Gorgeous Ian. I wasn't sure when you started to burn the edge but you were right. The end result is just gorgeous. Great work and video as always mate. Take care. Cheers, Huw
This was interesting to watch Ian! Especially the footage of you fighting the endgrain. Looks like that Yew put up quite a struggle! In the end high speed steel always wins but I have seen wood that submits quicker. Nice piece you made!
@@IanMacWoodturning I noticed it because I have the same problem myself from time to time. Still need to get a hook tool. Have you ever seen how that cuts through endgrain?
Thanks mate, check when you tighten your chuck that all quadrants touch evenly incase one is misaligned. If that's ok measure your internal and external dimensions of your chuck making sure your giving enough room for the chuck to lock on the wood. Try to keep tailstock in as long as possible to secure your work.
You could put "ASMR" in the title and it will become a whole new thing, I've seen people doing that for things like grass mowing and power washing and it always seems to give them more views ;) Forgot to say, really liked the result of the bowl very nice colours!
Thanks for your comment Kayla, I would make sure to wear a face shield with some form of breathing device to stop you inhaling the yew dust, I've never had any sort of reaction from touching it though so if you're concerned maybe go with gloves but as long as you're not consuming the dust I would imagine you will be fine! :)@@kaylabustam9816

No but I’ll be having a look through some videos tonight haha
Nice! I’m new to turning myself. I can’t seem to get my chuck to hold tight though, any suggestions?

@@IanMacWoodturning thanks!
I could watch an entire video just of you clearing the bark (or cavities) with a dental pick ;)
Haha might have to start a new channel 😂

@@lunacorrain haha might have to save some satisfying clips from the videos and see what we can do! Thank you very much for your comment
We’re you concerned with it being toxic?
Nahh not too concerned about it, it probably wouldn't be used for food.
I dont understand yew is poisonous but you Hadley it with just your hands !?
You're not going to die touching a piece of Yew lol
I would at least wear gloves ... the saw dust can be dangerous and can absorb through skin or get in your ears nose or mouth .
I love the patterns yew has and your work is awesome I was just asking because I wanted to work with some... was looking for pointers .
