    • @johnplaysgames3120
      @johnplaysgames3120 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, there were a lot of those "honest but sad" moments in Kurt's lyrics, as well as some that pretty much pointed toward where he was ultimately headed. E.g. the song "I Hate Myself And Want To Die," lyrics like "look on the bright side/suicide," etc. Kurt had a habit of dropping in real insights into himself in one line and then undermining it with something self-deprecating or silly in the next ("one more quirky, misshaped phrase," e.g.).

    Kurt Cobain modeled some of his songs after the band called The Pixies, who did mellow verses then loud rocking choruses. Smells Like Teen Spirit and this one were examples of that. Not all Pixies songs were that way, but it was something that made them unique. Check out the MTV Unplugged acoustic songs like the cover of Bowie's Man Who Sold The World.

Kurt Cobain did amazing on it. What's crazy is, after they were done, he told one of the MTV crew members, that he thought it was a bad performance, and the crew member couldn't believe he really thought that, because of how amazing they did. The guy was really hard on himself. It's a shame, because Nirvana's music helped a lot of people. I showed my girlfriend's 15 year old daughter Nirvana's music, and now her, and her friends are all wearing Nirvana shirts. These are kids who were born in 2007. Kurt died in 1994.
