- This video shows the progression through cruel difficulty on my first character (Duelist, poorly built/optimized). In the end, I have to face the current main boss himself! This was played on SSF Hardcore Legacy League.

Nobody told him how strong the 2pts from slayer is so op? 20 % culling strike is amazing he should have picked that on normal lab, 15% aoe is such a noob trap :p

When he spawned on you, you turned back and ran right into the centre of him to attack. If you knew about the mechanic before the fight obviously you would have been able to avoid that.
great work for your first try, i admire you for taking the fight without any knowledge, especially as a streamer! :)

i love this videos, btw when is the stream? i allways miss it...
super easy to dodge that attack, he targets when he submerges, also when he appeared you walked toward him and stood and waited for him instead of walking away. You did get hit by it multiple times were it didn't crit so you could have seen the behaviour of the attack. Fun run nonetheless, you learn something new everytime.
I played blind with no tips/spoilers, so I didn't know the boss mechanics. This is one of those things that kills you once, but never again. PoE is a learning experience, each death makes you better and more experienced!!
Ye I didn't fault you for not knowing at all, but just that you kept saying there was no way to dodge it, even though you played blind you did fight him in normal as well and you did take many big hits from that attack during the fight. Maybe you didn't worry as it didn't kill you, but this is a good lesson all those big hit abilities will crit once in a while and that is were oneshots happen. So if you get a huge hit from something in the future, consider that that may have been a non crit and that later it can crit.
Learning the HARD WAY makes its much more fun than just reading guides and following tutorial that will take away all own excitement, experience, surprise and self discover of the game ... Well done Moldran!

I completly agree, and I do the same myself, I just pointed out that he experienced that attack multiple times in the fight, not that he should look it up somewere

I had no idea how the attack works, and that he would appear directly under me. I thought it's random where he appears, but learned my lesson. Playing blind without guides/tips in hardcore is real HARDCORE!
also needed to bind your left click to force move, you ran in because you were going in to an basic attack
