    Remarkable! Wonderful! Building coaches in 7mm/1:43.5 scale is laborious, yours looks much more fun!
    A late friend of mine - when you pointed out freewheeling coach wheels - used to have machined (quite toxic) PTFE bearings for his 7mm coaches, made the loco feel as if it was running light as the coaches had little/no rolling resistance.
    Another family friend's, son, built a wonderful Gauge 1 Class 37 from Lego, ingenious, I think he was about 13 at the time, it was remarkable and akin to your work🤔🤔😊

    Built this model recently (had parts list from when you first posted it on patreon.)
    Very interesting building techniques, quite challenging at times. I do find the roof a bit fragile. You probably improved the design since then.
    That aside, the final model is stunning in person and looks great with the A3 Emerald Night MOC you did. 🎉
    Thank you!

    Have you thought of getting 2x5x2.5mm captive bearings, you can get them at a very good price from Aliexpress. You slip these on the axles, then they insert into the original block - and the bearing fits in the space of the of the block making this a much cheaper option for bogies.
    Fantastic model as ever. I have made mocs of BR-9F and BR 4T, but nothing at the level of yours.

    I have a question regarding power functions. When it comes to an engine that could pull maybe 12 of these at a decent medium-high speed, what motor, in terms of size, quantity, and which generation, would be best for one? I'm trying to design a PKP Pu29, but I'm not sure about what to cram into the boiler.

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Either 2x M motors or maybe 1x motor, would be enough for these coaches. The bearing make this incredible easy to pull.

    • @americantttefan4745
      @americantttefan4745 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Britishbricks Alright, thank you! Hmm, should I use Powered Up or Power Functions? I need a new set of motors because my old one wore out.

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@americantttefan4745 power function motors, but maybe use either an SBrick, Pfx brick or buwizz to control your engine. All are much better than what LEGO can provide.

    • @americantttefan4745
      @americantttefan4745 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Britishbricks I took a gander, yeah, Buwizz seems reasonably compact compared to a standard lego reciever and battery box. Considering the compact size of the tender of the Pu29, it would work splendidly! Perhaps I could even fit it in the boiler or cab :o

    • @Britishbricks

    Do you do a 6 wide version for us paupers who are skint or on a budget? This 7w is nothing short of magnificent, unfortunately so is the parts list. I saw an 8w version that are very nice, but £480 per carriage in parts is well out of my price range at the moment, this MOC lark aint cheap. I thought, "That Orient trains nice , but £260? no. What if I do a cheapo 6w version myself and order the parts". by the time I was done it cost more than the Orient Express! Is there some secret Lego parts store thats cheap, or maybe I need to find another hobby. Just those windows you used with the train glass are around £4 each, and there are 8 of them...Never mind, time for some sweet liquor to ease the pain. Have fun!

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would use bricklink and not the offical LEGO website (unless there is a certain part cheaper). My coaches usually cost around $100-150 USD. My next tutorial is a lot less complicated than this build and should be a lot cheaper.
