Fun fact, my best friend got married over that same weekend and a handful of us coordinated to bring our 3DSes with us to the venue. Spent about a week around the wedding street passing and collecting puzzle pieces from each other, it was honestly a good time.
I really wish that Nintendo had brought back Streetpass for the Switch. It was such a cute idea that I unfortunately missed out on because I never had a 3DS, and seeing it back would have been so charming and so very Nintendo
I also feel like it is more common to see people bring their Switch somewhere than it ever was with the 3ds since there are a lot of multiplayer games on switch which you can play with only one console so people sometimes bring it when they meet up with others (I’ve seen a lot of kids play with them near lakes for example)
11 hours by train?! I'd have seen several countries in that time, starting here in the Netherlands. We can be in Paris by train within 8 hours. Mindblowing.

I still remember how many Street Passes I would get at even much smaller conventions than NY Comic Con. Occasionally had to sit down and quickly go through all the encounters so I could get more. It was kind of ridiculous but a lot of fun too. Still fondly remember the two cosplayers who were "selling" magikarps like they do in the game. One was in a team Rocket outfit the other in the outfit of the NPC
haven't watched the SF vid yet but i really enjoyed the introspective(?) take/relaxing(?) vibes in this vid, feels refreshing from your usual content, great work as always dagnel!!
its a shame that online services for the 3ds will be dying soon, im assuming streetpass will alongside be shut down. I remember the excitement I'd get from seeing the notification a streetpass tag after going on a car ride or a walk across town, there's never going to be something as similar feeling as that. my 3DS' battery is so shot i cannot play it off the charger, but hopefully I can repair it in time and try to get a tag or two before end. i miss streetpass so much. i remember when me and my mum were on the train, we were playing on our ds' (yes, even my mum had a ds. shit was banging) and some chick sitting in front of us was also playing on her ds and she and my mum ended up chatting for a bit, asking what streetpass games she liked the most and stuff (since the lady sitting in front of us was going through her streetpass notifs at the time). those were the glory days. just a simple day trip to the city and we'd easily wind up with ten people on streetpass. i really wish a whole bunch of us could properly band together to popularise streetpass once again. my mum took her ds to the city the other day but she didnt get anyone. its such a shame. i look back on all the streetpass games, acnl, and those shitty $2 ds games you get for the shits and giggles fondly.

I remember getting the ugprade to store up to 100 Streetpasses back in the day, and I would get soooo many. It is kind of sad to see that it is harder to get. I should locate my 3DS and charge it to start taking it with me to places again.

I went to Rome last October at Romics with a friend and only got one StreetPass hit: her. However, she did get three or four. Unfortunately my 3DS has a broken antenna and won't even pick up a WiFi signal unless it's mere centimetres away from the router.

I was also at New York Comic Con that Sunday with my 3DS and although I did not get your tag I did get Finn's, so that's pretty cool! Glad to know there's still a ton of us going to cons looking for likeminded nerd people with their 12 year-old gaming systems lol
The last time i ever got a street pass in the wild was in Paris Nord (train station), waiting for my Eurostar connection... I'm getting a Eurostar again in a couple of weeks I'll try and remember to have my 3ds on in my bag!
This was such a fun video! I was still pretty young when the 3DS' popularity was at its height, so I wasn't really able to do the "walking through the city and getting streetpasses" thing. It's really cool to see that the chance of getting one today isn't zero :O
me and my boyfriend got 3ds’ in june of this year. took it halfway across the country on bus and got nothing! 😭 multiple airports to. i also take it to uni everyday and the only streetpasses i’ve ever gotten was with him lol

In around July this year me and my family went on a road trip nothing big it was less than a day long but while we were on the highway I got a streetpass which is already cool but in addition they had Tomodachi life save data and I got one of their travelers. Edit: it might not be cool to you but it cool to me because we were driving in Arkansas which I don't think would have many people looking to streetpass

Got the chance to experience street pass when popular and it was the best at cons (also did pretty well at the airport). Pictochat also was so much fun while you waited on lines for panels.

to my knowledge, streetpass is entirely local communication, so it should be unaffected by the shutdown

I went to Rome last October at Romics with a friend and only got one StreetPass hit: her. However, she did get three or four. Unfortunately my 3DS has a broken antenna and won't even pick up a WiFi signal unless it's mere centimetres away from the router.

I might try and find my 3DS and bring it on holiday if I’m going somewhere busy. Maybe I might get 9 street passes, 0, or whatever.
I really only get streetpasses at conventions nowadays, you should come to Atlanta for some! Momocon, Dragoncon, or anime weekend Atlanta (which is next weekend, woo).
I was also at New York Comic Con that Sunday with my 3DS and although I did not get your tag I did get Finn's, so that's pretty cool! Glad to know there's still a ton of us going to cons looking for likeminded nerd people with their 12 year-old gaming systems lol
The last time i ever got a street pass in the wild was in Paris Nord (train station), waiting for my Eurostar connection... I'm getting a Eurostar again in a couple of weeks I'll try and remember to have my 3ds on in my bag!
This was such a fun video! I was still pretty young when the 3DS' popularity was at its height, so I wasn't really able to do the "walking through the city and getting streetpasses" thing. It's really cool to see that the chance of getting one today isn't zero :O
I brought my 3DS to an anime convention in Fort Worth last December and got exactly 1 streetpass. I was impressed to get that one.
So jealous. I took my 3ds to NYC, and the Nintendo store in 2021 and got nothing.

me and my boyfriend got 3ds’ in june of this year. took it halfway across the country on bus and got nothing! 😭 multiple airports to. i also take it to uni everyday and the only streetpasses i’ve ever gotten was with him lol
thankyou for wearing a mask, events like these are superspreaders for all kinds of disases but especially Covid, which can kill and/or disable those who get it. as someone who immune compromised i still cant leave my house because people got rid of mask mandated that where keeping me somewhat safe and now people think they can just go around and infect others with no regard for safety of others, so i appreciate it
In around July this year me and my family went on a road trip nothing big it was less than a day long but while we were on the highway I got a streetpass which is already cool but in addition they had Tomodachi life save data and I got one of their travelers. Edit: it might not be cool to you but it cool to me because we were driving in Arkansas which I don't think would have many people looking to streetpass

Got the chance to experience street pass when popular and it was the best at cons (also did pretty well at the airport). Pictochat also was so much fun while you waited on lines for panels.
