Alan Moffat, and the phase three, were an amazing combination. At Bathurst, on a dry track, unbeatable. CLEVO FOREVER!

IMO Bathurst is among the greatest road courses on earth, Nurburgring, Spa, Bathurst….that’s basically the greatest tracks, everything else is simply not within the same league.

My goodness, squealing tyres and body roll. That brings back memories. And I saw the Morris badge and what might be a Marina. They were awful then as road cars. The Marina and the Austin Allegro are regularly voted as two of the worst cars produced in the Western world. And of course they were both produced when the unions were on strike most of the time. Or so it seemed. Led by "Red Robbo", Derek? Robinson. The Swedes and the Japanese just took over. I can't imagine it being a good race car. In this country we got an Asthmatic straight four, and all, I think, under 2000 cc capacity. Around 70 horsepower. Just some thoughts. What a seductive era to be racing in. To be at the forefront of something so exciting. And yet open face helmets and no headrests. And it looked like no roll cage in some, but surely they must have been mandatory by now?

Has anyone seen themselves in those crowd shots? Fifty years younger. How's the traffic in town, pause and have a good look. And no fatso's in those days, now it'd be the other way round. I was six at the time, didn't realize I was growing up in the best version of Australia for us who loved car's. And not being classified as a criminal for using them.

Road registered cars with crap suspension and brakes, and no safety. Brave people
