We shouldn't wear Tulsi mala if we are still consuming Non-veg and Tamsik food. Otherwise it will be disrespect to a great Vaishnava like Tulsi Devi. I had visited ISKCON during the recent ekadashi and bought one round of kanti as I do not know how many rounds to wear and so on.

If you have Compulsion on eating garlic and onion try to consume less and less make some recipes without onion and garlic twice or thrice in a week this step will help you to get some comfort and most important chant the name: Chant the name of whatever God you like. And all the time this kanthi reminds us that we are in bondage to the Lord. Just like Saubhagyavati's Mangalsutra, all the time - proving to outsiders as well as myself - that I am Saubhagyavati, similarly it is Mangalsutra for us that I am bound by Hari's slavery, this kanthi is tied for them only, this is Mangalsutra. Hari is our dearest, we are enslaved to Hari, this kanthi is the symbol of this.. So respect it too - assume that, we are standing somewhere in such a dirty place wearing a kanthi, we have met dirty people: look at the kanthi tied - Have applied tilak, man….. should be a little ashamed - such people say and even say, so this one should protect his modesty too, keep food and drink properly, chant the name and it is very good - good luck It is that this symbol of Hari's servitude, Shri Kanthi is worn around his neck and should be done.... I wear tulshi mala , and do bad things 3 time, instantly I got 3 punishment like first I burnt my hand large area with hot oil , second time I lost my phone on same day , third time again I lost my phone. Well the reason why our sants say that don’t wear tulsi Mala if you are eating onion and garlic is : onion and garlic are extremely hot for our body which makes a person angry because of its hot quality and a person who is heading towards the devotion of the god should not get angry. That person should be calm. In our sanatan dharm we see that our sadhu-sants are very calm because they do not prefer to eat onion and garlic because they know this fact.
Don’t worry you can wear kanthi Mala even after eating onion and garlic as it is up to us that we stay calm or not
And if we get ill sometimes we eat medicine right,and every ayurvedic medicine is made up of garlic.according to ayurvedic doctors it’s Amrit for us. That’s up to us if we believe their sayings or not.
And we should remember and never forget that tulsi Mala is the purest thing in our sanatan dharm and their is no rule and limitations to start stepping forward towards god just avoid drugs and beer etc. also non veg because our Krishna loves animals and he never taught us to kill and eat an animal just for our 2-3 minutes taste as we are killing them and destroying their whole life for our few minutes tongue taste.
Lastly in our ghrants it is mentioned that there is no limitation to wear tulsi Mala as it removes our sins of each birth

My parents put a tulsi mala around my neck when I was 3 months old, where it was not my decision and I didn't even know what I was wearing. But, now that I am in my professional life, I am having occasional drink and non veg. And now I started liking non veg food.

Kanthi is basically symbolically a renunciation method , it symbolises that one has renounced all kind of worldly consumption materials like gold chain , silver , diamond. This is the main core philosophy...I can see simplicity and expression of peace in your face and that's 1000 times more expensive .... Read it anytime you are free. But keep BG in a neat and clean place. Any other doubts you can ask a devotee in the temple.

Hare Krishna Mataji, as tea contains caffeine which comes under tamasik. That's why it's not allowed to intake tea and coffee.

What happens if you remove your Tulsi mala for some occasion,
Is it ok to eat non veg while you are wearing a Tulsi mala,
You shouldn't remove it.But if it get broken get a new one....And eating non veg is not right..while wearing kanthi

Same. The info she has provided is highly inaccurate. Out of respect for Tulsirani, one doesn't wear her while eating tamasik aahaar. Better to chant on neem or other wood mala when constantly eating tamasik food.

सभी कंठी माला धारण कर सकते हैं, उसमें खास बात है कि हम, भले ही दीक्षा ना लेकर - बृंदा सखी को तुलसी जी को गले में धारण किए हुए हैं, तो हम कोई अभक्ष्य पदार्थ ना खाए, कोई अभक्ष्य पेय ना पिएं और कोई शास्त्र विरुद्ध आचरण ना करें।
क्योंकि अब बृंदा सखी हमारे प्रतीपल साथ हैं - वो हमारी रक्षा करेंगी, कुछ भी भुल से अगर हम अमनिया खा लेते हैं - तो गले के नीचे जाते ही प्रसादी हो जाता है...कंठी विराजमान हैं। अगर चूक होती है तो संभालती हैं, कोई भी - किसी भी तरह का अमंगल उसे स्पर्श नहीं कर सकता जिसके गले में श्री तुलसी जी विराजमान हैं... सावधानी यही रखनी कि अभक्ष्य पदार्थ नहीं पाना और... जैसे आप कंठी बांधे हुए है तो...मरण सूतक आदि में वो जो होता है तेरहीं आदि फिर उसमें थोड़ा सावधान रहें वो न पाएं.... क्योंकि बृंदा सखी विराजमान हैं ब्राह्मणों को पवाने के बाद अगर तेराहं दिन के बाद, फिर वो तो कोई बात नहीं लेकिन उस पंक्त में या उस उत्सव में वो प्रसाद आदि न पावें, भले दीक्षा ना ली हो - यदि कंठी बांधे हैं तो इतना निर्वाह करना चाहिए और दूसरी खास बात है - नाम जप करना चाहिए: जो भी प्रभु का आपको नाम प्रिय हो वो नाम जप करना चाहिए और हर समय यह कंठी हमें स्मृति दिलाती है, कि हम प्रभु के दासत्व से युक्त हैं। जैसे सौभाग्यवती को मंगलसूत्र, हर समय - बाहरी लोगों को और अपने को भी प्रमाणित - कि मैं सौभाग्यवती हूं, ऐसे ही हमारे लिए मंगलसूत्र है कि मैं हरी के दासत्व से युक्त हूं, ये कंठी उन्हीं के लिए बांधी जाती है ये मंगलसूत्र है। हरी हमारे प्रियतम हैं हरी के हम दासत्व से युक्त हैं, ये कंठी इसी का प्रतीक है.. तो इसकी भी इज्जत रखें - मानलियो कंठी बांधे हुए हम कहीं ऐसी गन्दी जगह खड़े हैं, गन्दे लोगों से मिले हुए हैं: देखो कंठी बांधे है - तिलक लगाएं हैं , यार.... थोड़ी तो शर्म आनी चाहिए - ऐसे लोग कह देते हैं कह भी देते हैं, तो यह इसकी थोड़ी मरयादा की भी रक्षा करें, खान-पान ठीक रखें, नाम जप करें और बहुत बढ़िया है - सौभाग्य है कि हरी के दासत्व का ये प्रतीक श्री कंठी को अपने गले पे धारण किए हैं और करना ही चाहिए.... मनुष्य जीवन मिला ही है - मंगलमई श्री हरि को रिझाने के लिए।
