Yeah it's pretty genius to have an ability to be able to adapt to any attack you can survive a hit from initially, especially if you are already physically strong and durable like Mahoraga, making it even more wild that Sukuna figured this out and decided to stop playing and do a guaranteed one shot with something it had never seen before. You can't adapt to something that instantly vaporises you 😂
The thing about Mahoraga is more you fight it stronger it gets. So it matches your strength and in order to kill it you have to up your game faster than it can adapt to it.
It adapts to your to all curse techniques, but at no point it adapt to surpass sukuna's level of speed and strength , mahoraga only manage to keep up a little.

There is so much technical stuff going on in this episode! Sukuna does not have a closed shell for his domain, Malevolent Shrine sits in its proper dimensions on the ground. Because he chooses to expand his domain like that, it’s possible for you to walk out of it, so Sukuna can employ a Binding Vow to enlarge its diameter. Also, Mahoraga adapts to *phenomena* NOT CT applications. This means if he adapts to Jogo’s fire attacks, he automatically adapts to all fire based CTs that work the same way. That's why Maho survived Sukuna's domain: he already adapted to *slashes* as a whole.
Also something that not many ppl noticed, but when Sukuna said "you can see my technique", it was because he noticed that when Sukuna used Cleave(which attacks things with cursed energy), Mahoraga would block it with objects, like the train, or turn off his cursed energy to block, and when Sukuna used Dismantle(which attacks things without cursed energy), Mahoraga would imbue itself with cursed energy. Meaning Mahoraga had already seen and understood Sukuna's techniques just after a few uses in the beginning of the fight.

It's more complicated than that, Mahoraga adapts to the specific attack he's subjected to, but if this adaptation can help him in any other situation, he still gets to use it. So if he adapts to Jogo's fire, depending on *how* he adapts, it might protect him from Sukuna's fire, or it might not because Sukuna's fire is different and stronger in some way. For example if the adaptation he choses is to turn in skin into a material whose fusion point is higher than Jogo's temperature but lower than Sukuna's temperature, adapting to Jogo's flames wouldn't protect him against Sukuna's. But if he somehow became completely fireproof against Jogo, it would work just as well againt Sukuna.
Don't think I've seen someone mention this but the slicing chop pause Sukuna does in the middle of the fight was a feint so he taught Mahoraga to adapt to the phenomena of "lying" thus adapting to any "lies"

It's not explicitly stated and at most it confirms Sukuna was just trying to mess the timing on mahogara. Considering Maho adapts to everything he would have started adapting to faints but the fight wasn't as long as here.
When u notice: Megumi tried to release this beast 3 times in the first season and either got interrupted or changed his mind.... He tried to use this the very first eps against 1 finger Sukuna....

When i fisrt watched it, I remember getting mad with the music at the end, bc it broke the sad mood the itadori was feeling. But the more I rewatch it, more I feel the music representing Sukuna laughing at itadori situation. It started to make sense
I have so many things to say about this episode, but since other people will tell you about the differences between BlueRay and original and at what point mahoraga adapts to what, I‘ll focus on the part I see talked about less: The music. Specifically the track "maleavolent shrine“. In the first season, I was a bit confused about Sukuna‘s character. He‘s without a doubt the most narcissistic psychopath murderer of all time, but his clothes when he‘s in his innate domain sort of read as "priest“ to me. Coupled with the fact his domain is called malevolent shrine, that left me a bit confused because I could not imagine Sukuna believing in any sort of higher power (than himself). As soon as he used his domain here, the track burst into what I can only describe as a chorus of souls. It (to me) sounds like they are haunting their murderer and crying for mercy, yet they almost sound worshipping of a god of some kind. Right then, I understood. Sukuna has two faces, that‘s not a priestly trait, but a divine one. HE is the god of the malevolent shrine and his offerings are the screams of the innocent as they get slaughtered by forces beyond their comprehension. Bravo to the composers, I‘ve never had a piece of music fill in the blanks in my understanding of a show.
This was one of the best fight scenes in anime history. The pure destructing and the brutality of Sukuna was portrayed so masterfully in this episode and it's praiseworthy and the ost that they used in the episode at 6:58 is called "thunderclap" which I believe that everyone will agree was perfect for this fight. I'm glad you two chose to react to the bluray version of the episode.
13:24 Sukuna didn’t kill him. He got caught up in the aftereffects of the fading Domain and a stray slice cut his head. In essence, he was just ridiculously UNLUCKY. Edit: 15:27 I haven’t seen anything better in terms of pure action either, except for the Dragon Ball series. (That’s just incomparably good though so I guess it doesn’t count lol.)
Thats sooooo not true sukuna's domain was already off if it wasn't that blond guy would have disappeared like everyone inside the domain radius including buildings sukuna's domain doesn't throw 1 slash and it's done lol not its millions of slashes coming at you. @@EternalFlame74 The thing is, there's a difference from a regular Limitless + Six Eyes user and Gojo. Satoru is undobtedly the strongest person to ever wield the CT. Sorcerers like Sukuna and Gojo appear very very rarely since they are the perfect combination of intelligence, jujutsu knowledge, innate talent and insatiable hunger for growth. They are also very innovative and thinking outside the box (especially Sukuna). Both of them are pretty much the perfect sorcerers, the pinnacle of jujutsu. So yeah, Mahoraga might have been the reason the Six Eyes + Limitless Gojo clan leader died in the past, but Satoru is different.
Bcz when he understood that nobody is coming to save him and he is going to die, he only had power to unleash a shikigami so he thought this will do all work

