Humpback Whales: Long Beach Island, NJ (October 12, 2022)

I had heard reports of whales spotted between Seaside Heights NJ and Atlantic City NJ. I found a whale tracker app and it looked like Long Beach Island was a good spot. I got to Brandt Beach NJ around noon and it was very sunny. I used 2 drones and shot about an hour and a half of footage to only get enough good footage to string this together.
These guys are FAST. You see them, they dive down, they surface 1000 feet away. At the closest I would say they were 700 feet from shore.
Having randomly stumbled on a whale eating in the Hamptons this summer I was determined to get another encounter.
Pretty much all summer I've seen pictures and heard stories of whale encounters close to shore from Montauk NY to Ocean City MD. We can thank the strong schools of Menhaden for the abundance of sea life!

Thanks for sharing! My cousin and I just saw some whales at LBI on a lovely Sunday morning and I was so excited! Great to get to see a video of some recent ones too!

Try walking from LBI to Mount Holly[wood] N.J., Left out on the causeway by locals after impoundment of vehicle for a DUI with no one driving a vehicle bottomed out in the sand and no alcohol possession and not intoxicated.
How so? Too simple. Then you get the court appointed lawyer who is a major link in New Jersey bureaucracy, unelected overseers.
