Glad you are happy with your bike :-) I just replaced my motor under warranty after 3000 miles not really a good feeling, but many people had less miles. I love my Levo too #LovingLevo !!
I had the lights on my display flash blue and red on the first and third bar on my 2021 Levo . Happened three times .Turning it on and off fixed it. The bike shop contacted Specialized after a few days they said that they had this happen on other bikes and they would change the big wire connecting the battery and motor . No time just when ever they could find a cable . I also contacted Specialized they wrote back and apologized and asked for the serial number ,which I had already gave them and said they would check into it . I sent them a video of the lights flashings. I haven't heard back and that was about a week ago. I considered buying a direct to consumer bike but instead decide to buy from a local bike shop to support local business and for the service . .But they don't seem to to concerned or in any hurry to fix it .
If you get the Specialized Turbo Connect Display you can see your exact battery level at a glance, plus your own power output. I always ride in stealth mode with the indicator lights off until I shift modes.
I’m running the large hard plastic mucky nuts on the front and the smaller ones in the back of my Levo. It’s stops the mud build up on the turbo sticker part of the frame . They don’t look the best but they do a great job of stopping the mud hitting the front of you and your face 👌
I think it would be more useful if the TCU showed the remaining battery percentage as a number, rather than a series of bars, but there must be some logical reason why they didn't do that
That DOES make more sense for ease of viewing quickly on the go. I find the bars fine as a quick guide, but it's hard to distinguish where you're at quickly when you're in the 80-30 mark (so, most of it...). I think because you can't see what it's out of it makes it difficult.
I have the same bike, and talking to the bike shops in Canberra, Specialised will bring them out. I’m sure I saw a kit you can swap out from the states. Gen 3 kit to replace the Gen 2. Cheers Ocean from Canberra, Australia
Thanks James I agree that back area bogs up with mud easily and is hard to get clean. I nearly took my back wheel out to clean mine the other day. Are you worried about water in your motor have you looked inside to see how its going for moisture ingress. I call my bike "The Brute" .
Awesome! Bet you're keen as! Yep, it'll still ride home without battery, you'd just want to make sure you don't have any major climbs in the way because of the extra weight behind it. Climbs are definitely doable, but veery slow.
If you buy an Ebike and your dealing with 24KG you need to consider a Towball bike carrier that tilts . I am concerned about what you pay for Specialized and the reliability issues I am hearing about. I know Brose extended the warranty to deal with this so it's a known issue. It's a shame that a great bike is let down by motor issues. Bosch leading the way ATM let's hope all the other catch up.
I'm getting on to that with this bike! - the weather here at the moment hasn't been great for the trails - it's been dumping snow! I'm waiting it out, and then I'm going to get some good and proper trail footage 👍
What are you feelings of this bike vs the S Works or comp carbon? Do you feel you have enough with the components of the comp? I have this bike on order and I’m wording if I should upgrade to Carbon Comp, or S Works. Thanks for your videos! I can’t wait to on the trains!
Hey Brent! The bike's greaaat! I haven't really noticed much between carbon and alloy in this particular bike, given the weight *almost* makes that redundant - *almost*. Obviously the higher level components would be naturally better, but I don't feel this model lacks anything! The only thing I'd say is the brakes could do with an upgrade if you had the extra money and were looking for somewhere to put it. These are good everything considering, but a bit of extra power would be nice for that 5% of the time you might need it
Hey James, thanks for all the informative information. How would you rate the downhill capabilities of this bike. Would you feel comfortable bringing this to the bike park? I come from riding a Yeti SB 27.5. I am sold on the ebike, however I am torn over the "non e" specialized enduro over this in fear of not going to be handling the rough stuff and some bigger jumps. I mainly ride more technical enduro lines and do love days of just jumping in the park. I have a deposit on both bikes and need to choose. Judging on your riding capabilities, you would be the guy to ask. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the kind words! Downhill it's a machine! Now that I'm used to it, I'm half thinking that I actually ride it better (not necessarily faster, but sometimes) with the motor turned off than the old non-ebike! In terms of a bike park, maaaaybe. In Tasmania we don't really have pure 'jumpy' bike parks like in other parts of the globe so I can't say too much from experience there. From what I've personally jumped with it though, it seems super stable in the air and very capable - the only thing to consider is that you've got to put a but more effort into it, as in all your actions need to be a bit more deliberate and exagerrated. E.g. I rode a pump track yesterday with little jumps in it, and for what was almost effortless for non-ebikes, the extra 10kg of the e-bike needed some oomph to get going.
@@JamesGoodsell This further confirms my decision! Just picked up the Comp in the Spruce color. Patiently waiting for my pedals to come in the mail!! Thanks for the response. I'll report back.
Thanks for the review James 👍 I’m picking my Oak Green Levo Comp up later this week after trialling one last week. What do you think to the SLX drivetrain and brakes and the 36 Rhythm fork?
Thanks! You'll love it! I haven't had any issues at all with the SLX drivetrain, and upgrading it doesn't come to mind. The forks are super robust and work grest for the bike too - they don't seem underpowered or weak in comparison and feel like a mountain bike should. The brakes are GOOD, and do their job well, but are the only thing on the bike I'd consider upgrading myself in the future, if I were to upgrade anything. They've got the grabby Shimano feel to them, and plenty of stopping power, but I think that if you're pushing the bike to its limits on steep decsents, the brakes might be the first component to come under scrutiny. Overall though, I can't complain.
James Goodsell Thanks mate. Appreciate the feedback. I’m in Qld but I’ll have to get down your neck of the woods for a mtb trip one day, the terrain looks amazing. Was in Hobart for a short holiday a couple of yrs back andI thought I recognised Mt Wellington from one of your other vids 👍
Battery or motor, I haven't sused it fully yet. During the ride it'll stop working and flash lights at me, but turning it off and on fixes it.... for now. Bike shop time.
@@JamesGoodsell If you recently had the software update, it might be causing the problem. I (and others) have been experiencing erroneous error code after we had our bike's software updated.
Correction, This is not an SL, the battery slides out very easily.
Thanks for pulling me up on this - must've gotten confused! Might have to remake the video to correct it 😅

I was wondering if other people used stealth mode!
I also solved the dirt build up problem with this clever mud guard. www.sicomtbproducts.com/product/front-rear-mudguard-set/
No way! You can barely tell it's even there!
Yes, it works perfectly. A bit pricy I suppose, but it will last for years and I like having that corner always clean.

I get mine in 2 days. The shop is putting it together. If you do run out of battery, can't you just ride it home like a regular bike without assist?
