#4 starve fear by removing time out of the equation. What a great way to frame getting things done. Gives more oomph to the 2minute game and lining up your dominoes for chaining success! I have to mention that this format is the most enjoyable, not that the other video styles aren't also out of this world. But it's something about seeing you in front of the blackboard which gives me the visual queue to really absorb the knowledge you provide us. I also find it very helpful when you scribble small notes on the side. Thanks again for all the awesomeness. Cheers!
I never endorse books and 95% of the books I read I would NOT recommend to other people. READ. THIS. BOOK. For those looking to build business or build up a similar venture this book is for you. Grant's personality isn't what I am typically drawn to but this guy is on to something and if you can get past the personality you will truly benefit from this book. I've deployed the advice in this book and it's already been the best single resource I've found of 2016. I basically took all my goals and multiplied them by 10, this causes you to think even bigger and although you might not reach the big goal 30% of a 10x goal is still far better than the original 1x goal. This is a no frills, inspirational guideline of how to make things happen for your dreams. Absolutely loved this book.
Thank you Brian, I appreciate you and your life work. Conditioning myself to take massive action is a big one. To just get it done and move on instead of allowing things to just pile up in life. I have become obsessed with removing unnecessary things in my life and organization. Because with disciplined, consistent and persistent effort. I am bound to be the man I ought to be, bound to be the man I ought to be.
Incredible video. Came down with some nasty flu so I've been watching TH-cam videos all day. Thank god I came upon this one. Good ideas in only 10 minutes. Thanks!
My 13 year old autistic son reads 10 pages per day, 6 days per week, regardless of his school homework. He writes about what he is reading daily also. I do the same thing, but I do 15 to 20 pages per day. He reads more than most of his teachers, and enjoys doing it. I'm not talking about children's books either. I'm talking, rich dad poor dad, richest man in Babylon, think and grow rich, 10x everything, etc. I'm making sure he learns what school or my parents never thought me at a early age. Readers are leaders, we have a collection of great books and a collection of journals also. Your video was on point, thanks for sharing it with us :))
Thank you so much Brian! You summarized "The 10X Rule" very well. I hate to admit it but i do procrastinate calling prospective clients out of fear that i may screw up my pitch and lose their interest....so i keep working on my pitch and end up never making that call :(
Rohit Jadhav Hi Rohit: Thanks for your kind words. We all procrastinate at different times on different things. You might like this as well: brianjohnson.me/philosophers-notes/the-art-of-taking-action/
Good video, dude. My pulse got racing when you said "Does your potential match your ambition?" and then you said, if that doesn't get your pulse racing. Lol. That is a big challenge to answer that question. Love how time feeds of fear. That's incredibly observant.
Love this book, great review for me :). Thanks Brian for sharing it. The big idea I liked the most was #4 starving fear by removing time out of the equation. I've been applying it since I've read the book. Love your infomercial at the end of the video :) Let's Spartan up!
great video once again :) I'm not sure if you've made a video about this topic, but I'd like to hear your thoughts about dealing with guilt and growing from mistakes
Vaishnavi Kannan Thank you!! We talk about growing from mistakes in different videos but I'll make some Micro Classes on it as well! Here's one you might like: brianjohnson.me/philosophers-notes/the-pursuit-of-perfect/
Hey I just read this book! It's so motivating! It really makes you question whether you're really putting in the work or not! Great summary review too Subscribed:)
Hi Brian. I think your channel is awesome! I have a comment on starving fear. What if I use Gradualism (The art of taking action - Gregg Krech) to starve fear. Wouldn't time be an ally? I think procrastination is fears favorite food. What are your thoughts...
Brian, I consider myself an inteligent person, I can collect a lot of information, apply it, and even change my way of thinking, many people can´t or don't know how to do that, But the thing here is that I wasnt born with this chip of energy some people have, like grant and some people I know, could you suggest something for that, why are there people with high levels of energy, I am positive I am focused, but Im impressed by grants energy levels, sometimes and many times I just feel lazy, what do you think about this?
The 10x Rule is not clear to me. Does it literally mean put forth 10 times the amount of activity that others did? For example, the standard bench pressing weight of my opponents is that they're pushing 250 lbs. So is it simply what it says it is: 10 times the actions of other people. So I should just bench press 2,500 lbs?
I believe that "10x-ing" is actually about making your goals AND 10x more than what you think you're capable of. The biggest mistake most people make in life is not setting goals high enough. When you 10x, you're expanding what you think you're capable of, and that space allows you to take action that you might not have thought was possible. So for Bench press, it's not about 10xing the weight per say. You can set a lofty goal.. and then find out how you can take 10x more action to achieve your goal (maybe that's recovering better, having professional nutrition, any marginal gains you can think of!) For me, I used to set a goal of playing low level pro soccer some day, and when I 10x-ed my goal, I really was able to make a push towards playing at the highest level and even if I didn't make it playing on Bayern Munich, I landed on some great opportunities along the journey. :) Hope that helps! -Zak | Team Optimize Optimize is now free! I felt like inorder to maintain this level of energy , the fire, it takes massive amount of mental and physical resources to be burned. Seems like it takes insane amount of coffee just to be in that zone.
