I doubt it'll ever happen, but hopefully, one day, someone will start making aftermarket replacement ones like this and like the one they had for the 75-83 year model trucks.
Around 5:43 you mentioned something about an OFF circuit just wondering if not being able to turn on/off my wipers is a problem with this specific part.
If you removed this would the basic functions of the wiper work or is it essential? Also my wipers turned on randomly and won't turn off. the only function of the switch that seems to work regarding the wipers is turning it to high. Does this sound like a problem with this part?
If you remove this, the wipers will not work correctly. You would have to install the older style wiper switch to match up the wires and functions correctly. If you plug the intermittent wiper switch in without this module, it causes lots of goofy things like you are describing (see the diagram in the video, the wires do not all line up, in-out).
Thanks for this. I think it's going to be more broadly important as the supply chain of good spares of all sorts dry up. Can't make me buy an EV if I can keep my old shitbox up and running 😁
Thank you so much !! This is exactly what I needed
Hi. Thanks for the video. My 87 R30 wipes on its own every 3 minutes. I’ve replaced the switch and the motor. What are the chances it’s this module?

Did it work properly in your friend Squarebody after replacing the SCR?
Yep! I have been looking for more broken ones, so I can fix a few more and test a few more SCR's that I got.
@@Crazylogix007 I've got one from a parts truck I bought, but have no idea if it works or not...😁

Maybe a combination of things. And could be the wiper home switch too (its in the wiper motor module).
Do you happen to know the thyristor part number to order from mouser?
