ISS all the way. I have ISS, Fifa 96 and Italia 90 but only ever play ISS. Pro moves soccer was great though. Its season mode was way ahead of its time. Like Fifa or master league on pro evo you start with a crap team, get money for winning and slowly build a better squad through transfers.

The graphics never bothered me as actually they were ok for a top down football game but the Gameplay was laughable :) the way the players dribbled, slide tackled and the way you could score goals was always amusing!
European Club Soccer is underrated.....The only mega drive game where it's possible to guide Wrexham to Cup Winners Cup glory.. That said it's not worth playing without doing the "Three Shredded Wheat" cheat..

So it's either Sensi or Dino Dini's Soccer (port of Goal from the Amiga). Early FIFA was always rubbish and I never liked ISS's zoomed in view. Kick Off 3 was abysmal! That Tecmo Captain Tsubasa port looks good, but I don't think it was actually released? Nice video, btw.
You must have some patience to get enjoyment from that game! Although I can't talk as I've put many hours into Virtua Striker 2 on the Dreamcast, which has all kinds of flaws.

Some of these games looked laughably bad. The fifa games were overall the best since they had the most realism and most ways to score a goal. It really sucks with some of the games when you can just run up the middle of the pitch and score. It's never that simple in most professional football matches.
FIFA 95 was the best (I loved the original FIFA, but 95 polished it up a bit and added clubs in too). By FIFA 96, EA were concentrating on next gen versions, like PlayStation etc, so the Megadrive FIFAs were OK but became a bit of an after thought. Sensible Soccer, for all its basic graphics was extremely popular and very fun to play. I’d spend hours on it. ISS was good, but never a FIFA beater for me. I liked European Club Soccer. Pele Soccer was atrocious. Super Kick Off 3 was a poor attempt to cash in on FIFA and was awful. The most underrated Football game on the Megadrive was Ultimate Soccer. It had better graphics than the standard top down graphics games of the time, with multiple choice camera angles. But it came out roundabout when the first FIFA did, so got blown away. It had a fun element, but not quite as fun as Sensible Soccer, so lost out on that angle. It tried to be both realistic and arcadey but wasn’t enough of either. But it was very playable.
Most of the games were horrible, even for their time. Horrible graphics and gameplay. Just compare with other genre games. Only exceptions are Superstar Soccer, Fifa's (although 96, 97 and 98 are the same) and the first World Championship Soccer.
Dino Dini's soccer doesn't get enough love. It was a great game. I think it was called Goal on the Amiga and really was "Kick off 3"
