I hadn't heard this song since I was like 20, I am now 37. It was my favorite song as a teen. Hearing it as an adult hit so differently and I freakin sobbed hearing it.
I hate when people have to comment on a video and complain. if you don't like his voice don't listen. Saves the day has been around for a long time. loyal fans!
thats interesting. They went to my high school, PDS, and when I was in 6th grade the drummer's mom taught my social studies clasa and brought the whole band in before they were big to talk and perform to our class. They sounded incrediblyh similar 9 years ago
i found saves the day in 2005 at warp tour my favorite band at the time was senses fail chris played before he blew me away then senses fail played and i was like man buddy nelson (i think thats his name) sucks compard to chris and im still a std fan prob for life now
@chriswright780 Haha yah there are quite a lot of similarities in their voice now that you point it out. Thats not a bad thing though. I love both singers.
just because you change your vocal style doesn't mean its still not saves the day. His voice has just matured a lot.. and weakened a little. In reverie was a great album.. I felt that was very saves the day like.
Just because you know them personally does not mean you need to get your ears cleaned out if you haven't noticed how nasally his voice has gotten. I know he's always had a high-pitched unrefined voice, but he's singing from his head now. Not my cup of tea.
did you really just compare Chris Conley to the singer from Simple Plan...you should be ashamed of yourself for even taking the effort to type that mindless comment.
and just because this is actually Chris Conley doesn't mean i have to like what he does with his voice now. This is Not An Exit is probably my favorite STD song and this version is just awful.
I get that, but the guy from Simple Plan is nowhere near as genius as Chris. You shouldn't discredit him for it by comparing him to some guy from some crappy Pop band.
he is not singing in a different key or anything. He is just putting that punk twang on it, but it sounds so forced. There are two types of fans, those who will love anything the band does no matter what, or those that hold the musicians accountable for their mistakes as well as laud them for their successes. I'm one of the latter. CSD, TBC, and SWYA are great albums, and they were good live. They no longer are.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. The man is a underappreciated genius.
I fell in love with this song twenty something years ago and once again tonight. I want this played on my deathbed. 🎉
True gem of a song, I tear up a little bit when I see them play it live

Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to find material as finally written as this nowadays.
I ran into Chris in a bar. He is such a nice person. I was very impressed with his graciousness
listend to this song over and over and over this summer after a friend of mine killed herself. It holds a special place in my heart. STD
My absolute favorite song by them in an absolute perfect setting.
My favorite song from "Stay what you are"
Ahhhh....nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia
This was one of the best low key tours of all time...saw them in SF and it was mind-blowing.
Definitely agree. Saw them in Philly in what I remember as a tiny club. Maybe 300 total people.
This is my favorite and I'm sad there aren't more views
Agreed. Great music. I saw them last year a few times and they were great.

A song for the soundtrack of a generation
Still love you guys Chris

awesome song
people dont write lyrics like this anymore....SMH...one of my all time favorite tunes
That was really f'n good
Simply brilliant
Chris has always had a nasally type voice, it is amazing. If you don't like it your taste is terrible.
Nice i miss waterstreet
Great band!
Wow just wow
he had to change his voice to save it, you know, so he could continue singing for years to come.
beautiful song
one of my fav bands growing up but what happend to his voice?
Man this muaic is so relevant in 2014
2024
@chriswright780 Haha yah there are quite a lot of similarities in their voice now that you point it out. Thats not a bad thing though. I love both singers.
Man the outro of this song....
errr...thats the guy that wrote it dude....Chris Conley, lead singer of Saves the Day himself....
the best song in the album besides at your funeral
pop crawler see you
Cars & Calories is by far the best...I love them all though!
chris's voice changes on every album
I miss David.... and their old drummer. He's off being an offspring, yeah an offspring of saves the day...
somewhere along the line he started to sound like someone trying to cover Saves the Day. Probably In Reverie.
LET ME. TOUR OUE'S JERSEY
are there more?
just because you change your vocal style doesn't mean its still not saves the day. His voice has just matured a lot.. and weakened a little. In reverie was a great album.. I felt that was very saves the day like.
@tracitay51 chris conley being compared to simple plan should result in prison time
ummm, his voice changed, kinda like he has some mocus inside his nose or sumtin...
i still love his voice, but "in reverie"... this was his best "vocal-time"
wish he'd sing like that back again :I

guitarist looks like john nolan from Taking Back Sunday
when did billy corgan join STD?

don't*
woah...he sounds so different. Kind of whiny. The song's good though.

@hiles2010 not really, his voice here kinda ruins the song

whiney huh?
STD STD STD! haha sounds so wrong
I bet his voice would sound good if he would just improvise to what it sounds like now. Instead of imitating what he used to do with his "old" voice.
He does sound nasal/whiny.
Alyk4ri I remember my first beer, don't worry kid you'll grow to like it with enough.
Scot Stephenson love your response 👍
