I was very proud of Abdullah the Butcher and Kamala the Ugandan Giant as a young teen growing up in Uganda in the 1980s. These two sons of Africa made me and my family very proud and happy. Thanks for the memories.
Why don't these guys get the credit for starting hardcore wrestling, Abdullah the Butcher,Tiger Jeet Singh the Sheik , Terry funk these guys were doing hardcore wrestling in the 60's and 70's
It was always a treat getting to see Abdullah's matches, it was such a great change of pace. You got a fight and no matter who was in there against him. That's the bad thing about having wrestlers under exclusive contracts, it did away with the bounty hunter angels of bring in guys like Abdullah for one or two big fights. It doesn't necessarily have to be a blood bath but not every match needs to be pretty.

What was that thing that looked like a pancreatic drain site that the Shiek had in his mid-section back in the early eighties.??? It was usually taped up !
I keep trying to search for matches between The Sheik and the Iron Sheik, or at least both of them wrestling together as tag team partners. But I’m guessing that probably none these events ever happened? I think they would’ve made great sellers.

2022年10月1日、今日だからこそおすすめにあがってきたのかもしれませんが、タイムスリップを満喫しました。何もかもがグレートな時代だった。
このカード、テレビは土曜の深夜(関西地区)に放送。
会場はリングと客席間ノンフェンス、試合前に花束贈呈のお姉さんがスタンバイとは、今では絶対にありえない。
まさにこれぞ「ザ・全日本プロレス」
懐かしすぎる!!!。
しかし、全日本の札幌は地味に良いカードを並べる印象があって羨ましい。

シークは体力的に長くはできない。シングルは苦しかったと思う。
開始と終了のゴングの間の試合時間は短くても、それ以外の乱闘の時間が長いし、暴れっぷりも凄まじいから、この当時はまだまだ大丈夫でしょ。
ザ・シークの試合の流れは予想通りだし、兇器攻撃のワンパターン、体もそんなに大きくないから 大したプロレスラーじゃないと思っていたが、試合前に会場でシークがワイのすぐ近くを通った時 ホンマにワイ、ビビったわー。
ハンセン、ブロディとは異なる異様な迫力だった😨
その後、平成2年にシークはFMWに来たけど65歳といえど、異様さは健在だった。
分かります。シンは殴られる怖さがありますが、シークは56されるかもしれない恐怖がありました。
あの額の無数の生々しい傷、殺気みなぎるギョロ目、目の前で見たら戦慄が走ると思います。

デトロイトのプロモーターでもあったシーク。マーク・ルーインというデトロイトでの名物的な対戦もあった2人が、全日のタッグリーグ戦でコンビを組む時もあったんだから仕事とはいえ面白かった。

Saw both of these guys at the Olympia and Cobo Arena in Detroit in the 70’s.
Both were from Michigan (and NOT the Middle East, obviously), Abby from Detroit, and The Sheik was promoter for the Cobo Hall events for a while.
