Whether you consider yourself an investor or collector, Pokemon error cards can be some of the rarest, most valuable, and most highly sought after cards in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. However, most people don't know what to look for when it comes to misprint Pokemon cards.
In this video, we take a look at some of the rarest Pokemon misprints, errors, and promo cards released by Wizards of the Coast (1998-2002). Many of these cards are extremely limited in quantity and difficult to find.

Growing up I always thought that vaporeon was from base set... it turns out I just happened to own a no symbol one!
Great video! One error you missed was the "D.efending" Beedrill error from Base Unlimited. This is one of my favorites, especially as a big fan of bug types, as it appears to be extremely scarce. I don't actually think PSA has a designation for it at the time I'm writing this.

Great video! Some you've missed out of the top of my head:
- the WB promos also exist without stamp, which are slightly rarer than the Inverted stamp versions;
- Legendary birds promos with incorrect illustrator name (the corrected version is rarer);
- Gym Challenge Blaine's Charizard with Fighting Energy symbol instead of Fire in the first attack (the corrected version is rarer);
- Base Set Beedrill with "D.efending" instead of "Defending" in the second attack;
- Fossil Krabby with scratch error;
- Base Set Dragonair with "n mber" instead of "number" in the first attack;
- Gym Challenge Rocket's Minefield Gym with incorrect text "If tails, put damage counters on that Pokémon" instead of "... put 2 damage counters ..." (the corrected version is rarer);

Here are a few errors you missed in the video, fighting energy symbol charizard from gym challenge and the reverse holo exeggcute with the shifted grass energy symbols :) Im sure theres more, but these are a few that i noticed werent there

I have some of those cards you mentioned as well as others. Great information.
i can name many you missed for example illustrator error blastoise, red dot blastoise, black dot chansey, black dot charizard, red heart clefairy, black dot clefairy, gyarados gray print error, red dot gyarados, hitmonchan gray print error, hitmonchan holobleed, screen holo machamp (which looks like holobleed), blue-green dot machamp, mewtwo blue ink stains, black ink hickey ninetales, yellow hair ninetales, gray text ninetales, missing yellow ovals venusaur, d.efending error beedrill ( i saw someone else mentioned this), rainbow smear dragonair, blue ink hickey electrode, red heart tattoo charmeleon, blue slash charmeleon, (btw all of these are base set and i can talk about sword & shield promo errors), red printer hickey charmeleon, blue ink hickey poliwhirl, blue ink hickey wartortle, jet plane abra, shadowless sun beam bulbasaur, scratch error charmander, magenta printing hickeys on charmander, and that is it (btw this not all base set errors)

Great video! I love the 1st edition promo pikachu too! I own two copies: a PSA 9 and a PSA 2. The PSA 2 just came back from PSA. I see it is all alone in the pop report! I have had both of these cards since childhood. I received them from a friend, and I recall he received them in trades from someone else. I remember buying the mint one from him for $20, which naturally felt like a huge amount of money for me as a kid. :) Special card and very special memories.

Nice list! You can also find the Vulpix blue spot error. It's a little less known and only recognised by CGC at the moment I believe and I have no idea how rare it is. Seems to come in both Unlimited and 1st Edition, so maybe it happened in the crossover between 1st to Unlimited...
I was also going to mention the Vulpix Base set Blue Spot error. I have seen it in both 1st edition and shadowless but is much rarer in 1st edition I believe.

That card was only printed with the Base Set artwork in 1st Edition Jungle; it wasn’t corrected until Unlimited Jungle.
Adding to base for Clefairy there is the heart in circle and black ink blob error

I magically bought one in an auction for $200 that had that hidden in it. Pop report just went to 13 for 10's so I think I got a ten as I'm in the last QA check. Pretty fricken awesome.