Just a note: Sukuna didn’t actually kill Haruta, at least directly. He ran into the range of Sukuna’s domain, which hadn’t fully dissipated yet, so he got caught by a stray instance of cleave that was still flying around.
You are wrong,the domain already ended and Sukuna killed Haruta cause he thought Haruta was a piece of sh**. If the domain was on then Haruta would be into pieces. Instead he had just a vertical manual cut.
There is One thing that I find terrifying about mahoraga. It’s not his design nor his ability (basically Charles Darwin’s theory 😂). It’s his laugh and his smile. This… thing laugh while being destroyed. While growing. And when sukuna undertsands his technique he has a BIG smile like « yeah you Know my ability… so what ? What you gonna do ? ». If sukuna is the king of Curses and Rika is the Queen I think we find the prince of curses. (I Know it’s not a curse but a shikigami but you get the idea)
Easily one of the coolest moments in the entire series (thats animated lol) so hard not to love Sukuna even with how evil the mf is dude is such a beast
the reason mahoraga was punching the air in some scenes is because he was anticipating sukuna to slice his limbs off and send them flying towards him as an attack. basically sukuna started faking him out by looking like he'd throw a slice, but he'd actually throw it later. since mahoraga could no longer tell when he was actually gonna throw a slice or if he was gonna fake it, he started punching the air. after that, mahoraga adapted and did something similar. mahoraga faked out sukuna by throwing a fake punch making sukuna block in a certain direction, then mahoraga would throw a real punch from another direction. this actually made sukuna happy because he felt like he had corrupted a divine being by teaching it how to lie. (all this was stated in the animators notes for the episode) such a peak fight especially when you fully understand what you're seeing🔥🔥
I have yet to see anyone comment this. Maho was also adapting combat wise. An example of this is, if you slow down before the sukuna fake out scene. Maho is putting his limbs in the perfect position for sukunas slices to cut it off thus sending it flying to sukuna. He does this multiple times and is the reason sukuna starts faking him out.
Not sure if someone pointed this out to you already, but from about 8:17 Sukuna actually starts throwing feints, without actually attacking. This is to force a reaction out of Mahoraga, which it does. Mahoragas wheel spins as it is trying to comprehend what Sukuna is doing, and at 9:00 (even though you cut it out here) Mahoraga finally figures it out and throws its own feint at Sukuna and then proceeds to finally land a massive strike. Sukuna is elated because he feels as though he has taught a celestial being how to 'lie' or be deceptive.
If you remember, a few other times in the series, Megumi has started saying the sacred treasure Incantation. He was planning on using this guy there as well, but for one reason or another stopped
The ossuary in the opening (place to put the ashes of people to rest) that Yuji was despairing over came from this: Sukuna killing thousands(!) of people in his two fights. Only because Yuji lost to Choso...
mahoraga’s ability is adaptation aka the wheel, the longer you fight it he gets stronger against you because he like takes notes and reviews, thinks and adapts until he basically knows how to counter that attack, so basically just pure “give me some time trust”. adaptation

Its the week-end, i got no homeworks to do, its raining outside but its warm in my room, at night eating my favorite meal in front of the new Haylo & Kiss video. World, what did i ever do to obtain this kind of reward, a heavenly gift from god himself😭
The whole fight was really cool on my first watch, but the true highlight has to be the ending with sukuna revealing the amount of chaos he can cause in mere seconds of being in control.
I heard one of the buildings that got destroyed during Sukuna's fight with Mahoraga was a blueprint of a Mappa building, basically a huge middle finger by the overworked animators towards Mappa itself lol
When I first read Shibuya incident arc I thought it will be 1 thing. Just a small reminder that all of this that happend is still a part of The Shibuya incident.😅
This is one of if not the hardest fights in anime to actually follow wtf is happening. Sure the animation team was being acrewed and we only see 40% of what this should have been, but even then. The details that were fully fleshed out and the chaos and carnage makes it hard to follow. Its actually very realistic for how lower level side characters probably see allot of fights.

