I've got a similar one I picked up at a sale for $3. Mine must be a lighter duty model, has a plastic collar on the keyless chuck. It's covered in roofing tar, and works great!
I have the DeWalt D21008 with the 6A. Made in USA and has the 3/8 spindle. I put on a Jacobs 700 series 1/2 chuck which allows the conversion for bigger bits.
Those things are huge, unwieldy, and dangerous in an aircraft environment. A good pneumatic surplus drill motor is much better. Check out The Yard in Wichita, Kansas. The used surplus section has many gems for actual use. I don't use electric corded drills at all. It's a killer in the wrong environment.
You will blow yourselves up then. I have seen it happen. Killed a friend of mine and destroyed a 10 million dollar aircraft. Good luck on the moon. Smoke another bowl.
That is a tough story I'm sad to hear that. Even though an air drill is non sparking in and of itself how do you mitigate Sparks emanating from the actual drilling process.
@@CatusMaximus I wouldn't say they are too rare, I have an almost complete set of Makita 9.6v tools from 1985 including the drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw etc. Only thing I am really missing is the jigsaw, they are hard to find.

Dewalt has excellent build quality. I’m not impressed with Milwaukee. I prefer dewalt over Milwaukee any day.
