and check up they convinced that this zone is off limits due to nuclear related reasons and that I need to delete all the pictures that I have taken for vacant buildings in the area since that was against the law. After all was cleared they asked me how I have arrived here to which in my limited japanese I said on foot and the since I've confirmed that this path is off limit I'll be heading to the Great East Japan Earthquake Memorial on foot. The guys lost it and one of the secret service agents went "good luck" in English as if I was doing the impossible. I thought that Japanese were big time walkers or have the new generation been so americanized that a mere 15 km of walking is considered an achievement? Also have you ever heard of this law about not taking pictures/entering abandoned buildings? Cheers from France and would love to meet you at the bar for when I eventually go back to Tokyo
It's always a must, to drop by one of the nearby smaller towns when you have a little over a week in Tokyo or Osaka. It gives the right balance of experience to the to the frenetic pace of these two big cities.
To answer the question about the endurance of airliners, the airplane is literally over 40% fuel by weight on takeoff for those long-distance flights. And then consider Apollo missions to the moon which were over 90% fuel.
It seems that you can lie down in Spacing Out competition. I was first wondering if all contestants were standing in lines or rows, but it seems that you can choose your style. It seems that they also used yellow and red cards to deliver warnings.
Chris wants learn about building planes go to experimental aircraft association fly in oshkosh Wisconsin. I never went but had friend heavily involved with it.
It's a soft-serve style Japanese ice cream confection. It's biggest gimmick was that it used to be packaged in those pyramid shaped tetra card containers that you tore the peak off to eat/suck it out. For many years now they have been sold in screw top poly bags. Think small I.V. Bags of ice cream. Like most Japanese products, they have seasonal flavours. Nothing particularly outstanding. But they travel well.

Pete's "whos making paper now" joke made me laugh so hard
The first Interaction sounded absolutely lovely. Would absolutely love to have an encounter such as that.

Pete, Petter from Mentour Pilot has eased my fear of flying yet I still watch The Flight Channel and get scared again 😂 and yes, he's from Sweden.
Love Pete
I prefer Chris 😂
I always listen but today I will watch as well! Love this podcast!!!

I lived in Taiwan for a few years. Maybe I’ll make a video about why I left… there aren’t enough of those videos on TH-cam!
They have pitchforks but they only bring them out during a rice shortage.
I know it's Calpis, but I still heard "cow piss" 18:54
I want to go to Ehime one day I will make it happen!
But today I go on the Shinkansen for the first time to Kyoto! 🙏

The man on the bench looked properly "bummed out" to see it.
man Jet lag sucks, its been a week and i'm still trying to get over it. worth the trip though.
Yea it’s brutal not looking forward to returning to the UK after six months travel in Asia it’s going to be tough!
Mt. Asahidake is my recommendation for a nature retreat
thought they were going to talk about their nights out in Tokyo
I just happen to be on a flight while watching this, and they start talking about plane disasters lol. The odds!
Genuinely, Japan is so far away from the UK that I didn't get the lag flying to Tokyo or back. Conversely, flying home from Canada breaks me. Weird.
Ah, Pete spent his youth licking glue? It's all starting to come together now
don‘t lose your fear of helicopters, they‘re sketchy and are actually dangerous
Pilots switching off the wrong engine? Must be British Midland Flight 92
More like a transition from Millennium Actress. Great anime.
Hahaha, planes fly on money and magic. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. (And that's a pilot's trade secret)

Why purchase B&W headphones when you could have purchased some Japanese headphone brands, e.g., Fostex or Stax?