This was one of the best fight scenes in anime history. The pure destructing and the brutality of Sukuna was portrayed so masterfully in this episode and it's praiseworthy and the ost that they used in the episode at 6:58 is called "thunderclap" which I believe that everyone will agree was perfect for this fight. I'm glad you two chose to react to the bluray version of the episode.

@@EternalFlame74 The thing is, there's a difference from a regular Limitless + Six Eyes user and Gojo. Satoru is undobtedly the strongest person to ever wield the CT. Sorcerers like Sukuna and Gojo appear very very rarely since they are the perfect combination of intelligence, jujutsu knowledge, innate talent and insatiable hunger for growth. They are also very innovative and thinking outside the box (especially Sukuna). Both of them are pretty much the perfect sorcerers, the pinnacle of jujutsu. So yeah, Mahoraga might have been the reason the Six Eyes + Limitless Gojo clan leader died in the past, but Satoru is different.

Just a note: Sukuna didn’t actually kill Haruta, at least directly. He ran into the range of Sukuna’s domain, which hadn’t fully dissipated yet, so he got caught by a stray instance of cleave that was still flying around.

There is One thing that I find terrifying about mahoraga. It’s not his design nor his ability (basically Charles Darwin’s theory 😂). It’s his laugh and his smile. This… thing laugh while being destroyed. While growing. And when sukuna undertsands his technique he has a BIG smile like « yeah you Know my ability… so what ? What you gonna do ? ». If sukuna is the king of Curses and Rika is the Queen I think we find the prince of curses.

the reason mahoraga was punching the air in some scenes is because he was anticipating sukuna to slice his limbs off and send them flying towards him as an attack. basically sukuna started faking him out by looking like he'd throw a slice, but he'd actually throw it later. since mahoraga could no longer tell when he was actually gonna throw a slice or if he was gonna fake it, he started punching the air. after that, mahoraga adapted and did something similar. mahoraga faked out sukuna by throwing a fake punch making sukuna block in a certain direction, then mahoraga would throw a real punch from another direction. this actually made sukuna happy because he felt like he had corrupted a divine being by teaching it how to lie. (all this was stated in the animators notes for the episode) such a peak fight especially when you fully understand what you're seeing🔥🔥

I have yet to see anyone comment this. Maho was also adapting combat wise. An example of this is, if you slow down before the sukuna fake out scene. Maho is putting his limbs in the perfect position for sukunas slices to cut it off thus sending it flying to sukuna. He does this multiple times and is the reason sukuna starts faking him out.
Not sure if someone pointed this out to you already, but from about 8:17 Sukuna actually starts throwing feints, without actually attacking. This is to force a reaction out of Mahoraga, which it does. Mahoragas wheel spins as it is trying to comprehend what Sukuna is doing, and at 9:00 (even though you cut it out here) Mahoraga finally figures it out and throws its own feint at Sukuna and then proceeds to finally land a massive strike. Sukuna is elated because he feels as though he has taught a celestial being how to 'lie' or be deceptive.
If you remember, a few other times in the series, Megumi has started saying the sacred treasure Incantation. He was planning on using this guy there as well, but for one reason or another stopped
The ossuary in the opening (place to put the ashes of people to rest) that Yuji was despairing over came from this: Sukuna killing thousands(!) of people in his two fights. Only because Yuji lost to Choso...
Studio had ONE WEEK to do all of this and even the unfinished product was beautiful

mahoraga’s ability is adaptation aka the wheel, the longer you fight it he gets stronger against you because he like takes notes and reviews, thinks and adapts until he basically knows how to counter that attack, so basically just pure “give me some time trust”. adaptation

The whole fight was really cool on my first watch, but the true highlight has to be the ending with sukuna revealing the amount of chaos he can cause in mere seconds of being in control.
I heard one of the buildings that got destroyed during Sukuna's fight with Mahoraga was a blueprint of a Mappa building, basically a huge middle finger by the overworked animators towards Mappa itself lol

When I first read Shibuya incident arc I thought it will be 1 thing. Just a small reminder that all of this that happend is still a part of The Shibuya incident.😅
This is one of if not the hardest fights in anime to actually follow wtf is happening. Sure the animation team was being acrewed and we only see 40% of what this should have been, but even then. The details that were fully fleshed out and the chaos and carnage makes it hard to follow.
Its actually very realistic for how lower level side characters probably see allot of fights.
