A Ride on the Turntable at the North Carolina Transportation Museum!

I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC (just east of Salisbury) where you can take a look at the railroading exhibits, take a 25-minute train ride and ride a turntable. Ride a turntable? Yes you can!
For a small fee you can take a ride on the museum’s turntable, the same turntable where the locomotives are turned. Under the supervision of a museum staff member who operates the controls, you get to ride in a 360 degree circle and get a tour of the roundhouse, narrated by a museum staff member as you go along.
For the best experience, plan on spending a full day checking out the exhibits and taking a train ride. Train rides are offered on certain days, so check the museum’s website for the schedule. The museum offers special events throughout the year such as Day Out With Thomas and The Polar Express.
All in all I had an awesome time!
