Dino Dini's soccer doesn't get enough love. It was a great game. I think it was called Goal on the Amiga and really was "Kick off 3"

Sensible Soccer is the best. ISS Deluxe is great though.
ISS all the way. I have ISS, Fifa 96 and Italia 90 but only ever play ISS. Pro moves soccer was great though. Its season mode was way ahead of its time. Like Fifa or master league on pro evo you start with a crap team, get money for winning and slowly build a better squad through transfers.

I really liked Kick Off 3. The stupid default setting had some weird auto kicking option though unless you changed it to hard mode. I found once you did and spent time playing it, it offered a huge variety of ways to score and didn't feel cheap like various other games around the time. :)

Sensible Soccer/ Dino Dini, J. League Pro Striker and specially ISS deluxe are the only really good ones. So much rubbish football games in 16bit gen and most of them aged really bad.

I remember long ago having a genesis rom with 3 games on it. One was a soccer game, don't know if a hack or a homebrew. But the game was horizontal and it had some knock off sponsors (gigette instead of gillette for example) on the banners outside the field. Couldn't find it anymore and I remember having tons of fun with it.

DaveDoc1984 I guess as a young boy, I didn't really look at graphics or gameplay.
The graphics never bothered me as actually they were ok for a top down football game but the Gameplay was laughable :) the way the players dribbled, slide tackled and the way you could score goals was always amusing!

European Club Soccer is underrated.....The only mega drive game where it's possible to guide Wrexham to Cup Winners Cup glory..
That said it's not worth playing without doing the "Three Shredded Wheat" cheat..

Bautista Puebla No I was looking for American Football and found what most of the other parts of the world call Football. What I meant was I clicked the video because I didn't read the Soccer part of the description lol.
Need some help: I remember playing a game as a kid that had pretty obscure (no offense) teams from Latvia and Lithuania like Zalgiris Vilnius and others you didn't get to play a lot back in the day i believe. Actually not even today :)

You must have some patience to get enjoyment from that game! Although I can't talk as I've put many hours into Virtua Striker 2 on the Dreamcast, which has all kinds of flaws.
Dino Dini's soccer was easily the best from this period. Most of the rest are really clunky and slow.

+lgois Gois FIFA International Soccer and FIFA 95 look almost same, but they play different.
FIFA 96 was NOTHING like the previous two.
FIFA 97 and 98 look and play almost the same as 96.

So it's either Sensi or Dino Dini's Soccer (port of Goal from the Amiga). Early FIFA was always rubbish and I never liked ISS's zoomed in view. Kick Off 3 was abysmal! That Tecmo Captain Tsubasa port looks good, but I don't think it was actually released?

FIFA 97 indoor mode was awesome. Also loved fever pitch, name of the game was to basically kick the shit out of your opponents!! For me though, sensi wins hands down!

Pena o mega drive não ter a melhor série de futebol já criada no quesito jogabilidade ,super formation soccer da Humam ,que saiu para Pc engine e fez mto sucesso no super famicom .
Formation Soccer é bom, mas nem de perto é melhor que vários do Mega como o Sensible ou o ISSD

Some of these games looked laughably bad. The fifa games were overall the best since they had the most realism and most ways to score a goal. It really sucks with some of the games when you can just run up the middle of the pitch and score. It's never that simple in most professional football matches.
FIFA games were average at best. Dino Dini's Soccer and Sensi were far better.

Tecmo 92' the best
European Club Soccer looks great but the gameplay is horrible! The players always left the ball behind and the automatic change of players works really bad
FIFA 95 was the best (I loved the original FIFA, but 95 polished it up a bit and added clubs in too). By FIFA 96, EA were concentrating on next gen versions, like PlayStation etc, so the Megadrive FIFAs were OK but became a bit of an after thought. Sensible Soccer, for all its basic graphics was extremely popular and very fun to play. I’d spend hours on it. ISS was good, but never a FIFA beater for me. I liked European Club Soccer. Pele Soccer was atrocious. Super Kick Off 3 was a poor attempt to cash in on FIFA and was awful.
The most underrated Football game on the Megadrive was Ultimate Soccer. It had better graphics than the standard top down graphics games of the time, with multiple choice camera angles. But it came out roundabout when the first FIFA did, so got blown away. It had a fun element, but not quite as fun as Sensible Soccer, so lost out on that angle. It tried to be both realistic and arcadey but wasn’t enough of either. But it was very playable.
I had FIFA 95 back in the day, it was OK, but nowhere near as good as Dino Dini's Soccer.

World Cup 90 is the european name of World Championship Soccer, they are both the same.

Most of the games were horrible, even for their time. Horrible graphics and gameplay. Just compare with other genre games. Only exceptions are Superstar Soccer, Fifa's (although 96, 97 and 98 are the same) and the first World Championship Soccer.
AWS Pro Moves Soccer is pretty decent too.
This video is stupid. Most of these goals were offside.
Sensible Soccer sucked.
