Resident Evil is a 2002 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom for the GameCube. It is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first installment in the Resident Evil video game series. The story takes place in 1998 near the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City where a series of bizarre murders have taken place. The player takes on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S. officers sent in by the city and the R.P.D. to investigate the murders.
Resident Evil was developed over the course of one year and two months as part of an exclusivity deal between Capcom and Nintendo. It was directed by Shinji Mikami, who also designed and directed the original Resident Evil. Mikami decided to produce a remake because he felt that the original had not aged well enough and that the GameCube's capabilities could bring it closer to his original vision. The game retains the same graphical presentation, with 3D models superimposed over pre-rendered backgrounds. However, the quality of the graphics was vastly improved. The remake also features new gameplay mechanics, revised puzzles, additional explorable areas, a revised script, and new story details including an entire subplot cut from the original game.

recuerdo cuando salio este juego para gamecube, yo no la tenia. tenia ps2. Y vi screenshots en una revista, en esa epoca no tenia internet en mi casa. Cuando vi esas imagenes no podia creer lo que veian. Y fue tan adelantado que juraria que este remake se ve exactamente igual al de gamecube. Este juego en mi opion fue mucho mas que un remake.

6:17:49 In the biology room, were there's a letter to Alma, when playing as Jill there's a scene where Barry is there first and the top of the letter is torn off. I had a theory that he was getting rid of evidence because Wesker must have threatened him before or during the mansion incident. The top beginning of the letter says something about a man in sunglasses. Maybe Wesker?

This is the original version for Nintendo Gamecube, and it hasn't changed anything at all and it looks the same as it did years ago when it came out for GC. oh and the video is from the version for shitstation 4 not 5, it's crap.

is it the grapahics. because at many points there seem to be too much grungy pixelated textures.
we needed something like re2 or re4 remake with a third person view
@ well it could be, that's where the remake didn't have aged well
well i can tell you:
first i would liked some different weapons , one instead of the barely useful one shot derringer and there's two pump shotguns, that's too much. one would've been a double barrel and the other the pump one when we save richard aiken.
i would have liked a little more of new enemies instead there's only lisa trevor , too bad
the voice acting lacked of energy (less corny than the original but still underplayed) and i would also make some other comparisons compared to the original game
Why's the PS4 version still locked at 30fps whereas Steam version can be played up to 120fps?
