His ability to communicate....the nuances of deep and profound emotions...to touch the feelings deep in the heart. I think his best interpretation is that one from 1987 ... when he seems to be a little lost on the lyrics... BUT, he makes the final blow with amazing long notes in the final chords... he improvises the end as a huge coronation for being a little lost on the lyrics just seconds ago. That makes a REAL ARTIST no matter the error. Humans after all, but if you can correct it with greatness like him, you are more than welcome. One of the best crooners and story tellers EVER.

Respectfully, I disagree. No mistake was incurred here. There was too much post-ending after what SEEMED to be an error or an abrupt culmination. . The way he moved 3-times - slowly, to the orchestra, his hand-pointing, his absence of perturbation, his new phrasing not heard before in the song, his expert pauses, and the glorious culmination were no "mistake cover-ups" but all planned. No one like this treasure of a human being. There have been times in my long life when I was hurting and devoid of cheer when I'd hear him sing, "When will the bells ring for me," and the gloom lifted. I owe him soooo much.
What a voice and what a VOID this gentleman has left. Watching his face and powerful gesticulations as well as the wonder of his voice, so recently gone, gives me a sense of my own finitude and I'm wondering what I have left. Frankly, it's still completely overwrought and over the top, but I now can't help but appreciate what a spectacular vocal performance this is. Amazing pipes!
