What I notice is that if it has something to do with sports or music you’ll see a lot of black people but when it whatever the topic is deal with beauty or things like that black people are very not on the list if it’s not Beyoncé or Nicki Minaj even though there’s lots of others. I know for me, our high school girl's varsity practice is about three hours long every day and we play almost 7 months of the year with the school plus travel teams and private skill practices in the remaining months. We're assigned film for every team we play and given scouting reports in order to know how to play the other team.

      Most decorated Olympian, yes. Greatest, very debatable. The top medal winners list is dominated by swimmers and gymnasts as they simply have more events and therefore more chances to win medals.
      Someone else could be the best in their sport by a wide margin, but only get one opportunity every four years to win a medal. Even say the swimmer with the 20th most medals just among swimmers might have more medals than them in that case.

    Lol the way he said it was all in the DNA is pretty goofy. If you think about it, the US has more than 6x the population of South Korea, so just by pure probability the US is more likely to have more athletic people than they do in South Korea. While some people speculate that it has to do with race and I think there have even been studies done in that area, I just think of it as probability since the US is such a large country (don't @ me though, I haven't looked too keenly into this subject, this is just speculation). It also has to do with which sports are more popular and have better coaches. Although I will give credit to height definitely impacting basketball. I mean, I'm 5 ft 5 in tall, and if I was playing someone who was like 6 ft tall, then they would definitely have the upper hand on me.

    • @brianh6
      @brianh6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @laura-en6ih
      @laura-en6ih 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@brianh6 Towards the end of the comment you can see other factors listed, such as the popularity of a sport and the coaches. I personally believe the general mindset of citizens in specific countries can also be a factor. Different countries have different cultures and general beliefs that have the potential to influence an athlete’s performance. One example of this can be in funding. Certain sports are really popular in the U.S. and likely receive a large amount of funding which can give certain athletes an edge over those who receive less funding; not that this will always be the truth. There’s also personal dedication, motivation, and willpower to consider. Regarding the idea that certain races have better DNA for athletics, everyone’s DNA is unique to themselves. People of the same race also vary in height and build; some people are more genetically inclined to be lean and others are more inclined to be muscular. Regardless, an individual can have genetics that support athleticism and not be a great athlete simply because they lack sufficient drive to become one. Even if DNA may be a factor in athletic performance, it’s not the end all be all to being a good athlete. There is not only one factor that determines a good athlete.

    2:47 sorry, my guy, but you are definitely wrong. the relay order is 100 percent IMPORTANT. especially considering ability to accelerate the quickest out of blocks for first legs, handoff chemistry between legs, stride length for who will run curves vs straightaways in the 4x100m, psychological impact of running curve-straightaway-curve for the first two legs in the 4x200m (if you're in the outer lanes, due to the stagger), which hand the baton is held in for both the 4x100m and the 4x200m, fastest first 200m for who will run second leg in the 4x400m (in order to cut in after the 3rd curve of the race), ability to navigate traffic during handoffs for the last two legs of the 4x400m, etc. last leg isn't always the fastest runner - it depends on the relay, the strengths of each individual runner, and the needs of the team as a whole - but there's just no way that relay order isn't important when there's so much strategy required (and different strategies at that, depending on the relay) in order to run a successful race

    The lack of understanding by so many people here is astounding. There was nothing inherently racist about his comment. If anything it was sexist. Not being exposed to this level of competition is strange to them both. She follows up by saying that she would run the final leg but had been moved to 3rd, deferring to guys. Just that statement alone makes me believe High school and lower intramural sports are co-ed. These two are kids. Their exposure to black people is most likely nonexistent. He said he had only seen them on television. Korea, both of them, are very homogeneous. Racism, as it is in SK, is lower than it is here in the US. It has been dropping with the influx of non-Asian immigrants over the last 20-25 years. Once the natives get to know them they like them. Their racism is mostly pointed toward Japanese and Chinese and other Asian countries. This has a LOT to do with Korea being occupied so often by other countries. Doesn't thank make more sense than accusing a kid of racism? Sure if this were the west, especially the US, sure, kids are taught to hate by their families. You are watching a Korean produced video that exposes unfamiliar Koreans to the west. It isn't fair to judge any of these participants based on western ideals. They don't fit.

      @@Remember_the_Time I’m sure what he meant is that he is unreal for being that good in what he does, like how is he human? Also inborn, some people use inborn as a way to say that someone is a natural at what they do. For example, he has an inborn talent for music. I just don’t see the harm in this whatsoever. But also that was not my case here, my case was the fact that he said how he could run faster than the people in the video. Also it’s the boy’s opinion that he could run faster than that person, it doesn’t make it true cause we know they can all out run him or do better a sport because he is not a professional like them. It’s just that simple but people are getting pressed over his confidence that he has which to me looked comical from his side, he wasn’t really serious.
