Haha! It's funny to imagine what more must have been through the lens of the people who recorded the times, but it most definitely was not like that at most house parties! 😂 These people were EXTRA fabulous!
OMFG that's Sylvia Miles who would go on to play the old mother in She-Devil, one of my absolute favorite movies of all time!!! I'd know her voice anywhere! Who knew she hung with the Ru crowd? Sadly Nelson never got to see the film, as it came out in December of '89 and he died in July.
Sylvia's in several of these, although this is one of the first I saw with her and the larger group (there are others where she's at parties or where Nelson goes to see her). It's fun to see her holding court.
Yea, I found a few other Nelson vids with her once I fell down the internet rabbit hole thanks to this video haha. She definitely liked to run the show. I honestly never knew anything about her until today...not even her name. I just heard that voice and thought, "I know that woman!!" It's a small world.
The ones where he goes to see her house are a real trip. She's definitely been around. I'm ashamed to admit I know her best from her guest starring role on One Life to Live, as Roxy's mother.
I watched the Woodstock house tour earlier today lol...she sure was house-proud! To my knowledge I've never seen her in anything other than She-Devil. One of these days I'll have to watch some of her other movies.

I used to go to The Tunnel all the time. Miss the old days!
I really miss 80s house parties. "Hey come on in roll ya a joint" 💋
Haha! It's funny to imagine what more must have been through the lens of the people who recorded the times, but it most definitely was not like that at most house parties! 😂 These people were EXTRA fabulous!
When you still had to give directions on the phone anytime you had a party.
House parties were everything even in Los Angeles in the 90’s....so much fun and no cell phones!
boy gentrification really changed that house lol... looking at pictures of it then versus now is a trip :p
So IN AWE. Instantly captured by Nelson and his brilliance. Thank you
OMFG that's Sylvia Miles who would go on to play the old mother in She-Devil, one of my absolute favorite movies of all time!!!
Oh and PS. She's apparently still alive & kicking today at the age of (allegedly) 94!
I wonder what’s up the stairs. Everyone’s rushing up there ;)
Cocaine probably! Lol..
Awe Christina!!! RIP 2 both of yall

How fascinating. It would have been interesting to have been around for this but I was born a week after this was made. bummer .
There goes Michael Alig off to go do something shady! 😂

Such a treat to see your work that was at The Pyramid before it was all ripped out! I got there in time to save a section of the dressing room wall with a few notes ton this one or etc! I wanted to cry! It was the best historic thing that told the start of this! I am seeing so many faces b4 fame or life took over! Lahoma is my and will always be my fave!!!! Such a cute boy! Larry Tee w/hair!xoxo
I do remember bits and pieces of the 1980s I was born in 1983 September 1st 1983 I wonder what it would have been like to be an adult back then
A lot of cocaine...
When Larry T and Michael Alig met - wow 😯
This was uploaded on my 31st birthday and I was 9 months when this was recorded! O M G !
I was 9 days old when this was recorded haha
When your birthday is November 18th, haha! Thank you for uploading!!!
Song of Life my daughter was born a day after rupaul’s birthday and I swear I felt myself trying to push faster.
Nelson the OG blogger!!! Boy was he way ahead of his time!!! These videos are like NYC night life visual encyclopedias, the NYC downtown crowd stars
Was that Lady Bunny out of drag that leaves just after Ru Paul arrives?
Ema Nim yes
Thank you! The voice is unmistakeable lol.

Lahoma is out of drag here too. He's Jon
He is so handsome tho
These videos are amazing. Thank you for posting them.
“ I’m talking to myself in my own party!” I feel ya buddy
Christina with her real hair, no wig!
And not completely wasted too. So different!
Is this the christina he talks about in the Washington Trip video that passed away?..
@@Briannacorder yes it is
She seemed a little more mentally “with it” in this video compared to the videos closer to her death
Nelson was very popular! He loved his friends and they loved him!
nelson seemed like a great host
What a wonderful time...💜💙❤️
This mans life was amazing though he died young he’s soul was free and he had a lot of great experiences and met great people
so many legends in one video, classic video
These videos are incredible!!!
9th Ave and 14th St! Back when the village was fun.
so it was in Greenwhich village?
"Theres some grass you can roll ..." 🤩
I was 6 months old when this happened.
mao zadong bitch, I wasn't even born yet! 😂
Hey, I was 23! Lived it, loved it!!!
I was 6 years old, from the UK, living in a little council house at the end of the road with roses growing up the wall. It’s so strange to watch these videos, so far away and from a different place and time.
My mom was 2 years old ...crazy to think that!
the absolute best thing on the internet ever! nelson sullivan was a genius he saw the future of youtube and vlogging then predicted his own demise. this man was from another planet he had to be.. he was too smart and knew too much. he seemed to predict the future or saw the future what a guy what a talent. i wish i had known him and been friends with him he seemed an absolute hoot x rest in eternal peace nelson we will never see your like again thats for sure xxx
The directions lol! Thank God for GPS!
Nelson was so adorable!
I love how RuPaul’s dressed like Helga Pataki
I also love how Stuart gets mistaken for Michael Musto and then Michael Musto shows up later.
The ultimate socializing experience 80s was the future
Something was going on with the one Michael leaving and the other arriving. Maybe it's nothing but looks like they are not happy to run into each other. This is like a soap opera to watch and I most likely do not know what I am talking about.
Maybe coz Alig has a too heavy vibe to be in a room with those was too much good vibes 😎
" This is just here for who ever wants to roll it. NY State NY Wine ..." the hospitality.
Sylvia Miles is in this home movie right at the beginning! Amazing that she ran in the same circle as Nelson.
And a two time Academy Award nominee!
@@gregbryant516 I do think Sylvia enjoyed the company of eclectic people so this is why she gravitated towards them.
She definitely did. Early on in the vid she's talking about Joe Dallesandro, and I know she made films with him and other Warhol Superstars.
Sylvia Miles was so much fun in "Evil Under The Sun" ('82), as Myra Gardner.
His home is worth millions now.
Michael Alig's sober in this video... Damn!
no he's not lmao
Wow he has many good friends...🌷
Great one💗 The gift that keeps on giving
how long its been since ive been to a party and there was weed on the table for whoever. nobody does that anymore. Big up Nelson.
This was beyond fab 🌈
Nelson is so handsome in that suit! What a guy!
I was like 1 month old when this party happened.
