  • On Tuesday April 9, 2019, Danny and I made the trek to Lewistown, PA from Altoona with intentions to catch the Juniata Valley Railroad, another part of the North Shore family. We had hoped the day's train, JVRR-1 would make their run through Lewistown's street running section to work at Krentzmen's Junkyard in Maitland, but their work was limited mostly to within the yard, but we were able to capture them doing some work as well as spotting a tank car at Central Pennsylvania Logistics off of Roundhouse Road. Today’s choice of power was North Shore SW900 446, which is of Conrail and NYC heritage. We also were able to see NS 056 come east with some type of nuclear high and wide in the consist. Thanks for watching!

Nice footage, Dan! It's cool seeing the smaller railroads like this in action.

Wonderful video! The 446 is actually a SW-9.

What vintage is the EMD switcher? Shows how reliable these older locomotives can be when given TLC. 😃

NSHR 446 is an ex-NYC/Conrail unit, rebuilt from SW9.
