Gatlinburg is my favorite getaway spot. You should have gone in The Christmas Place and picked up a special ornament. I can spend hours in there!!! So much flooding the last 3 years or so.

Unfortunately it's hard to go during the spring , summer and fall months now because of the crowds. Can't resist a visit to Cades Cove but wow, last time it was 2 hours to do the loop. We did see three bears though.
