This message was very helpful. As a revert, I really appreciate the various aspects of the Catholic faith, even though there is some tension. It was nice to hear some examples of how it can play out. Thank you!
I think one of the lessons God has been teaching me lately is related to this. I've tried not to put value judgments on what faithfulness looks like. Sometimes in my life it can seem that what I really need is God's roadmap for my life. I want to know every turn along the journey. I want to know the destination, and I want to know every road stop along the way. And this ultimately leads to a lot of focus on what I could be doing and not where I am. Faithfulness is rooted in the gift of wisdom that helps us discern how to walk from the next step on the journey of faith. I've recently been thinking a lot about Psalm 119 verse 105, where the psalmist reminds us that God's word is a lamp unto our feet. I love that idea that God gives us the light and the grace to take a step on the path. He gives us the turn-by-turn directions, but he doesn't give us the whole map. He tells us how to be faithful now, and asks us to trust that he will be faithful in the future. I feel like sometimes when we're invited into big public moments, it's because God wants to show his glory. But the temptation is that we might begin to think that the glory due to God is in some way due to us. So in my own life, I found God continually telling me to get smaller. The wavelength of God's communication with us is on the pathway of humility. I heard a story many years ago about the glorious procession into Jerusalem of Christ. And a preacher who said that sometimes he feels like the donkey who hears the praise of the people and falsely believes it's for him. The Holy Spirit will teach us one way or the other that we are not Jesus. There are moments in our life where there might be great praise, or there might be attention, lauds, and honor. We must always be careful to recognize that ultimately none of these are for us. We are not the ones that are worthy of praise. We just get to be the ones that usher in the Lord. We are, in fact, the ass that Jesus uses to enter into his work and nothing more.
So good you have spoken about the tension in life of two good 'actions" - it has bothered me often. Thank you.
Great and practical! Thanks a lot! God bless you, your family and ministry!🙏🔥

Sr. Ann is alive and well! She retires from hosting her beloved radio program for 30 years at the end of this week. We are so grateful for her!