Trying to get some info on color errors that made the entire card look like the error words you have on the videos title. Made the whole card look 3d?
Do you think mis prints makes a card more desirable? Cause I pulled a zeraora v alt art from chilling reign and it’s severely miscut. It’s so mid cut you can actually see the top of another card.

I have a question. I have a base set 2 pikachu that has one red cheek and one yellow cheek. I’ve had this card since I was a little kid when I pulled it from a pack. Have you ever seen one of these?
I had a no symbol Pinsir without knowing it for years. And when I ordered a Nidoqueen I was sent a no symbol error card. And I pulled an upside-down pop promo Mew.
You forgot to mention the Dark Arbok 19/82. It has this error in the year (1999-23000).
By the way, I really enjoyed this video.
Missed the ancient mew "missing white layer error" it's one of the least known errors though, there is currently known 2 of them on uncut sheets and 2 of them raw 1 of Wich I own. Would love to hear someone talk about it.

Yeah i have that pikachu and those first movie cards lol Mine dont have a stamp on them either. Thats odd Ive never seen a card with the stamp on it. My brother doesnt have it on his either.
I remember going to like 8 different theaters for that Dragonite because i didnt have it and I finally found one and that one didnt have a stamp either so i never thought they came with a stamp. I would think the stamped ones are more rare tbh lol

I have often wondered about the Japanese cd promo card set of eleven cards that was released in 1998. Ten of the cards are in Japanese and featured the “old back style” version, but there was a “yellow cheeks” Pikachu card in English which looks much like the “shadowless” version that WOTC printed a year or more later. This particular card seems to have a “glossy” surface similar to the other cards in this set. Am I correct about this particular Pikachu card?
I think I know what you're talking about. IIRC, it was printed on the thinner Japanese card stock in English with the English back.

hi guys. i recently fetched my old pokemon cards from back in the days. Turns out I have an 1st Edtion Foil Zapdos from Fossil (German). I noticed that it ist missing on pointy end of its rairtiy star. Is that considered a misprint which will make me a trillionaire or is it nothing special?

Hi Pokemon Classics, I got my PSA Grade review today on my graded cards I submitted, and I notice I have a PSA 10 Venusaur ex Special Illustration Rare card from 151 english with no dark pupil to the eyeballs. I believe that is considered an error card. Do you agree? If yes, then that is worth a lot of money. Also, if it's true when I get it back to confirm it, that means that the community hasn't noticed it yet.
Uhh I got a Butterfree vmax and The ability g-max to breeze 150 damage says Your *opponent' s* active pokemon is not confused and poisoned the opponents is wrong is this real or fake?

Still listed on ebay and according to an e4 thread it was first listed years ago it looks like. I'm not a big fan of the one off "errors" but funny to find one that mimics a more well known error
I have a Victreebell from the Jungle set that has the same error as the dark dragonite you mentioned: It has the number of the holographic version, but it lacks the holo. I have always wondered how much that boosts the price of the card, but never found anything ike it on the internet. What do you think is this card worth (condition: very bad :D)?

Black star promo legendary birds have wrong artists and corrected, you could make an argument for the ancient mew had the 3 types including the “nintedo” missprint
Last year I got back into pokemon and went over some of my old cards. Never looked for errors until recently, but found the Vaporeon no symbol and the Haunter ink error. I always thought the ink error card was due to the pack getting hot and melting the holo....idk I was a kid. Cool finds

So, one thing I've been sounding for years, and now the Pokemon cards are now popular again I can finally find out. It is rare to have a holo that was printed in the wrong stock? I have a Zapdos that appears to have been printed on the holo for a card with a pre-evolution, thus the whole Zapdos artwork is holo, except for the top left corner where the pre-evolution would be displayed. Is there a name for this type of error?
I think you're talking about the Fossil Zapdos. Every 1st Edition Fossil Zapdos has that misprint along with most of the Unlimited print run of Fossil Zapdos. Unfortunately, it's not particularly rare or valuable. For more information search "Fossil Zapdos Error"
