Allen, I like your video`s .I have seen just about all you have done, keep up the good work . I got my grandchildren a Thomas the train set for Christmas one year and they run the wheels off,and today they remember it as a fun time . so keep making the video`s. I will be looking for a new one! mike
It's Thomas the Tank Engine, not Thomas the train.
I was there riding the train in the open air car just 3 weeks ago. The ride is great bc it goes thru the country with beautiful scenery. Everyone should ride it al least once.

When I was like 9 or 10 I loved Thomas events. Than when I was like 11 I figured out that the diesel engines on the back did all the work and Thomas was just a dressed up rollingstock.
Took my son to see him last month.... He's a real working steamer now.

The Strasburg Railroad uses a real steam engine for their Thomas events.

This cinematic trick requires specific prepwork to the ballast. I was expecting to find two cylinders and presumably part of an Allin valve gear - consistent with a London, Brighton and South Coast (GBR) six-coupled tank switcher, Class E2 - when the pilot beam passed....

Wow I've heard stories about you supposed to be able to lie between the tracks and have a train pass over you but there was some low flying tanks, ballasts etc there. I don't think you would be lucky with the appendages hanging that low.
You'd never survive under a train. Aside from tanks/etc, most engines have blades that hang inches off the rails to clear obstacles. They would make short work of anyone who was laying there. I have heard that subways have enough undercarriage room though... Not that I'd suggest trying it.

It's interesting as I've seen videos of people surviving under Sydney's Cityrail trains. So unless Australia's trains have a higher under-carriage I'm FIIK how they managed.
Indeed ***** , that's exactly what I said. That being, I've heard subways have enough undercarriage room to survive being run over. As I understand it, the Cityrail uses subway-style carriages. These give more ground clearance than your average diesel-powered locomotive trains.

Good video Alan. But just as a reminder, it's "Thomas the Tank Engine" not Thomas the Train. Thomas the Train is what people say when they think of Thomas when a true Thomas fan understands that there is something more about Thomas a lot then what people say.
