Glad you are having so much fun! Kokka (I say "Coke-ah") is some of my favorite fabric. I love the novelty prints and linens. Enjoy skiing. I'm so jealous. I love skiing!

Enjoy the monkeys (and the skiing). So glad your trip is awesome so far. Can’t wait to see the treasures you bring back. Safe travels!

You two look so relaxed. This is what you needed with Violet and Kye.

I think I'm like you, Jeannie, when I go into a store with lots of things its overwhelming for me and I usually end up buying nothing. The thing that has impressed me is their cleanliness and organization. I've never really thought about going to Japan - but I'm more interested now! When we were in Taiwan and went to Monkey Mountain, we were told not to stare at the monkeys as they interpret that to be a threat and can become very aggressive so as we were hiking around, we really made the effort not to stare at them. We would look but not for long periods of time. It was so much fun though hiking and seeing so many monkeys all around us. Loving your updates.

Have an amazing time. If i wasn’t in middle of unpacking after moving 5 hours away , I totally would have gone with you. But no snow monkeys for me. Hot springs yes, shopping yes, skiing yes, but overall laughter and exploring yes!

Stay off the slopes. We did it in our late 20s early 30s. Haven't done it in 30 years. Thanks for keeping us posted. I think you have to pay duty if what you bring back is more than $800 worth of products per person.

The blue and white fabric is called shibori. It's a Japanese style of folding fabric and dipping in a blue indigo dye.

Toe socks are called tabis. Very functional for their wooden shoes.

You two are soon cute! Jeanne, I feel for you when you're skiing. When we lived in Idaho we would go up to bogus basin to ski. My husband's brother, oh let's go to the top of Shaffers Butte and ski. I asked if it was steep. Oh noooo not steep at all. LIAR . well, I took my skis off and started walking down until I could get to a point where I could ski, I could take in the. . Terrifying!

Shop till you drop. One of my local stores had a 24% off everything (except machines) today. I was really bad.
