In the last few decade or so I have shifted to a philosophy that to reduce clutter, I get rid of things I haven't used in over two years (with some exceptions for tools).
And if I find something I forgot I even owned, and have not needed in all that time, it goes too.
Good items get sold or donated, junk gets properly disposed of.
This philosophy has helped me shed nearly a ton (metric or US, it's just an approximation) of hardcover and paperback books that I had zero intention or reading again.
I have also accepted that I will never again fit into clothing from my twenties, and donated or discarded a lot of things as a result.
Hello Jodie, I hope you find your perfect house soon. I'm jealous of Jamie's amazing bungalow too. It seems strange, but I like watching your speeded up tidying up videos. I live in a very small flat, so finding space for things to go, is hard. It's good that someone is mowing the grass in Key's field. I love your pink cushions. I have always liked the waffle effect one. (If that's what it's called). Hope you are having a lovely day. 🐕💖

Have you considered making that blank wall into a showcase wall? You could hang/display things currently for sale on your website. Maybe a few open shelves with hooks underneath? You could hang jewelry or clothing, put the books and plush on the shelves like a bookstore would have. You could free up some storage space on the other wall and move the overflow from your desk over to the newly free space. Also, I keep a small photo album with small samples of my current fabric stock inside next to my sewing stuff. The actual fabric goes into vacuum seal bags and stored either under my bed or up in the attic (I denote it's storage space on the sample). That could free up some room too.
I would like something on that back wall, but I don't want it to look cluttered as it will be my background when filming some videos. That's a clever idea with the fabric sample book. I wish I had a designated sewing room!

The trick to an out of focus background - aside from a zoom filter - is to back the camera away as far as you can and then zoom back in until the subject looks close. Like 10 or 20 feet if possible. Also, low light helps as well. The wider you open the iris, the narrower the depth of field so it exaggerates amount the background gets de-focused.
Yep! That's why I needed that chair out of the way, that's the furthest I can get the camera from me in that room. And also why I need the light with it, the room isn't the brightest for lowest aperture.
I call those grass seed thingys "sticky balls", I have 3 cats who come in covered in them all day everyday during summer. Then the furniture and the house also get covered in them it's never ending 😂😂

Was watching this via tv but had to come on here and comment. I fell that, as an interesting person you need lots of things to do so it's not surprising that you have 'stuff' hanging around. I say this as a person who has spent literally weeks moving my 'stuff', mostly fabric and sewing gear, from room to room (had decorators/ new carpet fitted). I KNOW it's not easy but it is doable with time. We're all here - cheering you on because we love you, Key and Nan. Thank you for being available to us.
There are even more crafts I want to get into, but trying to resist, as I really don't have the space here for more tools and supplies! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)

Jodie, try using furniture sliders on the bottom of your fabric box. You'll be surprised how much easier it will be to move. Don't give up on your house hunting. It seemed to take forever, but Jamie found a beautiful place. Keep on keeping on! 💕

You're right!! It's hard to organize your space when space is limited. I used to have a tidy house. Not any more. 😁 You'll find a house when you least expect it. At least I hope so. 🏡 Jami certainly ended up with a beautiful yard. It would be nice if you also found a property with a lot of room for Key to play. His house, however would be too small for you. We down sized from a large home to a 1200 sqft flat....talk about way too much stuff for a too little of storage place...we widdle it down bit by bit until finally it just feels a little crowded😂.

Get a pop up green screen. That may reduce the need to have the desk in the middle. Very tight space and lots going on.
I do have a greenscreen, but don't have the space to use it, ironically! 😂 I won't be moving the desk, just myself sitting in the middle of the room when I want to talk to camera.
Do they have homes with basements in the UK? If so, I would look for a home with a big basement. You can just set up sections for everything. Office, sewing room, pottery area, etc.

Here's an idea/suggestion; If you move the photo of Key and the license plates behind the couch and maybe on the side where those things were, maybe you could have a picture of something that's part of one of your businesses (i.e. some small clay jars, jewelry wall display, etc.) That would look very sharp for a recording location. :)
Hope you, Key, and your mom find a nice home…maybe close to Sherpy. Huskies/Malamutes need a nice yard (garden) to play around in and you need a nice workshop with an office. Y’all need a place to spread out and relax like Jamie & Sherpa.❤

"Eat Britain"?? Anyway, my Dad used to get on my case about cleaning my room, but I'd always tell him that everything I owned in this state is in my room, so of course it's going to look cluttered. He was in the Air Force so, you know, "a place for everything and everything in its place."
Maybe you need some more shelving and definitely a few more plastic containers to hold things, perhaps some smaller ones and then some built ins so they will hold the smaller containers nicely and label them too so it will be easy to find stuff. Love from T&T!
I don't really have space for more shelving, the wall above my sofa is my backdrop so can't be used for storage. I wish I had more space!

@jodie_boo thank you!! My daughter Irulan (pronounced Air-uh-len), or Rue as we call her, is turning 2 at the end of July and the Key plushie and book are part of her present. She has watched/listened to both Key and Sherpa since she was in the womb and will ask to "watch puppies?" followed by an adorable little howl that she has picked up from the chatty pups 🥰. I really want to thank you for sharing Key with us as we are not in a position to have a puppy of our own yet. Maybe in a few years.

The temperature in there is not consistent, it gets very cold in winter and like an oven in summer!
@@jodie_boo Sorry, I meant a separate structure, a garden room, like an upscale garden shed. I don’t know what space you have available but people buy them to use as outdoor office space, amongst other things.
I had the Joby tripod for a few months, but eventually gave it to my friend's grand-daughter. I have the Leofoto carbon fibre tripod which is excellent. Nearly as good as the Really Right Stuff tripods.
The joby are good for some things, but sometimes the bendy legs annoy me! I got a Neewer tripod for my light, not too expensive but has good reviews :)
Jodie you are talented, and creative keep using your verticle wall space to hang what storage you can.
Sadly I don't really have much wall space left, I can't use the wall above the sofa as that's my filming background.
