It would have been really cool if they had made it actually working cart too. It would be cool to put some kind of everdrive style cart in this kind of cart.
Funny enough the shell is an exact replica of the original nes carts, you could mount a nes cartridge game in it as it's the same mold and it should work.
The Nintendo world championships original gold cartridge is one of the most rare games in existence with a value of $15000 or more. Just a little fun fact, game on!
It sounds nice on paper, but the whole idea of what made the NES championship cart, was that it was limited. It would be pointless on its value and honestly be a harsh move based on how the game was specifically made during a timed event and a competition nearly more than 30 years ago
My guy, they could NOT have released an NES board with it because they do not use the machinery required to produce those game PCB’s anymore. They would basically have to invest even more than double what they did to release the anniversary cartridge, in order to purchase machinery to manufacture the PCB’s. Then the price of the Cartridge automatically doubles, if not triples to make their money back on a slim market.
@@HylianMaster-ls2ps yeah, from people who bought the tech that Nintendo used to use, or repurposing boards of games with no value. Neither of which Nintendo possess or wants to purchase. Again it would have literally tripled the price because they would have to invest a hell of a lot more money to manufacture them at a rate where they can be sold on a mass scale. Millions of units is alot more expensive and harder to produce than a few thousand by a long shot.

I mean yeah it would be really cool to have an actual working game but you got to think the last NES games came off the presses back in the 90s. The machines that you would require to create those old school chips and the programming work around so you would have to take new computers and program the old microchips. It would probably make the process 10 times more difficult and make the cartridges ridiculously expensive. They probably had some really old inventory of old Nintendo game shells and they just repurpose them for this. Regardless though even if they made them from scratch a plastic injection mold system is not that hard to create a NES cartridge shell. You got to remember this is a Nintendo we're talking about. On the Nintendo switch you have to pay $60 to get a game that came out in the early 2000s. Nintendo is the ultimate company of finding really easy and cheap ways to grow their wealth exponentially.
OK now that is just stupid as hell. Like first of all, the cartridges were WAY bigger than they needed to be, so when you were still buying cartridges you were paying for like 75% empty space. Second, the BOXES did the same damn thing, packing them with cardboard to make them bigger on store shelves. Not quite as egregious, but again about 20% of the box was empty space. This is LITERALLY JUST SELLING EMPTY SPACE
You used Zelda 2 in your vid. It made me think of my grandfather. He was explaining to me the new power he got. He was sitting in his chair. Picked his feet up, acted like he was thrusting a sword past his feet. "Link stabs his sword downward as he jumps!'. As an adult I realize it was the little kid inside him being really excited to explain it to me.
I think would be too much trouble to make a new game that requires an old nes, many people would be angry, not having a nes, they wouldn’t be able to play it.
No they couldn't have released an actual cartridge. 🤦🤦🤦. Nintendo hasn't produced rom cartridges since the final runs of the last GBA and N64 games. They have no manufacturing line or contract for something like that. And the DS/3DS/Switch flash based SD cards manufactured by Macronix can't do this.
So they took some old trash thay they had lying around, didn't even put a gane in it and you bought it. Not even a seal of quality because they know it's trash

its the same original mold with all screw holes, so you could put a board in from another game
The most big brain move Nintendo could have possibly pulled is making a rickroll that runs inside the NES and putting that on the cartridge
