That performance happened way before the biopic. This performance I believe was in the late 90's or early 2000's. If you watched the biopic you're noticed actors performed this very show at the end of the biopic. Remember the biopic came out in 2016.

An extra crispy reaction 🥳! This New Edition performance was from 2005 (25 Strong: The BET Silver Anniversary Special at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles) and it's where the BET produced New Edition Story from 2017 basically ends. New Edition still tours across America doing the very same dance routines, except for Bobby who has health issues and problems keeping up at times while live on stage. Nope, you haven't reacted to "Cool It Now" yet. Bobby Brown dedicated their performance to Rick James who had recently passed away in 2004. Rick James was one of Bobby Brown's biggest influences as a kid growing up and New Edition actually opened up on tour for Rick James during their Candy Girl days.
