Man always love your videos. You have great energy and joy for this amazing sport. And the info on the switch from euro to a dry fly was awesome. Thank you.
Same question. What line are you throwing? The challenge of switching for me has always been the euro lines. I tend to fish a longer leader to keep the regular (not euro) fly line on the reel and not sagging, then switch to a real dry fly leader if I hit a hatch. Spool up the euro leader on something.
I am running a double taper 2wt...it allows me switch techniques, like in this situation. I still keep my leader proportions within the FIPS Mouche dimensions, just in case I called back to compete 😂
Love the video, my favorite way to fly fish is with dry flies and I’m interested in picking up a euro rod. Would you recommend a 2wt or a 3wt rod that would be used for euro nymphing and dries? I’m fishing similar water size + fish size
If you want to be able to transition between techniques, I recommend getting the 3 wt. A 2wt will mostly suited for euro nymphing, due to its incredible sensitivity. You'll see in my other vids where I'm nymphing I gravitate to my 10'6" 3wt for most situations. Thanks for watching!
Great video and great positioning of the camera. I could see the rising fish and the take perfectly!
Always like your input in your videos. They always help me try different things in different situations and help me catch more fish.

Awesome Norm!
Nice video, enjoyed the take on the dry fly!
Thanks 👍
Can you provide some info on the wax you put on the sighter? Does it help it stay on top of the water?

Why do you go down 1 size of fly line on a 3wt? And what brand of fly line is your choice? Thanks for all you do helping us learn.
Are you fishing with a euro line there or a thicker floating line?

I too would like to know what kind of line you were running on that rig. It seemed to cast really well for a euro set up
Double taper 2wt is what I am running on the reel. Thanks for watching.
do you use a custom made euro line or a branded euro line?
The fly line is a double taper 2wt. I don't use any specific double taper. It allows me enough mass to make such casts. Thanks for watching!
And this is with your double tapered Euro nymphing line you've talked about before, yeah?
yessir double taper 2wt
